00:00But we have to start at the beginning with the Euros.
00:02This tournament has been taking the world by storm
00:05and showing that the women's game has a level
00:08that has nothing to envy the men's side.
00:11And that's why I'm here with Camila Ortiz and Alex Crespo.
00:14And we're going to break it all down.
00:15Camila, I know you've been watching a lot.
00:18I know that you've been a big fan of the Lionesses
00:21in this tournament.
00:23We know that the final is upon us.
00:25But let's talk about the semifinals.
00:27Talk to me about that game.
00:28Yeah, absolutely.
00:29I mean, this has been such an exciting tournament
00:31in the women's game.
00:33We just saw the quarterfinals.
00:35We saw England.
00:35The Lionesses, like you said, face Sweden.
00:38This was a very exciting match.
00:40England, the Lionesses just got the win off of PKs.
00:43And this is a repetitive cycle we're seeing with the Lionesses.
00:47I was very excited for this team,
00:49but I have been a little disappointed, to be honest,
00:51by their performance.
00:52We saw their match versus Italy, again,
00:55winning by scoring a goal in the 96th
00:57and the 112th minute.
00:59So they're kind of waiting to the end.
01:01You could ask, is this, again, they know when to strike,
01:04or are they falling a bit behind, is my question.
01:06Yeah, without a doubt.
01:07One of the big issues that this team has been showing
01:10is that they have opportunities to put these games away,
01:13and they have allowed what you consider lesser competition
01:17to, you know, take space on them.
01:19But somehow, they've been winning every single game
01:23that has gone beyond regulation in history with this coach.
01:27No elimination game that has gone to extra time
01:30has been lost by the Lionesses.
01:32Another big game, Alex, España.
01:35What a team.
01:36My favorite team of the competition.
01:37They are in the final.
01:39But before that, they had a great game
01:40that was hard against Germany.
01:42I mean, that's right.
01:44I mean, we saw an amazing game.
01:46Germany versus España.
01:48These teams are never letting us down.
01:51I mean, we saw some world-class football from both sides.
01:54It was a very even match.
01:550-0 for the full time.
01:56And then they go into overtime.
01:58And Bonmati, who else but the Ballon d'Or winner,
02:02to score the goal after being in the hospital
02:04just a few weeks ago with meningitis
02:06and coming back and showing that she is still world-class.
02:10Without a doubt, that's why Spain is one of my favorite teams
02:12to win this competition.
02:13For many, it is their competition to lose.
02:16The final is upon us this Sunday.
02:18Camila, what is your prediction?
02:20Do you feel like La Madre Patria is going to take this tournament
02:23or the Lionesses will continue the reign?
02:25Because this is a team that has become an usual winner
02:29of the tournament, whereas Spain,
02:31they're still trying to win their first one.
02:32This is going to be a difficult match.
02:34I don't know if I have a clear winner,
02:36but if I had to choose, I would put my money on Spain
02:39just because they are playing so well.
02:41We saw in that game versus Germany,
02:43the attack was relentless by Spain.
02:46But again, I don't think this is going to be an easy match
02:48by any means.
02:49No, without a doubt, they will fight till the end.
02:51But I do believe that this mistake that England
02:54has been able to paper over through the last games
02:57will be very difficult to control
02:59because Spain has so much depth,
03:01especially in the top third,
03:03that it's scary to think that they will not take
03:05the opportunity that Britain has been doing.
03:08But on the other side, Alex,
03:09on that game that we saw with Germany losing to Spain,
03:12I want to talk for a moment about the goalkeeping level
03:15in the whole tournament.
03:16It has been off the charts.
03:18Berger was a standout in that game.
03:20Unfortunately, she wasn't able to put the team forward.
03:24Another case was the Sweden goalkeeper
03:26establishing a record four stops on a penalty shootout,
03:30and she wasn't able also to score her penalty
03:33to make it to the next round.
03:34But Camila, what do you think about the level overall
03:37and the perception around the world
03:40of the level of the women's girls after this tournament?
03:42I mean, I think the level has been remarkable.
03:45We are seeing...
03:46I want to focus again, like you said,
03:47on the goalkeepers, the defenders.
03:49We have seen top-notch defending this, you know, tournament.
03:53We haven't seen a lot of high volume of goals
03:55because the defenders are playing so strongly.
03:58Yeah, and Alex, you were talking about Bon Mati,
04:01one of the players that have a history
04:03of not only excellence but also grit
04:07and showing that these women,
04:09sometimes they are, in my opinion, fiercer than the guys.
04:12The guys tend to be a little bit soft.
