Residents of an aged care facility in Melbourne’s northeast have been given a rare glimpse into the past from the comfort of their own home. The Greek Australian elders were shown a curated collection of ancient artefacts from the vault of the Hellenic Museum, which they used to visit on regular bus trips. Now, the museum staff have brought the exhibit to them.

00:09Residents of this aged care home in Melbourne, no longer able to visit museums themselves,
00:14had the history brought to them.
00:16We were talking for 3,000 years before, for Alexander the Great.
00:22Coins, helmets, an ancient song.
00:27It's called the Song of Sekilios, it is the oldest recorded song with notations that
00:35exists.
00:39Staff from the Hellenic Museum in Melbourne led the elders in workshops around board games
00:44and weaving techniques.

01:15That community, a testament to thousands of years of recorded history, still with so much knowledge
01:25left to share.
01:26As soon as you meet someone when you're in your youth and you click, you must marry immediately.
