We caught up with Braddon Liberal MP Felix Ellis on election night. Here's what he had to say.
Transcript
00:00How are you feeling?
00:01Good, we've had a great start. It's really encouraging.
00:03I mean, we've had amazing feedback from right across our community over the last five weeks.
00:09And it's encouraging to see how the numbers are falling so far.
00:13Obviously a long night ahead, but yeah, it's a really good start for us.
00:16And we've got a goal of winning a majority of seats here in Braddon,
00:19and we've started off really strong on that track.
00:22And like you said, it is still early days and there's a long night ahead.
00:25Are you concerned you're going to lose your seats?
00:27Well, look, we've had an incredible result here in Braddon.
00:30So I'm really encouraged by that.
00:32We'll see the booths come in.
00:34What I can say, though, on the other side,
00:36is this is a clear rejection of the kind of deals and division
00:40that Dean Winter has brought to the Parliament.
00:43The fact that this has blown up so badly in Labor's face already
00:46is a sign that Tasmanians have rejected that sort of stuff.
00:49We've seen massive swings towards us in some rural booths already in Braddon.
00:54Dean Winter hasn't visited large parts of our electorate.
00:57He didn't bother with the Bass Strait Islands.
00:59And if you want to be Premier for everyone,
01:01you need to do what Jeremy Rockwith does,
01:02and that's be present, serve,
01:05and make sure that you know what's going on on the ground.
