00:01Well, for the number 70 of Jorge Prado, hopefully he heard James' KTM keys to the moto because he needs to get out front on the start.
00:08This is one of the most proficient starters in the history of global motocross, and that's what he knows how to do is race from the front.
00:15He's never been a guy that can charge from the back, so get up there where you need to be.
00:20Follow that guy to your right there, Jet Warrens, around the first few laps, and the rest of your life will be much easier.

00:43We're working really hard, improving the bike setup since round one.
00:46See what he can do today in a field that just keeps getting deeper.
00:50Prado is getting better. Hunter Lawrence has made strides recently.
00:53Eli Tomek, of course, still in this field.
00:55Sexton's back.
00:56Corolli joining us for this afternoon and next time out at Spring Creek.
01:00It's amazing, the field we have right now.
01:02Yeah, we got the field, and it just showed you how good and dominant, actually, Jet Lawrence has been to handle this field.
01:09But I believe these guys are going to show up here.
01:11It's all going to start here off the start.
01:13They can start in front of them.
01:15We saw what Jet did last weekend, very quick in the early part of the race.
01:18So let's see if he can calm that down, and these guys can stop that from happening.
01:21Yes, it was alarming how quickly he pulled away at Southwick Lawrence, more so than he usually does.
01:27There you see Corolli on the Ducati making their American motocross debut as a brand of a factory team,
01:33we presume, out here next year, operated by Troy Lee Designs.
01:36This is a production bike, essentially a stock Ducati that they're trying to develop today.
01:41There it is, and Corolli, the proud Italian, let's see how he does.
01:46For the first time in 2025, Redbud, Rebs are up.
01:50Gates down.
01:56Hunter Lawrence leads them in.
01:58Is that R.J. Hampshire?
02:00Yes, R.J. been working on the starts on that Rockstar Husky.
02:04It pays off.
02:04He's second.
02:05Here comes Jet on his left.
02:07Yeah, good start by R.J. there.
02:09Jet slots into third place.
02:10Looks like Tony Corolli is up in the top five.
02:12Justin Cooper, Jorge Prada is up there as well.
02:15So what J.T. said, he must have heard that key to the race.
02:19Oh, yeah, he's challenging Lawrence for the third place spot.
02:22They're ganging up on Hampshire.
02:23No, Hampshire actually goes to the lead.
02:26Do it for Dade City.
02:27Come on, get some R.J.
02:28Have not seen good starts yet.
02:30It's a rookie 450 campaign for the 24.
02:33And with a start, he's showing you what he can do.
02:36Yeah, it looks like Jorge got around Jet.
02:37It looks like Jet's going to go back down to inside.
02:40But just, man, what a race.
02:44I mean, just what Jorge was able to show last weekend, you can see the difference in his riding style.
02:48So good by him.
02:49Hey, four or five passes amongst this group at the front.
02:53Hunter reclaims the lead from Hampshire.
02:56Prado in front of Lawrence.
02:58Jet Lawrence on the outside looks to get Prado back.
03:00Yeah, I was going to say Jorge was going to try to have to close that gap off.
03:04But Jet had to slingshot around the outside.
03:06You can tell they put a little bit of water now.
03:08And you can see how aggressive Jet is because he wants to get that clear racetrack.
03:11Not that he's worried about getting around these guys.
03:13But it's very hard to see when you're behind them, especially in these early parts of the race with these ruts.
03:18Plessinger getting in on it from fifth on the number seven.
03:21And Prado wants another piece of Jet Lawrence on the inside.
03:24Oh, man, Jorge messed that corner up.
03:26I thought he was going to have it.
03:27Doesn't go for a Rocco's leap.
