00:00In Palestine, Israeli occupation forces continue their onslaughts in Gaza,
00:14killing over 50 civilians in the last hours.
00:16Since October 2023, 57,880 people have been killed in Israeli attacks, mostly women and children.
00:23In the United States, the Trump administration announced 30 percent tires on products from
00:32Mexico and the European Union.
00:34And in Venezuela, campaign activities of the Great Petrol Report moved forward in the run-up
00:42to the municipal elections on July 27.
00:50Hello, welcome to From the South, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Dele Sur Studios in Havana,
00:54Cuba.
00:55We begin with the news, stay with us.
01:15For the last few hours, over 50 Palestinians have been killed, including women and children,
01:19creating new Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
01:22According to health agencies, over 200 people were injured, many of them seriously.
01:27Emergency teams are having difficulty rescuing victims trapped under the rubble, so Israeli
01:31forces continue to obstruct their efforts.
01:34Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli aggression has killed over 57,880 people and wounded 138,000
01:41others.
01:42That's beside the thousands of people still missing, presumed to be under rubble.
01:49We all came here because we were told it was a safe area, so we came with that hope.
02:02Suddenly, at 2 in the morning, while we were sleeping, there was an explosion in my sister's
02:09room, where two boys, one girl, and their mother were staying.
02:14We found them shattered, with their remains scattered.
02:16We were sleeping in our tent.
02:21The little girl fell asleep and we put her in the tent.
02:24We were safe and sound in the tent.
02:25We are civilians and we have nothing to do with anything.
02:28This is a little girl, 1 year and 6 months old.
02:31What did she do?
02:32What is her fault?
02:33What did we do to deserve this?
02:49Went out at midnight, I carried my sister and put her in an ambulance, then carried my brother
02:54and put him in an ambulance.
02:56Went room by room, checking how my father and the others were doing.
03:00How many should I say good by toad?
03:03In this context, Palestinian health personnel warned that at least 67 children have died
03:10of severe malnutrition in recent months due to the humanitarian crisis caused by the Israeli
03:14siege.
03:15For this, specified that over 650,000 children at the age of 5 face mortal risks due to acute
03:21malnutrition.
03:22The vocation imposed by Israel since the beginning of March has completely stopped the entry of food,
03:27medicines and basic supplies leading to extreme famine in the coastal enclave.
03:32Different humanitarian agencies warned that 96% of the population is food insecure.
03:36Alongside at least 10 trucks carrying humanitarian aid enter the northeastern Gaza Strip.
03:48Authorities report the looting of one of its units with humanitarian aid and investigations
03:53are ongoing to find those responsible.
03:56However, the arrest of the food arrived at the distribution centers under the security
04:00of the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas.
04:02For this part, Israeli forces maintained the aggression since several points of aid distribution
04:07in the Gaza Strip as part of its genocidal plan against the Palestinian people.
04:12More than 40 people were arrested in the United Kingdom during pro-Palestinian protests.
04:24The arrest came after 29 people, including a priest and some healthcare professionals, were
04:28detained in Parliament Square last Saturday after a final legal attempt to prevent the group's
04:32ban under anti-terrorism legislation failed.
04:36Passed by Parliament in early July, the ban has raised fears about freedom of expression
04:41in the country as it equates Palestine action with armed groups such as Al-Qaeda and ISIS.
04:46This makes it a criminal offence to support or be part of the protest group, punishable
04:51for up to 14 years in prison.
04:53At this week's demonstration, protesters gather near a statue of former South African President
04:58Nerso Mandela outside the Houses of Parliament.
05:07Unprecedented violence from the Met Police, arresting Quakers, arresting 80-plus-year-old
05:13people for holding signs.
05:17We believe that the prescription is politically motivated and has no legal precedent or value
05:24or kind of consistency of application and we're here to oppose the prescription and we'll
05:33keep coming back.
05:34Well, it's deeply, deeply scary.
05:37And you know, we're supposed to have a right to freedom of expression in this country.
05:43You know, these rights were brought in after a genocide in 1945.
05:49You know, hardly to say never again.
05:52And here we are.
05:53Another genocide is happening in Gaza.
05:56The topic is Iran affirmed that it will maintain cooperation with the International
06:00Atomic Energy Agency but will change its format after joint Israeli and U.S.
06:05aggressions.
06:06Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakshi said that the new form of cooperation derives from
06:10the regional reality and the events against nuclear installations in Iran.
06:14The plan that maintains that Iran's nuclear program is peaceful, aimed at meeting energy,
06:18medical, pharmaceutical and agricultural needs and has been developed under the supervision
06:22of the IAEA and international law.
06:25Furthermore, Iranian authorities recall that they would not allow the entry of IAEA Director-General
06:30Rafael Grossi because Israel had access to classified information about their facilities.
06:35Iran has made strong efforts for more than two decades to demonstrate the peaceful nature
06:48of its nuclear program.
06:50If we intended to possess nuclear weapons, these conditions would have been the most appropriate
06:55to achieve this, but we consider nuclear weapons to be contrary to Islamic and humanitarian principles.
07:01The National Human Rights Commission of Kenya reported that a death toll in the recent
07:10social protests in the country has risen to 38, while the number of people injured has
07:15reached 130.
07:16These figures reflect an increase from the previous report of Tuesday, July 8, when 29 deaths and
07:22107 injuries were recorded.
07:24The protests, which reached a climax on July 7, coincide with an emblematic date in the
07:30history of Kenya.
07:31A day known as Saba Saba commemorates a historic 1990 demonstration in which thousands of Kenyans
07:36demanded free multi-party elections.
07:39Kenyans are demonstrating for better governance and police accountability, as well as demanding
07:45the impeachment of President William Ruto for alleged corruption.
07:55We now have our first break coming up.
07:56Remember, you are going to join us on Tiktok at Telesco English, where you will find news

