Oregon Ducks Defensive Line Coach Tony Tuioti Discusses Defensive Linemen's Weight Gain And How They Are Better For It
Transcript
00:00I think we're on the left there.
00:05But you mentioned Tiona is like 345.
00:08He's not the only one around that size.
00:09I'm wondering with Terrence and he and Jericho,
00:12are they athletic enough to play together?
00:14Could there be situations where you see that
00:16or just kind of are those guys strictly a nose tackle?
00:19Yeah, no, they're athletic enough to play together.
00:21You know, Terrence Green is another large human being that's 6'6".
00:25They're both about 345.
00:28You know, we go back and look at, like, how much weight can they lose?
00:31They're just big humans, you know, and they can carry that weight.
00:34So it's hard to find those kind of men and be able to play that position,
00:39and we're fortunate enough to have them in there.
00:41But, you know, they also can provide that interior pass for us
00:44that we need to as well.
00:45You know, with their long hands and long levers,
00:47they can put their hands up there and make it really difficult
00:49for quarterbacks to get balls off, you know,
00:51so we can get some batted balls too as well
00:53if they can't get to the quarterback.
00:57And so, once you get to the plate
