00:00Look, none of us wanted to sell Rob, end of the day, once I get to a certain level of money, not just for the club, for Rob himself personally, the lure of being in the championship, the kid knocked my door down every other day, which is understandable, you know, so it became a little bit emotional in the end for Rob.
00:22Listen, we wish him the best of luck, he's come through the academy here, as I said, none of us wanted to sell him, neither on the owner, but you have to accept that once a player is offered money of life-changing ability and the ability to play in the top league has obviously had the big pull, so we wish him the best of luck and it's up to us to now find a replacement.
00:53And I'm very, very confident that we'll do that.
00:56Yeah, you spoke highly last week about Rob and just obviously how good he has been for you and how he's a dying breed.
01:01A bit of a dying breed, local lad come through, look, none of us, as I said, wanted to sell him.
01:06The problem is, is the player himself, you know, and rightly so, it's a small, it's a very short career, you know, when you're trebling your money and quadrupling your money and all of a sudden you're into, you know, a sum of money when you're a young boy and start of your career, you're going to have your head turned.
01:25And also for Rob, I think the lure of the championship was where he wanted to be.
01:30You mentioned last week it'd be a substantial fee, so can you tell us what kind of fee it was?
01:34Yeah, it was up around where we expected it to be, up around two, two and a half million, something like that.
01:39Not most of the exact figure, but it was up around that and probably with bits and pieces close at the three.
01:46So, a bit like Kyle, we didn't want to sell him, you know, and then, you know, we went to work and replaced him with Ennis and that's the way forward, you know.
01:56We've made the decision to let him go.
01:59As I said to you, none of us wanted him to go.
02:02The player himself was the one who demanded that he went.
02:05You mentioned obviously wanting to strike as well, last week we spoke about Jerry Yates, this week it's been reported that there is interest from Blackpool.
02:13I think you know, look, if it was possible, if it was possible, then everybody would like to bring Jerry back.
02:21The problem is, he plays in the league above, and if he's got suitors in that league above, then it's going to be very, very difficult.
02:28We'd all like Jerry back, whether it's possible, let's watch this space.
02:33Have you held any preliminary talks, anything?
02:35No, no, no, no, we haven't had preliminary talks, no.
02:38We haven't got preliminary talks, but I just keep seeing it and we'll keep hearing about it and Jerry Yates this and Jerry Yates that.
02:47If it's at all possible to the supporters, we'll do it.
02:50But obviously, he's in a club where he's in a higher division.
02:55There lies the problem.
02:56I'm going to use my usual trick and throw some more names at you.
02:58Dale Taylor and Michael Smith have both been linked this week.
03:01Is there anything on either of ours too?
03:02Both very, very good players.
03:04Both very, very good players.
03:06And the sort of calibre that we're looking at, I think it would be unfair for me to start mentioning names and individuals for their respected clubs.
03:14But that's the sort of level of player that we're looking at to try and help us for what's just going to be a really tough campaign ahead.
03:21Both are at different ends of the spectrum.
03:23Obviously, one in his 30s, one very young.
03:25So, are you hoping to have any kind of strike at the moment?
03:27We'd all love somebody 20-21, wouldn't we?
03:32Everybody enjoys a young'un.
03:34And we've done very, very well with our young players who were brought forward.
03:39Let's see what becomes available.
03:41We're just getting ready to go to work, as I said.
