In a press briefing on Monday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked about a pause on immigration enforcement in certain industries.

00:01The president said that he's working on a temporary pause for immigration enforcement in certain industries.
00:07I'm wondering what you can tell us about how he's determining which industries are deserving of a pass.
00:13He mentioned farmers, but what about, say, construction workers?
00:17Shouldn't there just be one standard here?
00:19I don't have any more details to read out for you,
00:22but what I can tell you is that the White House is working closely every day
00:26with the Department of Agriculture as well as the Department of Homeland Security
00:29when it comes to workforce enforcement, worksite enforcement, I'm sorry.
00:36And the president's focus and the focus of this administration is, of course,
00:40to remove public safety threats from the streets and to deport as many of the illegal criminals,
00:45especially the violent criminals that we know are still here because of the previous administration.
00:49So that's the main priority and the goal.
