00:00Thorns Park House and Rose Gardens were originally owned by the Milnes-Gaskell family,
00:06an iconic family in the history of Wakefield.
00:11But what people don't know about, past the duck pond, past the aviary, is this hidden pet cemetery.
00:19It's believed that the children of the Milnes-Gaskell family buried their pets here,
00:24including one of the biggest gravestones being to their pet, Mouse, simply saying,
00:30My Mouse. There's another gravestone for Sin, as well as Geordie, the dog.
00:37It's a fine example of 19th century Stern.
00:43Nowadays, there's also a bug hotel right in the centre, marking a bit of life.
00:49Sophie Maylan Maylin, reporting from Thorns Park in Wakefield.
