00:00I think they are fairly important yes, I wouldn't know how to safeguard them to be honest, more public transport maybe.
00:07Especially pubs with significant importance in the community, especially very old pubs.
00:15I think for example like the one behind us maybe needs like for example the blue plaque initiative to keep them safeguarded.
00:22I think the smoking ban has got a lot to do with it still, a lot of people like to smoke, you know a lot of people like to vape
00:28and not having that facility on the premises is you know it's killing it.
00:32I do think it's just part of the cost of living, people aren't being paid enough at the moment and then
00:38it's making it more difficult for pubs to stay up because less customers are coming in.
00:41Especially small-owned family-owned pubs have become a bit more of a rarity, you see a lot of them like
00:46more of them being bought by like like Green King and Beefeet and those kind of guys as well and
00:50they kind of lose that authenticity and that like that community feel and they become more,
00:54I don't want to say corporate, I don't know the words, I'm more like franchise and then they lose their soul,
00:58they lose their, their charm.
