00:00So then we move to Bradley Beal, who is supposed to be set up for this year.
00:05And I just can't help myself but bring up Miami because Miami keeps finding
00:09themselves connected to these guys and then ending up with absolutely zero
00:12of these players.
00:14They didn't apparently get close to Bradley Beal.
00:17In fact, it actually feels like Bradley Beal knew he was going to be a clipper
00:21long before that buyout was finalized with the Phoenix Suns,
00:26considering the buyout tweet from Shams Tarania was accompanied with the details
00:32of his clipper deal.
00:35Look, I'm not like tampering is what it is.
00:39It's a part of this league.
00:40It's just if we're going to like enforce tampering ever, this seems to be one of
00:45the more, you know, obvious bits of tampering we've seen, though that isn't
00:52really what matters here.
00:53What matters is have the Clippers now put themselves in a position this offseason
00:58to actually feel like they can contend for a spot in the conference finals.
01:04Do they feel like one of the four best teams in L.A.?
01:09How do you feel, Coach, now with Bradley Beal joining Kawhi and James Harden in L.A.?
01:15Well, we all know what it's going to come down to is, I mean, are they going to be healthy?
01:19I mean, because you're talking about every one of them, between Harden, between Kawhi,
01:25John Collins has missed time over his time years, Bradley Beal's missed time.
01:30So to me, it's more about can they stay healthy, which means it is the if factor.
01:37Now, let's just say that they do stay healthy.
01:42To me, you know, people are going to say, well, was it a good trade trading Norm Powell?
01:48For the return.
01:51No, but, and Kevin and I were talking about this a couple of days ago on the phone,
01:55if you peel it back and say, you trade Norman Powell and you get back John Collins and sign
02:02Bradley Beal, it's actually a better move for the Clippers overall.
02:06Now, when you look at this team and their starting lineup, James Harden at the point,
02:09Beal's the two.
02:10I'm going to say this, I've said this from the day he went to Phoenix.
02:14Bradley Beal is not a point guard.
02:16He's never been a point guard.
02:18He is an isolation guy that's got to get his ball in space.
02:22And obviously, look, last year, 17 points per game, 3.7 assists.
02:27But he is a better off guard where he is a catch and shoot guy.
02:32So now you're looking at the Clippers with those two in the backcourt,
02:34with Kawhi, John Collins, and Zubac, who I thought should have been the most improved player.
02:39And I think right now, based off what we don't know about L.A. with the Lakers,
02:45is this is the best team in the Pacific Division.
02:49To me, they're better than Golden State.
02:51I think they hit you with more.
02:53And then you look at that second group that includes Brooke Lopez,
02:57Derek Jones Jr., Chris Dunn, Bogdanovich, and Patum.
03:01They're sneaky good.
03:04And they have one of the best coaches.
03:06So to me, Derek had the best coach in that division.
03:10No disrespect to Steve Kerr.
03:13I think Ty Lue is a better coach than him, personally.
03:17I don't care about the rings.
03:19So to me, I look at that team.
03:21And if they're healthy, yes, they're a top four team in the West.
03:28If they stay healthy.
03:30And we never know what's going to happen with that team, particularly with Kawhi.
