Tension erupted during former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Bangarupalem in Chittoor district. A massive crowd of YSRCP workers gathered near the helipad to welcome him. However, the situation turned chaotic as police resorted to lathi charge on the crowd.
Witnessing the incident, Jagan tried to step out of his convoy to meet the injured workers. But Chittoor SP Manikantha intervened and stopped him, even denying permission for a public greeting. Jagan was immediately sent to the market yard in his vehicle under tight security.
