00:09backstory, but it was ultimately cut due to space constraints. The background details of Superman's

00:14story are brief, establishing only the basics. Readers see a panel of Krypton during its final

00:20moments, although the planet is not yet named. A caption tells us the planet is dying of old age,

00:26so a scientist places his son in a hastily designed spaceship, which is then launched

00:31toward Earth. The scientist is not identified. The narration tells us that a passing motorist

00:37found the child and left him at an orphanage. Next, we see a panel of baby Clark Kent lifting

00:43furniture in the orphanage, to the surprise of his caretakers, followed by a panel where an

00:48adult Clark is seen displaying his powers. This seems to suggest that he grew up in the orphanage.

00:54The one-page origin story also claims that everyone from Clark's unnamed home planet had the same
