Platinum Wedding Anniversary for Leigh Park couple

Eileen (89) and Len Trodd (91) from Leigh Park, are celebrating their Platinum 70th Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

00:00So Eileen and Len, tell me a little bit about your last 70 years of marriage and how you first met.

00:07Well, very lucky in 70 years really, but before that I was 15 years old and Len was 17 when

00:15when we first met and going on from there. We met in Heaven Park. Yes, Heaven Park.

00:23So tell me how it's been, you know, and what the secret is to a long and happy marriage.

00:31We've been very fortunate, haven't we? You've got to be prepared to be given take.

00:39Oh yeah, yeah. It's agreeing most of the time, isn't it? And we have a lovely family,

00:51really lovely family. Two lovely sons. Yeah. Seven grandchildren. Seven grandchildren and 11 great

00:58great children. Yes. I bet they keep you busy. And they're all lovely. That's what a lot of these

01:05things, you know, they give you these presents. So you've got to have them on show, you see, for

01:10everybody.
