00:03Raquel, go ahead.
00:04On the legal immigrants,
00:06Tom Holman told us this morning
00:08that ICE will have to arrest 7,000
00:10legal immigrants every day for the
00:12remainder of this administration to just
00:14cache the ones that were let in
00:16during the last administration.
00:18I'm wondering what the new resources and manpower
00:20of course given by the big beautiful bill
00:22which of course opens the door for ICE
00:24to hire additional
00:2610,000 agents and officers.
00:28What's the administration's expectations
00:30now for daily arrest numbers
00:32going forward in the upcoming months?
00:34Sure, I'll let the Secretary of Homeland Security
00:36and her department speak on what they're
00:38looking for in terms of daily numbers.
00:40What I can tell you is I receive the daily reports
00:42each morning and ICE is
00:44out there doing the jobs that
00:46they swore an oath to do and they are
00:48removing public safety threats from our communities
00:50every day and our country is
00:52becoming a safer place because of their
00:54efforts. And the one big beautiful bill that
00:56is now law will give significant
00:58resources to ICE and Border Patrol
01:00to continue the tremendous
01:02work that they are already doing and I think
01:04every American who wants to live in a safe
01:06neighborhood should be grateful for their efforts.