03:28And just look how much time he ends up losing.
03:31Yeah, will Plessinger be able to get around him?
03:33I'll tell you what.
03:34A lot of lines on this track, at least in the first lap.
03:37They're all over it.
03:37Yeah, Jorge does get passed by Aaron from that Rocco's leap.
03:42He wasn't able to get it.
03:43Aaron ends up getting around him.
03:45So small little mistake.
03:47Love this jump that Jet was doing.
03:48Almost loses the front end with that water putting down.
03:51So Hunter Lawrence leads lap one.
03:53Hampshire, Jet Lawrence, Plessinger, Prado, Justin Cooper, Tomac, Corolli, Sexton Anderson, top ten.
04:00That is a deep field of talent.
04:03Now what we can hope for right here,
04:05Jet just gets hung up behind RJ.
04:07Not that RJ is going slow,
04:09but you know Jet's starting to see his older brother get away from him a little bit.
04:13And he's going to keep an eye on the guys behind him,
04:15Eli Tomac and that number one at Chase X,
04:18and make sure those guys don't keep peeping up behind him as well.
04:20First lap led for Hunter.
04:22He only had one this year, and now he's got another at Redbun.
04:26So controlling it for the front.
04:28As for Hampshire, talking to him yesterday,
04:31Presté said they looked at the data,
04:34and he was creating a bad habit of just revving the bike too much actually off the start.
04:39And he said,
04:40I didn't used to do it on the 250.
04:42Just some kind of nervous habit.
04:43I was giving it gas, but I shouldn't have.
04:45He had to try to fix it.
04:46He did today.
04:47Look at this.
04:48A pass.
04:48Justin Cooper around Aaron Plessinger.
04:51Yeah, Justin Cooper is moving forward.
04:52He was able to get around Jorge,
04:54and now see if his teammate can try to do the same.
04:56But I have to say that, Aaron Plessinger just gives them the business a little bit.
05:00I don't think everyone's trying to do anything.
05:01They just, lines came together.
05:03But just shows you how important this track condition is in the beginning part.
05:06These guys are really aggressive.
05:08A little bit of that first moto probably juices inside.
05:11Tobac and Prado battling behind Plessinger and Cooper.
05:16I'm just impressed at how racy this track is.
05:18We're seeing passes everywhere.
05:19Yeah.
05:20Yeah, it looks like Eli's going to try to go up his teammate.
05:23Yep.
05:24Jet working on Hampshire.
05:28And Hunter's starting to pull away.
05:30Here comes LaRocco's lead.
05:33Oh, man.
05:34In the beginning part of his races,
05:35LaRocco leads feel so good getting over.
05:38It feels so bad.
05:39And coming up short,
05:40as Justin Cooper just did as well in the background.
05:44Sting's starting to settle in a bit now.
05:46It's in the Pichetti.
05:46Well, you see Jet Lawrence here in third.
05:49And he's been trying to make some quick passes.
05:51But this track,
05:51this track's really sneaky as Jet goes up the inside.
05:54It's really difficult to make a pass.
05:56You wouldn't know it by that move that Jet Lawrence just made.
05:58But a lot of the lines here funnel back to the inside.
06:01So you almost have to set your passes up far in advance.
06:04Think about what you're going to do
06:05and execute it very similar to what we saw Jet do right there.
06:08Oh, that was beautiful.
06:09What Jet was able to do at the lap before.
06:11He almost lost the front end trying to hit the inside.
06:14And most of those guys,
06:14they've been,
06:15if they did jump in,
06:16they do cut back.
06:17Jet just jumped out,
06:18went straight through
06:19to avoid the front end
06:20and cut RJ off.
06:22Smart move on an 18.
06:23At one point,
06:24I thought the 18 might have been going down
06:26in those rollers.
06:27That bike was swapping side to side.
06:29And 50 feet later,
06:30he's made a pass.
06:31As we watch the Yamahas battle,
06:33Tomac versus Cooper.

