00:00
First, I want to talk about the Brazil-Venezuela game.
00:03
This was a very impressive game.
00:05
I think Venezuela played a very strong match.
00:08
Although Brazil did 1-2-0, I think Venezuela was...
00:12
It is so impressive the way that they were able to hold off Brazil's attack
00:17
for the first, I think, 80 to 70 minutes, you know?
00:20
I think they played incredibly strong.
00:22
But at the end of the day, Brazil is the powerhouse and the favorite,
00:26
and that's why they got the win.
00:27
But, you know, I think games like this show that there is room
00:30
for a little bit of uncertainty in this tournament
00:32
and that there will be surprises along the way.
00:35
Next up, we have to talk about the rivalry, Argentina versus Uruguay.
00:40
This was, wow.
00:41
It was a feisty match.
00:43
Uruguay got a red card, so they were left with 10 women on the field,
00:47
and Argentina was able to capitalize that and win 1-0.
00:52
You know, I think that this was a very specific type of match.
00:55
I think that Uruguay definitely had a shot to win this match,
00:59
and it's, if not, tie.
01:01
But there were some choices by the manager that I don't agree with.
01:04
They have incredibly strong forwards, and instead, Uruguay,
01:08
when they went down a man, dropped their forwards back
01:11
into the left-back position, and that's when they got scored on.
01:14
So, you know, I think they played a little bit scared,
01:16
and hopefully they're able to make some changes in their upcoming matches.
01:19
But we are still in the early days of this tournament.
01:22
We are in the group stages.
01:24
There are so many more matches to be played,
01:26
and who knows what will happen.
01:28
So, the lineup of games this week is amazing.
01:32
First off, we got to start with Uruguay versus Peru today at 2 p.m.
01:36
Uruguay is comfortable in the tournament so far,
01:39
but Peru's still out there fighting to stay alive in the tournament,
01:42
so this one matters.
01:44
All right, next up, we have Argentina versus Chile at 5 p.m.
01:49
Argentina's already on a roll, but Chile, they're not out yet,
01:53
so this could mean anything.
01:55
Expect some serious hustle in this game, and we'll see how the results end up.
01:59
Next up, tomorrow, Venezuela versus Bolivia.
02:03
This one's hard.
02:04
I mean, Bolivia's basically packing their bags already at this point,
02:07
but Venezuela still needs these points, so expect a good game.
02:11
Colombia versus Paraguay tomorrow is looking promising.
02:14
Colombia's got strong energy, but Paraguay's got that win-or-go-home mentality.
02:19
And do not sleep on Monday's matches.
02:21
We have Argentina versus Peru again, and Chile versus Ecuador,
02:25
and this one, Chile's got a win period.
02:28
So, again, important matches this week.
02:30
On another note, there is something that I would like to talk about.
02:33
We saw some news coming from the captain of Brazil, Marta, the icon,
02:38
talking about the conditions in this tournament.
02:41
Apparently, the teams are being required to warm up indoors
02:46
instead of on the pitch because of field conditions,
02:49
but, you know, I think this is a very strange policy
02:53
that the tournament is enforcing.
02:55
This is something that, I don't know, maybe you wouldn't see on the men's side.
02:58
You don't see on the men's side of Copa America,
03:01
so this is a critique of the way that Ecuador is being the host of the tournament.
