Carlyn and Ron Sproston will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on February 29.

00:00 The 29th of February was a Saturday in 1964 and we chose that day because it was the day

00:07 after Ron's birthday and in those days you had to be 21 before you got married or you had to get

00:11 permission and we couldn't get permission because his parents wouldn't sign so we waited till he

00:17 was 21 and got married the following day. After 60 years we are now celebrating our 60th wedding

00:23 anniversary but it's in fact only our 15th wedding anniversary because of all days to choose to get

00:31 married it was the 29th of February 1964. So today or today we celebrate 60 years or is it 15?

00:42 And then of course the best thing is we've got a letter from the king today. Oh and today we've

00:47 got a letter from the king yes and a few other dignitaries you might say. The governor general.
