00:00Launched in 2024, Tiny Toon captured the hearts of young visitors by offering a hands-on,
00:06scaled-down city experience, featuring mini-replicas of some of Newcastle's most iconic landmarks
00:11and local businesses. This year, many favourites return alongside brand-new additions designed to
00:17bring even more fun to the tiny streets and venues. So with us, when it comes to Tiny Toon,
00:22we always want to include the most iconic buildings and almost, you know, some of the
00:27best businesses that make up this city. So new for this year, you've got Life Science Centre,
00:32who recently celebrated their 25th birthday. So it felt totally right to have these guys here and
00:37celebrating everything that they do. You know, there's so much that they give to the region,
00:41not just the city. So really proud that they're involved this year. We also have Time Theatre
00:46and Lopper House as well, which is fantastic. You know, a lot of people are certainly going
00:52more towards theatre these days. You know, it's not just your traditional, you know,
00:58Shakespearean plays or musicals. There's so much more and certainly with the Time Theatre,
01:02you've got fantastic comedy shows. There's fantastic things for kids all year round as well.
01:06So it felt perfect to include those. We've got Blackfriars this year and I think Blackfriars is one
01:12of those restaurants that if you haven't been to in the city, where have you been? One of the longest
01:17established restaurants in the city centre. They do some fantastic things for kids and I think that
01:21was why it was so perfect to bring them in. They have kids cookery classes, they do a lot of outreach
01:26and social engagement. They're just a brilliant business to work with. And finally, we've got our
01:30Great North Children's Hospital. It's one of our charities that we're working with this year on
01:34anyone's Dragon Boat Race. So this is the one that, you know, whether you want to be a miniature doctor,
01:39a nurse, a dentist as well, we've got a dental area in there too. It's just a brilliant addition and adds more
01:46vibrancy to the area. Lots of different varied roles. So no matter what you want to be in your
01:50future, your future can be right here in Newcastle. At the heart of the mini city stands the Tyne Bridge,
01:56recreated in stunning detail and sponsored by Esch, the construction company currently leading the
02:01renovation of the real life bridge. Another returning highlight is the Metro experience, which gives
02:08children the chance to sit in a replica driver's cabin, press wheel control buttons and wear a driver's hat
02:14and high-vis vest for the full experience. Eldon Square also returns with its popular dress-up area,
02:19packed with costumes, accessories and a large store window for styling and photo opportunities.
02:25We are so pleased anyone's Tiny Tuners back again for this year. We had such a good response last year
02:31that I think that would have been up-brought if we didn't bring it back. We've spent months working with
02:36businesses, collaborating on how their unit will look, how children will be able to engage in
02:41their units as well. So it's such a good day and even the sunshine came out. So I'm really pleased
02:46to add this to our screen on the green calendar. So this alongside the two free films right the way
02:51through until the 31st of August and the new stay in play zone. It's just such a destination of play
02:57here and already the families seem to love it.