06:55It's normally not like him.
06:57He kind of lets things settle in.
06:58But I think he senses that
07:00the race can go a lot of different ways.
07:02And if he's able to get out front,
07:03all these guys know he's in shape.
07:05And it is hard to run down to 18 out front.
07:07So I think him being very aggressive
07:09as Aaron is doing the same thing.
07:11But him being very aggressive,
07:12getting in the lead early,
07:13I think it changes the whole landscape
07:15of how these other guys
07:16are able to attack.
07:16And you can put a lot away.

07:20I'm looking at the top
07:21sort of like eight here.
07:22And I've heard from so many
07:23of these riders and teams
07:25obviously how important the start is.
07:27But how important those opening laps are
07:29and how challenging it is
07:30to be aggressive
07:31and ride with that intensity
07:33that you've talked about
07:34when you're not out front,
07:35like we see normally Jet Lawrence doing.
07:37And now he's having to be
07:38in that same position
07:39and battle through.
07:40Is that just the depth of field?
07:42Is that just the pace
07:44of those opening laps here
07:45that makes that so much harder
07:47for those guys to push
07:48if they're not out front?
07:49Well,
07:49I think,
07:50you know,
07:50with Jet doing that,
07:51I think his whole thing is,
07:53you know,
07:53all these guys,
07:54they don't,
07:55I don't know how much
07:55they really feel like
07:56they can beat him
07:57once he's out front.
07:58So him,
07:58anytime he gets in the lead,
08:00I think it changes
08:00the landscape of everybody,
08:02how they attack it.
08:03So for him being out front,
08:04his first lap,
08:05second lap,
08:05you know,
08:06changes for everybody else.
08:07Everyone else is trying
08:08to attack it
08:09to stop him
08:10from being out front.
08:11And so they have to start
08:12riding them really aggressive.
08:14And especially with this track,
08:15you can see the distance
08:16between first and 10th.
08:18It's 16 seconds.
08:19It's only been two laps.
08:20So this particular track,
08:21you lose a lot of time
08:22if you're not out front
08:23with these guys.
08:24So I think they're being
08:25very aggressive.
08:26But being the first motor
08:27of the day,
08:27the track is still breaking in.
08:29A little bit difficult
08:30for these guys,
08:30but they're really trying
08:31to go for it,
08:31Will.
08:32How about Blesinger here,

08:34He has passed Hampshire
08:35and has begun to close,
08:37although he almost goes down
08:38to the bottom of the ski jump.
08:40But he has Jet Lawrence
08:41in his sights.
08:42Yeah, well, I mean,
08:43this is his holiday.
08:44You know,
08:45if anybody's going to have
08:46some fan motivation,
08:47do it for USA,
08:48it is Aaron.
08:49And, you know,
08:50now you can start to see,
08:51I predict Jet's going to start
08:53picking back up the pace.
08:54I think once he got up
08:55in the second,
08:56he settled down.
08:56Now he sees Aaron
08:57catching him.
08:58So Jet's going to go back
09:00to work on Hunter.
09:01You can also see how dirty
09:02Jet's front number plate is, too.
09:05So another challenging part
09:06of this racetrack
09:07is that the soil,
09:09once you get hit with it,
09:10it sticks to you.
09:11Unlike some of the other races
09:12where it's just a roost,
09:13this third really sticks to you.
09:15So also makes a lot difficult
09:16for all these guys as well.
09:18Reset the order.
09:19It's Lawrence and Lawrence,
09:20then Hampshire
09:20and Blesinger are battling.
09:22Blesinger has that third place
09:23spot at the moment.
09:25Hampshire fourth,
09:26Tomat is around
09:27Justin Kubri's fifth.
09:28Cooper sixth,
09:29Prado seventh,
09:30Anderson,
09:31Barsha has climbed past
09:32Sexton to ninth.
09:35The rock star,
09:36Gascos,
09:36and Sexton is tenth,
09:38battling with Cooper Webb.
09:40And I think Webb
09:40might have just made a move
09:41on Sexton,
09:43but how about Sexton's teammate
09:44here in the Red Bull KTM,
09:45Plesinger?
09:47Rolling, JT.
09:48He is rolling,
09:49and coming into this weekend,
09:50I kind of set two goals
09:52that I thought AP
09:53should be aiming at.
09:54One,
09:54beat your teammate.
09:55You want to be
09:56the number one guy
09:57at Red Bull KTM,
09:58and the only way to be the man
09:59is to beat the man,
10:00and you want to be
10:01the alpha rider
10:01on your own team,
10:02but he's certainly doing
10:03that at the moment.
10:04And second,
10:04be on the podium.
10:05There is no better feeling
10:07here at Red Bull
10:07than standing there
10:08holding a trophy
10:09and watching that crowd
10:10go crazy.
10:11So you can see
10:11how motivated he is.
10:13He's closed down
10:14on these two leaders.
10:16Yeah, well,
10:16he is...
10:17From him.
10:17Yeah, he's being the man.
10:18I just like Aaron's line.
10:19He's really opening up
10:21the racetrack,
10:22so he's carrying
10:22a lot of momentum,
10:23and in certain parts
10:24of the track,
10:25he's really closing in
10:26on these guys,
10:26like the lap before,
10:28and close a lot
10:29into the mechanics.
10:30So a lot of that does.
10:31He's been able
10:32to make some passes,
10:33and he can kind of
10:34see where the other
10:34guy's breaking,
10:35but he definitely
10:35has that flow,
10:36and you've got to believe
10:36it's partly because
10:38the USA and everybody
10:39loves this racetrack
10:40as well.
10:41Bessinger has the fastest
10:42lap of this race
10:43at 2.06.
10:44Oh, and just like that,
10:45Chet strikes on Hunter
10:47to try to get the lead.
10:48Hunter fights back.
10:50Chet locks it down.
10:51Now he was going to worry
10:52if there was going to be
10:53a little turbulence
10:54on the airplane
10:55because it's collided
10:57right there.
10:57Oh, Chet got beat
10:58off the pegs, James,
10:59and Hunter drives
11:00right by.
11:01Yeah, well,
11:01there's the point
11:02of this whole soil
11:03of the ramp up here.
11:04You can see how quickly
11:04things can happen.
11:06They get in these ruts,
11:06and they're so long.
11:07Once you get stuck in it,
11:09rip both feet off,