09:11and to prevent the federal government from limiting the access of lawyers to a migrant detention

09:17The order was issued in response to a lawsuit filed in California District Court on June

10:37by the Trump administration to a maximum security prison in El Salvador.

10:45This is the name of the international organization that organized a rally to promote unity and solidarity
10:51among the peoples of the world to reject the criminalization of migrants on the basis of their nationality or race.

11:30At national level, the new electoral campaign started to continue the path of participative democracy
11:37where a total of 335 majors and 2,471 councilmen will be elected.
11:51Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez rejected the new sanctions imposed by the United States government
11:56against Cuba as part of the continuation of its aggressive measures against the island.
12:01The high official described this new package of sanctions as part of a prolonged and merciless economic war against Cuba,
12:07reaffirming that his country and its leaders would not bow down despite the aggression.
12:11The Cuban government pointed directly at the Donald Trump administration for promoting a strategy of regime change
12:16through a policy of economic asphyxiation in an attempt to provoke destabilization in the country.
12:22And Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canada rejected the new sanctions imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump against the island.
12:35Through his ex-account, the Cuban head of state said the following.

15:07In the face of the forest fires emergency in Latakia, Syria, several countries in the region joined the firefighting operations.
15:14Countries such as Lebanon, Turkey and Qatar sent ground and air teams in a joint effort to control the emergency despite international support.
15:22The Syrian civil defense warned that the situation in the mountainous and forested areas of the northwestern province of Latakia is delicate due to the weather conditions and the risk of explosions by unexplored munitions.
15:34So far more than 15,000 hectares of land have been affected by the flames.
15:39In Germany, a large forest fire that started in early July in the east of the country was extinguished on Friday, leaving extensive forest areas charged.
15:54This was the worst disaster in three decades in the east of the country in the border area between Saxony and Brandenburg.
16:14Hundreds of firefighters managed to temporarily contain the fire, which was aided by consecutive days of lower temperatures and scattered rain.
16:22During the disaster, the flames destroyed the state's fourth largest nature reserve, consuming extensive areas of forest and causing 86% of the trees to die.
16:31The Spanish Army has deployed a rescue unit in the city of Zaragoza due to flooding caused by heavy rainfall.
16:45Rescue teams continued to drain excess water and install road controls to prevent further flooding.
16:51Although there have been no casualties so far, the Spanish metro agency indicated that there was a high risk of flash flooding in eight provinces, including Huesca, Turuel and Barcelona.
17:00In the United States, communities in rural parts of Vermont woke up to find their homes and roads damaged once again due to heavy rainfall and flash flooding.
17:18Though the storms were not as severe as in the past two years, local officials were surveying the damage on Friday morning for Australia at the fact that they had been dealing with flood recovery for three consecutive years.
17:29According to the National Weather Service, Vermont's flooding issues can be attributed to ongoing climate change and the state's mountainous geography.
17:37The greater rainfall and increased moisture availability have made the state's steep terrain more prone to flooding.
17:44I looked out the window and everything was coming down over the road and down into our driveway.
17:55It's probably a good two feet from the road dropping down. It looked like a waterfall.
18:00This year by far did the worst amount of damage with the least amount of rain, which didn't make a whole lot of sense.
18:05I just think it came so fast that it was, it was such a flash flood.
18:09I looked out the window.
18:12An area of ancient native rock art in Western Australia has been granted world heritage status by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization on Friday.
18:35The committee and supporters here as UNESCO member states unanimously voted to inscribe the Muruhuga cultural landscape on the list.
18:44Native Australian's custodians and Australia's Minister for Environment and Water, Murray Watt, were in Paris for the verdict.
18:51This has been an Indigenous-led nomination and this victory belongs to the Dardanali traditional owners and custodians of Muruhuga,
18:59whose deep knowledge, cultural leadership and enduring connection to Australia are at the heart of this inscription.
19:13On behalf of the Australian Government, I am honored to accept this inscription.
19:18Australia is thrilled with the committee's decision to inscribe the Muruhuga cultural landscape on the World Heritage List.
19:25This has been an Indigenous-led nomination and this victory belongs to the Nardanali, the traditional owners and custodians of Muruhuga,
19:33whose deep knowledge, cultural leadership and enduring connection to country are at the heart of this inscription.
19:40We have all come here together and from far away from the Muruhuga lands.
19:47This has been a long-awaited journey and a fight for our elders, our Burdambara, our old people.
19:54And we are thankful to receive this recognition from a global scale. Thank you, everyone.
