People in Wakefield liken the Merrie City to Center Parcs.

00:00I look like I've come down to a secret garden and it is a bit of a secret and it shouldn't be because
00:05it's a community garden here in Wakefield. Wakefield, West Yorkshire is rather green and
00:10we are known for as allotments. Apparently according to some surveys we're the second
00:16best place in the UK when it comes to the number of allotments per capita so per thousand people
00:22there's a lot of allotments although it's still hard to get one but what's great is there's loads
00:27of community allotments here like apple tree green tracks and there's all sorts of projects going on
00:33but what I'm questioning is someone actually said instead of centre parks people should come to
00:38Wakefield and I want to find out how green is Wakefield? Is it an equivalent to centre parks?
00:45I think it is in that I think we've got so many green areas and we can get out we can enjoy it
00:51and we don't have the limitation of it to travel because not everybody can drive so you can get
00:56your family together and you can go to the various parks lots of parks lots of green areas your
01:00community gardens and get really really involved and engage all generations
