Hyderabad — A holiday trip turned into a horrific tragedy for a Hyderabad-based family, as four members were killed and burnt alive in a road accident near Atlanta, United States.

The victims — Sri Venkat, his wife Tejaswini, and their two children — had travelled to Dallas and later visited relatives in Atlanta. While returning to Dallas after a week, their car collided head-on with a mini-truck allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road around midnight.

Local police said the impact set the car ablaze, and all four occupants were charred to death. The vehicle was completely gutted, and only skeletal remains could be recovered. Forensic examination and DNA testing are being conducted to formally establish identities before handing over the remains to the family.

Relatives of the couple in Medchal, Hyderabad, are in deep shock and awaiting official confirmation from authorities.