11:11Chet going to come back
11:12on the downhill.
11:14Hunter able to hold it.
11:15Can he stay clean
11:16through these ruts?

11:19I think if there's
11:20anybody else,

11:22He had that pass made.

11:26as they head to the tabletop.

11:33the quick place,

11:44and try to get going
11:45because Jett does have
11:46a few better lines
11:46than Hunter at the moment,
11:49so nonetheless,
11:50no harm, no foul.
11:50But look,
11:51they already pulled
11:51four seconds on air
11:52and weren't even
11:53with all that battling.
11:54That was wild.
11:56They upped the pace
11:57and then Plessinger
11:57made a mistake
11:58and suddenly,
11:59yeah, a four-second gap
12:00between the Lawrence's
12:01first and second
12:02and then third.
12:04And you see it.
12:05Hampshire has been
12:06passed by Tomac
12:07and Tomac's on the inside.
12:09He's looking
12:09to get Plessinger.
12:11Yeah, that was weird.
12:11I was looking at Jett
12:12when he jumped
12:13at the LaRocca's Leaf.
12:15He pulled his foot out,
12:16so I wonder
12:16if he's having
12:17some cramping
12:18or something like that
12:19because that was
12:19a little bit of strength,
12:20a little bit of MotoGP
12:21kind of style.
12:22So you wonder
12:23if maybe he caught
12:24his foot in that rut
12:25when he got stuck
12:26over there, JT.
12:27Yeah, you know what?
12:28I think he jumped long there
12:29and a lot of times
12:30you'll see guys stick
12:31that leg out
12:31just to add some more,
12:33I guess, to add wind,
12:34basically to slow
12:35themselves down.

12:37like Tim Ferry
12:37do that in the past
12:38when you know
12:39you're going long,
12:40just add a sail.
12:41Add something out there
12:42to slow yourself down
12:42a tiny bit.
12:43Man, I should have
12:44added a sail a lot of times.
12:45I was overjumping
12:46up.
12:47So what do you do
12:48when you come up short?
12:49Yeah, no problem

13:00Now, so far this year,
13:01we've seen Eli,
13:02he's had the pace
13:03and a lot of times
13:04on some of these motos,
13:05Eli's been clearly
13:06the fastest guy
13:07on the racetrack.
13:07His problem is
13:08is what his problem
13:09is right now.
13:10He's got Jett
13:11in front of him
13:12and hopefully for him
13:13he doesn't get stuck
13:14behind the air
13:15because if he can get
13:16that open air,
13:17man, Eli can run
13:18at a pace
13:19that nobody can match
13:20on this racetrack.
13:21It's just once
13:21he gets stuck
13:22on these guys
13:22it slows them down
13:23and for whatever reason
13:24this year
13:25he's been stalling
13:26him out a little bit
13:26more than he has
13:27years past.
13:28So, so far
13:29Eli looks good.
13:31Maybe senses
13:31a little bit
13:32of missed opportunity
13:33of what happened
13:33last weekend
13:34at Southwick.
13:35He tries to get him
13:36but he's going to
13:36have to make a move
13:37on air
13:37and otherwise
13:38it's going to be
13:38a lonely third place
13:39ride.
13:39Yeah, but a lot
13:40of these
13:40it's here for Tomac.
13:41This is an opportunity
13:42though.
13:43Plessinger not clean
13:44through that corner.
13:46He's going to fight back.
13:47Oh, I see some steam
13:48coming out of the bottom
13:48of Tomac's bike
13:49but meanwhile
13:50he powers past
13:51Plessinger.

