In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we look at how we're very ready to point out the faults in others and very slow to see them in ourselves."It's a sure sign of pride when we're more concerned about other people's sins than we are about our own. The only way to get the legal team in our heads to stand down is to know that the verdict already in. "As a Christian, I believe that through faith in Jesus, anyone can be declared not guilty because he was declared guilty for us when he died on the cross. And when you know you're forgiven, you're finally free to admit the truth about yourself and to show others the same grace you've received."

00:00The Chibi News Daily Reflection
00:04Hi, I'm Chris Tufnell, a vicar in the Church of England.
00:10It's reported that in the early 1900s, the Times newspaper asked some famous authors to respond to the question,
00:19what's wrong with the world today?
00:21One reply read simply, dear sir, I am, yours faithfully, G.K. Chesterton.
00:29If we ran a poll on that same question today, I'm sure we'd get a wide range of responses.
00:36But I don't suppose many would say, I am.
00:41Over human history, the world has changed a lot.
00:44But if there's one thing that really hasn't changed, it's human nature.
00:48We're very ready to point out the faults in others and very slow to see them in ourselves.
00:54It's like in all our heads, there's a legal team ready to launch a prosecution whenever someone else does something wrong
01:01and to mount a defence whenever we do.
01:05Jesus put his finger right on the issue when he said,
01:09why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?
01:17It's a sure sign of pride when we're more concerned about other people's sins than we are about our own.
01:25The only way to get the legal team in our heads to stand down is to know that the verdict's already in.
01:33As a Christian, I believe that through faith in Jesus, anyone can be declared not guilty
01:39because he was declared guilty for us when he died on the cross.
01:45And when you know you're forgiven, you're finally free to admit the truth about yourself
01:51and to show others the same grace you've received.
