Exactly twenty years ago 32-year-old Simon Knight vanished without a trace from a hotel in Sydney. Since then, his disappearance has been a mystery leaving his family without answers. Police have renewed calls for information but still have no evidence to suggest there were suspicious circumstances.

00:22Simon Knight was last seen at a Surrey Hills hotel on July 21, 2005, when the 32-year-old
00:29chef didn't turn up for a shift at a Newtown cafe that same day, his parents reported him missing.
00:36Despite extensive investigations at the time and over the years, Simon has never been found
00:41and the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain a mystery.
00:45A decade later, and without much evidence, a coroner could only conclude that Mr Knight was likely dead.
00:52He's never met my girls. So, yeah, just so many lost opportunities.
00:5820 years on, his heartbroken family won't give up hope.

01:13The case was briefly referenced in a report into LGBT hate crimes.
01:18It's stated that when his parents reported their son missing, an officer told them gays go missing all the time.

01:28To this day, Mr Knight's last known sighting is still at this hotel in Surrey Hills,
01:34where he was seen wearing a dark green T-shirt and blue jeans.
01:38He was also believed to be carrying with him a camera and a bike, two key items, which have never been found.
01:45A $250,000 reward for information remains in place.
