00:26When asked if the impeachment was the factor in garnering support for Senate President Jesus Escudero to remain in his position,
00:36according to Sen. J.V. Ejercito,
00:39Impeachment, sabi ko nga, ano man ang mag-imposition natin dyan, you just have to go through it.
00:45I don't think it has a factor in choosing the Senate President.
00:53Meanwhile, Sen. Ronald De La Rosa has confirmed that the so-called Duterte Block, or Duterte 7,
00:59already committed to support the continuation of Escudero's Senate leadership,
01:04which composed of De La Rosa himself, Senators Bongo, Robin Padilla, Rodante Marcoleta,
01:10Amy Marcos, Camille Villar, and Mark Villar.
01:13De La Rosa has yetto confirmed if his blockmates already signed the resolution to express support to Escudero,
01:18but he confirmed he already signed. However, he clarified that he isn't sure yet if Sen. Amy Marcos already committed.
01:26His stand towards impeachment is not a factor to our decision in choosing him as our Senate President.
01:39Ang pinaka-big factor dyan na nakikita ko lang talaga is yung pagka-open niya.
01:45Nakikinig siya. Lahat ng signs, pinapakinggan niya. So yun ang nagustuhan namin ng liderato.
01:51Meanwhile, there are reports saying that Sen. Bamakino and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan also supports Escudero.
01:58But how will this work with them with the Duterte Block, which is already known for being critical against each other?
02:05You know, in the Senate, it has been proven time and again, no?
02:10So, umpisa lang na yung political party does not really mean a lot.
02:16Especially with issues of national significance, we often, more than often, often than not, that we cross party lines.
02:26Hindi ko alam talaga. Hindi ko alam. Basta I joined the majority, not because of them, but because of the leadership of Sen. President Jesus Cudero.
02:38Meanwhile, Sen. Risa Conteveros, who campaigned for Aquino and Pangilinan during the elections, said,
02:44Hindi ako naka-hurt. Dahil, yun na nga eh, sabi ko nga, basta patuloy akong maninindigan.
02:51Kung ang bawat isa sa amin ay may sariling diskarte, eh ako rin naman po, basta nakatutok pa rin ako dun sa layuni na palakasin yung oposisyon.
