00:00So do you think there's a world where the Lakers, if they could, shouldn't?
00:03No, but I'm saying we're talking about money at that point.
00:05We're talking about salaries.
00:06Yeah, I can make the salaries work.
00:08You can.
00:09Easily.
00:09I mean, from a fundamental puzzle piece standpoint, yes.
00:14Like, great fit.
00:16Like, where are you at, JY, on Minnesota and Gobert this offseason?
00:20Gone. Get rid of him.
00:21Gone. Get rid of him.
00:23I mean, listen, this is the way they're going to use him, right?
00:29And literally, one, if this is where you're using him, I don't know why they gave him the extension that they did.
00:34Or two, why they didn't trade him instead of Cat.
00:37Oh, I know why, because he made more money.
00:39And it was easier to Cat can bring back more in return.
00:42Could I see them going to Nas Reed in the starting lineup and moving Gobert and trying to get, like, more of a point guard and more backcourt help to help out?
00:51And yes, I just don't know money-wise how it lines up.
00:56So, I'm going to start working on trade proposals as you talk about why you think he's going to.
01:00Well, look, here's my thing on Rudy Gobert.
01:04I'm just going to say, sometimes I just try and see if a very simple trade can work.
01:10Of course.
01:10Okay?
01:12Rui Hanchimura for Austin and Austin Reeves for Rudy Gobert works.
01:17Money-wise?
01:17Yeah.
01:18And you know what?
01:19I'm shocked.
01:19Rudy Gobert only makes $35 million.
01:22Yeah, the contract was almost at this point now, like, a while ago, right, J.Y.?
01:25Mm-hmm.
01:25Now, Laker fans would hear that and, you know, go insane because you can't possibly get rid of Austin Reeves and then the return is Rudy Gobert.
01:35This is kind of—one of the reasons I bring this up is I'm trying to gauge the value on Rudy Gobert.
01:42Like, is Rudy Gobert seen as a negative asset now after what this postseason has been?
01:47In which case, you wouldn't have to give up Austin Reeves, most likely.
01:51Again, but if he's a negative asset, then is Minnesota really going to lose Rudy Gobert, who at minimum should at least be valuable to them in the regular season when, you know, they want to compete for seeding and things of that nature?
02:03I think it's one of the interesting items of this offseason that we've not heard anything about because Minnesota's season is still ongoing.
02:13I think the issue is if you—let's just say we try to make it work, right?
02:19I think if I looked at it right, Kev, you could swap out—if Rudy's diminished value is so bad, I think you'd swap out Austin Reeves or Dorian Finney-Smith and the money still works.
02:29I mean, I'm just kind of looking at it.
02:31I think I got it right.
02:32Mm-hmm.
02:32But the problem is if you do that, you have to attach a draft pick to it.
02:37And I think the first time the Lakers can trade their first-run draft pick, I do believe it's 20-31.
02:41So that is—
02:43I think they have a pick this year.
02:44Well, they have a second-run pick in this year's draft.
02:46And then it's 26-round one, 28-round one, 30-round one, which we all know you can't trade it unless you're getting something back in a different trade than moving that pick.
02:56So you're looking at a 20-31 draft pick.
02:58You're looking at Dorian Finney-Smith.
03:00And you're looking at Rui Hachimura.
03:02I don't know if that's enough for doing Tice, Minnesota.
03:06I think you're going to have to put Austin Reeves in a deal.
03:09And then maybe you can pull back the pick and maybe throw the 20-25 second-round pick instead.
