The Immigration Department has detained 35 foreigners for working without valid permits at various shops in Johor Baru.

State Immigration Director Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus said the suspects, aged 18 to 55, were apprehended on Tuesday (July 15).

00:13Its state immigration director, Datuk Mohamad Rusti Mohamad Darus, said the operation was
00:18carried out following public tip-offs.
00:21Those arrested included individuals from Indonesia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Thailand, India
00:28and Afghanistan.
00:30Among them were six Indonesian women.
00:33Mohamad Rusti said five Malaysians were also issued notices to assist in the investigation.
00:39The foreign suspects were taken to the Setia Tropika immigration depot for offences including
00:44entering Malaysia without valid passes, overstaying and abusing social visit passes.