14:25at one point
14:26but Webb has dropped
14:27back to 18th
14:28and shout out
14:30to Tony Corolli
14:30who is at 11th
14:31right now
14:31behind Sexton
14:32so
14:33critical juncture
14:34James
14:34can Tomac
14:35bridge the gap
14:37to the Lawrence's
14:38yeah we're going to
14:38find out
14:39he's got that
14:39open racetrack
14:40looks pretty aggressive
14:41he's getting away
14:42from Aaron
14:43and I do believe
14:44the way this track
14:45is set up
14:45if Eli keeps running
14:46these outside lines
14:47he loves having that
14:48keeping those feet
14:49on the pegs
14:50just sweeping
14:51this whole racetrack
14:52and half this track
14:53is like that
14:53so
14:54love what I see
14:56from the number three
14:56just this next lap
14:58and a half
14:58is super important
14:59for Eli at the moment
15:00just try to keep
15:01that gap
15:01at least not lose
15:02this time
15:03and I think
15:03that it may have
15:04some confidence
15:04as he just lets him
15:06have it
15:06yeah
15:07big daddy out there

15:09some mile an hour
15:11through that corner

15:17has put in the fastest

15:29didn't get the start
15:29he won
15:30it looked like
15:30he made some
15:31got passed
15:32a few times
15:32so you don't know
15:33if you maybe have
15:33one of these small
15:34tempos
15:34which is easy
15:35to happen in this
15:36you know
15:37in the early part
15:38of the racetrack
15:38but now
15:39this might help

15:40I think this would be
15:41an opportunity
15:42just to get out of here
15:43and just race
15:44you know
15:44have to just work
15:45get the feet wet
15:46and all that
15:47make his way back up here

16:09and he came back
16:09at red bike
16:10and he said
16:11when he looks back
16:12to that
16:12he expected too much
16:13so he's like
16:14this time
16:14I'm just gonna
16:15I feel good
16:16I'm ready to go
16:17he's like
16:17at this point
16:18I just have to
16:18kind of cancel out
16:19those expectations
16:20but on the flip side
16:21of that
16:21he's also very much
16:22got his eyes
16:23on these SMX point standings
16:25going into the playoffs
16:26and he knows
16:27that if he leaves
16:28this any longer
16:29he's starting to get
16:29kind of geeked
16:30out of that top group
16:31and he needs to stay
16:32in that
16:32so a bit of a balance
16:33there for Chase Sexton
16:35to make sure he's in it
16:36but at the same time
16:37not put too much pressure
16:38on for missing so many races
16:39yeah
16:39yeah I mean
16:40I think that's the right
16:41thing to do
16:41it's just try to get out here
16:42I mean it's just hard
16:43for a guy like Chase
16:45when you have the number
16:45one plate on the bike
16:46you want to go out there
16:47and dominate
16:48especially what we saw
16:49last year
16:50being you know
16:51probably the best
16:52he's ever ridden
16:53in his life
16:53so you know
16:54watching Chase ride
16:55you can just see
16:56a few mistakes
16:57and that's just typical
16:57for a guy who hasn't been
16:58here but listening
17:00to his motorcycle
17:01I mean I'm not
17:02not going to be afraid
17:03to say it
17:03it sounds slow
17:04and it almost sounds
17:05like he's in too high
17:06high of a gear
17:08when you hear him
17:08in the corner
17:09really low on there
17:10so don't know
17:11if that's just the KTM
17:12or the way Chase
17:13is riding
17:13but we'll figure out
17:14how the race goes on

17:20he's lacking the intensity
17:21that we're used to seeing

17:24he hasn't raced

17:28these guys are in the group
17:30this is another gate drop
17:31they're in the midst
17:32of the season
17:33everything just feels
17:34repetitive for them
17:35where Chase is coming in
17:36cold
17:36trying to find the pace
17:38trying to find some
17:39comfort level here
17:40and you can see mistakes
17:41I'm sure he's frustrated
17:43inside that helmet
17:43running eighth place
17:44but absolutely not the start
17:46and the return to pro motocross
17:47that Chase Jackson wanted
17:48thus far
17:49yeah but he is trying to build
17:50toward those playoffs
17:52and trying to peak in September
17:53super motocross playoffs
