A recent news report from ThePrint claimed that the central government has ordered a population-level study into sudden deaths among young Indians and suspected links to COVID-19 vaccine. The report, citing unnamed sources, indicated the Union Health Ministry's research department was collaborating with INCLEN International for an analysis of non-violent deaths occurring within 24 hours of symptom onset. However, on Wednesday, July 9, the government refuted these claims. PIB Fact Check, a central government unit for checking facts and busting fake news, explicitly termed the report's assertions as "fake". "No such nationwide survey has been commissioned by the Centre or Department of Health Research," PIB Fact Check asserted.
