Sharjeel Shahzad ploughed head-on into a Toyota Auris killing Shehbaz Singh and seriously injuring four adults, including both the toddler's parents.

The 30-year-old, who had never passed a driving test, was driving a Porsche Cayenne on false plates when it crashed in Smethwick, West Mids., on December 14 last year.

He then fled the scene on Dartmouth Road despite a witness remonstrating with him, leaving the child dead and his father Amritpal and mother Khushpreet with catastrophic injuries.

Shahzad was jailed for 15 years and four months at Wolverhampton Crown Court
