00:00If you're looking for the perfect free summer activity for your child, we've got the answer.

00:04Do you know any children who love to read?

00:07Well, this summer they can join the Summer Book Quest at their local library for free.

00:11This year's theme is Deep Sea Adventure, and the quest becomes available on the 12th of July.

00:16It offers a refreshing change from the usual reading challenge,

00:19with children encouraged to participate in a variety of tasks alongside of the theme.

00:24Activities include drawing a sea character, whether that's real or from their imagination,

00:29or doing water activities, or even finding out fun underwater facts.

00:34To promote inclusion, children can either count how long they've read for, or how many books they've read.

00:39Some regions even have exclusive swimming sessions for those who complete the challenges.

00:43There are also science workshops coming to 19 of the libraries across Devon,

00:48including slime making, bubbling lava lamps, and a magnetic fishing game.
