Meet the Lancashire artist who turns his humorous animal sketches into clocks, coasters and jigsaws.

Christopher Perkins aka Mydas Touch demonstrates how he draws his intricately funny scenarios using colour pencils, from his stall at Great Eccleston Show.

00:00I draw everything that I sell. Those pictures, once they're scanned, I then put them onto
00:09different products such as coasters, kitchen boards, cheese boards, jigsaws.
00:14I used to have a collie dog, which is why a lot of the pictures will have collies in,
00:21but I'm an animal lover. That transposes into the humour side where I think a lot
00:27of people think animals are dumb, shall we say, and I look on the lines of, we are just
00:35as dumb as they are, or they are as clever as we are, whichever way you want to look at it.
00:39And you'll see that a lot of animals are outsmarting what we class as either the human elements or
00:48the things where we think they're cleverer than these animals, and you just put on a level
00:53pegging of, well, they're all as clever as each other, and they've been going for a long
00:57while before we came into this world, so they're still developing.
01:05As a little boy, my dad used to come home from work, and they would buy both myself and my older
01:11brother comics, and they would be the likes of the Dandy Beano type comics, so they were proper
01:16little comics with little cartoon characters in, and basically that's where it's come from,
01:22a lot of that idea, and when I went to school, my art teachers saw the humorous and the creative side
01:31in my art lessons, so it allowed me to do what it would be classed as the cartoon imagery.
01:37Then from there, I just, just carried on doing it.
01:40I work from home. I used to have a shop in the studio, but no wonder I have that.
01:46And basically work in the front room to do my pictures, and I'm just standing up,
01:51so I don't need a lot of room around me, and that's where I work from normally.
