Leeds restaurants featured in The Good Food Guide 2025

The Swine Bistro in Headingley and Bavette in Horsforth feature in The Good Food Guide's 100 Best Local Restaurants 2025.

00:00Two celebrated Leeds restaurants have been named among the best in the country,

00:04as this year's prestigious Good Food Guide for 2025 has been revealed.

00:09The latest edition of the 100 Best Local Restaurants Roundup celebrates the best foodie

00:14hotspots in the UK which are loved by their communities. This year the list features two

00:19Leeds venues, one can be found in Headingley and one is based in Horsforth.

00:24The Swine Bistro on Otley Road has been praised by the guide for its affordability and flair,

00:29formerly known as The Swine That Dines, it relocated in April from North Street in the

00:34city centre to its new Headingley site. The move saw the team double their covers to 35

00:40and expand their menus following a successful crowdfunding campaign.

00:45Meanwhile, Bavette, a French bistro in Horsforth, is the other Leeds venue featured in the list.

00:50This time last year it was named the best local restaurant in Britain by the same guide

00:55and since then it has continued to impress both diners and critics.

00:59It drew praise for its ever-changing menu and the venue also received a Michelin Guide recommendation

01:05and a glowing write-up from renowned food critic Jay Rayner.

01:09This year marks 15 years of the annual 100 Best Local Restaurants list which celebrates

01:14independently run restaurants that offer affordable and accessible dining.

01:18To choose the best, the Good Food Guide accepted almost 60,000 public nominations before anonymous

01:24inspectors visited each one.

01:26As well as the two Leeds restaurants, there were other winners in the wider Yorkshire region,

01:31including Hearth in Hull, Coyne in Hebden Bridge, Scosh in York, the Waterside in Ruzzup,

01:36Bench in Sheffield, Norman's Neighbourhood Kitchen in Kirkburton, Black Wheat Club in York,

01:41and the Nettles in Hull, and the Nettles in Settle.
