00:00Amateur footage shows flames pouring out of the school in Dakar as crowds flee.
00:05A Bangladeshi Air Force jet had just hit the building.
00:10We were on the playground for senior students and suddenly one of the two fighter planes crashed.
00:15It created a boom and it felt like an earthquake.
00:18Then it caught fire and the army reached the spot later.
00:22As emergency services battle to extinguish the blaze and evacuate scores of wounded survivors to safety,
00:29helicopters and ambulances made round trips to medical facilities nearby.
00:34The jet, a Chinese-made F-7 BGI training aircraft similar to the one pictured
00:39and based on an old Soviet model, went down shortly after take-off.
00:44The pilot had reportedly warned of a mechanical malfunction
00:47and tried to divert away from populated areas according to the military
00:51before slamming into the two-story school building,
00:55sending panicked families rushing to find their children.
00:58When we came out, we saw many students who had been charred on the staircases.
01:04Many were rolling on the floor trying to put out the flames.
01:09The first batch of victims arrived with severe burns.
01:12We literally saw skin coming off.
01:15Military crews worked into the evening trying to remove the wreckage and locate further bodies.
