Jordan Brown discusses his move to Bloomfield Road and explains why he was keen to join Blackpool.
Transcript
00:00So Jordan, obviously just over a week ago you joined Blackpills, how has life been here so far?
00:05Yeah, really good. I've settled in well with the lads. It's a really good group to come into.
00:10They've made it really easy for me. The gaffer and the staff all have been so welcoming
00:15and got their ideas across to me, which was obviously nice to come out and play here today
00:20for the first time as a home player. And yeah, it's just been really good.
00:24Yeah, was it nice to see some of the fans, obviously in two weeks they've seen more of them,
00:27but to see, just get a feeling what the place is like?
00:29Yeah, obviously it's nice. Like I said before, I've played here as an away player
00:32and it's always a tough place to come, so it's nice to experience playing with the home shirt on today
00:37and I look forward to obviously playing in front of them more as the season starts.
00:41What attracted you to Blackpool?
00:43I think obviously the club itself is a massive club, a club that's played in the Premier League in the past
00:48and not so long ago was in the Championship and ultimately I want to make that next step into the Championship
00:53and I believe this is a club on the up. And obviously the gaffer knows how to get promoted.
00:57He's got promoted so many times and so to come and play for him is obviously an honour for me
01:02and I just want to do my best for him really and kick on.
01:05Yeah, obviously last year of Leighton Orient, you experienced some playoffs, you were obviously at Gregor's events,
01:08so it must have been a big pulling power for you to be convinced to leave her.
01:11Yeah, of course, I had some good chats with the gaffer or with Richie, he was really good for me.
01:18I wouldn't be really where I am now as a person, a player without him, he's done a lot for me,
01:22so he was really honest with me and obviously wanted me to stay there,
01:27but he understood also the opportunity they had to come here and obviously also a bit closer to home,
01:32which is nice for me to move back up north.
01:34So yeah, it's just all something that I had a chat with him about and he was really good for me
01:38and I can't thank him enough for that.
01:40You know, to sort of bring that experience of each of the playoffs last year,
01:43bring it to this squad and obviously there's a lot of experienced players there as well.
01:46Yeah, of course, yeah, obviously everyone, you know, as a kid dreams of playing at Wembley
01:49and now I want to go to Wembley and win.
01:52So obviously coming here with that experience behind me,
01:55I feel like I can bring that to the dressing room and you've got other, you know,
01:58lads in the dressing room like Hubby, Evo, who have got that experience as well.
02:02And yeah, I think, you know, look around the dressing room at the moment,
02:05we've got quality, we've got experience, so we're going to have a real go this year.
02:09Well, based on history, Blackburn Valley would be a good place to be for playoff success,
02:12obviously over there as well, the years we've run it,
02:14so is that something that's been salty as well?
02:16Yeah, I mean, I've heard a lot about it.
02:18Obviously, at the time, I didn't really know too much about it before I came here,
02:22but, you know, I know the history of the club.
02:25And yeah, to be able to, like I say, get promoted,
02:27it doesn't matter how you get promoted, whether you win the league, come second,
02:30or if you win the playoffs, you just want to get that over the line
02:32and hopefully this year it can be our year.
02:34Obviously, there's going to be ups and downs throughout the season,
02:36we're still two weeks away, but is there a bit of confidence in that squad
02:39that you are going to be a competitive team in the league one this year?
02:42Yeah, massively, I think you saw that today, you know,
02:44we play on the front foot, we're aggressive,
02:46but, like I say, the quality that we've got in the dressing room is really good.
02:51And if we can play with confidence and we can be consistent over the season,
02:55whether it's home or away, and the fans can back us,
02:57and then we've got a real good chance of getting promoted.
03:00You were involved in the recent kick reveal,
03:02obviously, a Chariots of Fire run on the beach.
03:04Was you aware about Chariots of Fire and that famous scene before you took that?
03:08I didn't have a clue, mate, to be honest.
03:09I just got told to run across the beach and smile,
03:11so that's what I did, but, yeah, it was a good laugh, you know,
03:14the lads had a bit of banter and that about it,
03:17so it was, yeah, nice to be involved in that, it was happy days.
03:20Who got into it more?
03:20So you've considered themselves a bit of a film star while filming it?
03:23I think Evo really enjoyed it, to be fair.
03:26He was at the front, you know, smiling and up and down the beach,
03:29so, yeah, I'd probably say Evo, he had a good day.
03:32Everyone kept their balance, there was no tumbles in the sand if we were near long.
03:35No, mate, no, it was all good, to be honest, it was enjoyable.
03:38Yeah, glad no one fell and got injured.
03:40Maybe a Chariots of Fire film night first along the way game?
03:44Potentially, yeah, I've never seen it myself,
03:46but maybe it's on the cards now, we'll see.
03:49I just found it, yeah, I mentioned before, two weeks ago,
03:52just how excited are you to get competitive action,
03:53now you've had this little bit of taste of football, yeah.
03:55Yeah, buzzing, can't beat it, playing in front of the fans,
03:59yeah, it's what you want to do,
04:02you want to, you know, play in good atmospheres and good stadiums
04:05and you can't beat the feeling of having three points on the line
04:08and giving everything you can to go and get them.
