Según una encuesta de 2024, casi el 80 % de los científicos especializados en animales han observado conductas sexuales entre individuos del mismo sexo, pero menos del 20 % ha publicado sus hallazgos. 00:04Scientists might often just not report it when they see it.

00:07In this 2024 study, animal scientists were asked if they had ever observed same-sex sexual behavior in their work.

00:13It turns out 80% of them had, but only 20% published their observations.

00:19Many of the scientists who responded just assumed that this behavior was rare and not relevant for publication.

00:24But that might be far from the truth.

00:26Up to now, same-sex behavior has been reported in over 1,500 species,

00:31ranging from mammals, to fish, to birds, even to insects and spiders.

00:36But if what the study suggests is true, then that number is probably much, much higher.
