The UK's Afghan asylum scheme has sparked a blistering row on GB News after a veteran told the People's Channel that he had been "evicted" to make way for those who were relocated.Hitting out at the £850million scheme, which was uncovered on Tuesday, commentator Adam Brooks declared the country is "not putting our people first".FULL STORY HERE.
00:00The unrelenting tide of cover-ups here, certainly in relation to this Afghan scheme, is pretty shocking.
00:04It kind of points to the fact that we can't really trust anything anyone's saying or anything.
00:07No, it's shocking. And the trust between the people of this country and governments is at an all-time low.
00:16And now we know that apparently, you know, £7 billion worth of repatriation of Afghans has been hidden from us.
00:25So not only that, I mean, this £7 billion, was it hidden from the bond markets?
00:31Was it hidden from the Chancellor, the OBR forecast?
00:34Does that mean all of our numbers are wrong? Have we been sold a lie on that?
00:39And then we get told that veterans are being turfed out of accommodation, possibly, because of Afghans coming over.
00:48People that have served their country are being turfed out of their accommodation.
00:51Where's that information from? Where are you verifying that from?
00:56I read it on GB News today.
00:57Where have you verified it from?
00:59We had a bloke who was in accommodation. In fact, I think, have we got a clip of it? We've got a clip of it, I think.
01:04And we know that he was turfed out to put Afghans in.
01:07I think we've got a clip of it, have we? Yeah.
01:09I applied in May of 23 and it was rejected.
01:12Fast forward then to September 23 and suddenly a large quantity of Afghan nationals suddenly turn up on the estate
01:20and occupy a large quantity of the houses that weren't occupied,
01:25which then led me to being out, moving over at Christmas time with my family and any options of support gone.
01:33So, I mean, what sort of democracy are we living in where a court can do this, you know,
01:42and hide these things from not only us, the people, but Parliament?
01:47So you were a bit, you weren't happy with that clip, were you? What's the problem?
01:53I just want, that's one guy, right?
01:56You turned that into veterans are being turfed out of Afghans.
02:00We did have another one on Nigel Farage's show earlier on, I think.
02:02Well, how many? Because I do think there's another side to this argument is,
02:07we waged a 20-year war in Afghanistan.
02:11Right.
02:11And we're now turning into all these Afghanis who came here, who worked with our soldiers.
02:16Oh, no, wait, let me finish. You've had your moment.
02:18No, no, no, you've had your moment.
02:19You've cut into this.
02:20So you believe that our veterans that have served do not deserve to be in accommodation over five?
02:25That's not what I'm arguing.
02:26I was asking, where's your information from?
02:28And I wanted that verified.
02:29And at the moment, we've got two instances of this.
02:32So, OK, we can argue veterans, too.
02:34I don't agree with that.
02:35I actually don't agree that any veterans in our country, so two have been turfed out.
02:39Let's see if the government comes up with the fact that loads of our veterans have been turfed out to house these Afghans.
02:44That's not great either, is it?
02:46But let's just also focus on what these Afghans were doing for us.
02:50For 20 years, we waged a war in that country.
02:54And many of these men risked their lives alongside our soldiers, both men and women, probably kept them safe, helped us operate in a country where we had gone to attack them.
03:05And then what we're saying, you cannot come to this country.
03:08We should be waging war on the people who are coming across in the small boats.
03:13OK, they are coming here illegally.
03:15Between 2021 and now, the figure is 125,000.
03:19But you are picking on people who maybe help save our soldiers' lives.
03:23I've just highlighted that veterans of this country that you have just said have been turfed out of their accommodation for foreign people.
03:31We've got two.
03:32GB News has found two today, so how many are there?
03:34Well, it's fine.
03:35Let's wait and see until we find loads, shall we?
03:37Do you agree that we shouldn't house any of these people?
03:40Is your argument, so these Afghans who are coming over, who helped our soldiers, who possibly helped our soldiers and saved their lives,
03:46when they went there to fight a war, so you think they shouldn't come to this country at all?
03:50At the moment, I do not believe we have got the facilities, we have not got the money to do so, and we have not got the room.
03:57Have you got any children?
03:58I've got three children.
03:59Right, so if it comes to the point where we go to war at some point and your kids get conscripted,
04:04do you want them to go into a war where they may get helped by those on the ground,
04:08and then when we've won that war, we just leave them to be abandoned?
04:12You put the people of this country first, and we are not doing that.
04:15You don't think our soldiers should have been locked after by those Afghans when they were fighting?
04:20These people, our people need to be put first.
