Transcript
00:00Good morning, everyone.
00:08As Jonathan Landis said, this is a story of tragedy.
00:13There's also a story of heroes.
00:18Thank you for all you have done.
00:21Every first responder, thank you for all you have done.
00:25The recent numbers reported break my heart.
00:30And they break the heart of everyone up here.
00:35Everyone who's been working since July the 4th.
00:38I want you to know, I think it's important for the public to know.
00:43I think it's important for the families to know.
00:46In that emergency operations center, there's not little silos of departments and agencies.
00:51They're working as one team.
00:54With one pole.
00:56To find the missing, bring them home.
01:00I'm grateful for every first responder.
01:04Every helper in every field.
01:07Those who are feeding hungry.
01:09Those who are providing shelter to people who have no home.
01:13Those who are providing clothing.
01:15Who no longer have a home.
01:17I'm also grateful for the generosity of the world.
01:24Two companies that are hometown companies.
01:28Companies that started in Kerrville, Texas.
01:32Announced today and yesterday that they will be donating to the relief effort.
01:36Everyone in Kerrville is proud of H.E.B.
01:40And James Avery, Partisan Jewelry.
01:46That's a different name for so long.
01:48I'm sorry.
01:49Those two companies that started here.
01:52They're hardest.
01:53We are committed to helping others.
02:03After you all go home or go to the next story, we will still be here.
02:10We live here.
02:11We've lost friends here.
02:25If you feel able to donate to the relief fund, the best source we are recommending is the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country.
02:36There's a link at the top of that page to help you donate.
02:47Now listen.
02:49I'm married to a retired first grade teacher.
02:56And I learned a little bit about classroom management from her.
03:01If you yell questions at us, for a part of you, I'll pick some of those things.
03:06Okay?
03:07If you feel the need to yell your questions, I will feel the need to not answer any of those.
03:14In first grade, they've raised their hands.
03:17That might be a good start.
03:19Yesterday was a disaster.
03:22And I was embarrassed.
03:23Our town was embarrassed.
03:25Our viewers were embarrassed.
03:29And I don't want that to happen again.
03:31I'm going to do something I've been told to do.
03:36I'm going to turn it back to Jonathan Lamb to start the question and answer period.
03:40However, please make my retired first grade teacher's wife proud.
03:45Raise your hand.
