Hull KR 8, Leeds Rhinos 14: YEP video review

Leeds Rhinos coach Brad Arthur reflects on his side's sensational 14-8 win at Super League leaders Hull KR.

00:00Well here at Craven Park you can probably see behind me the reserve game

00:04between Leeds and Hull KR is underway and it follows a quite sensational

00:08performance and victory by Rhinos in Betford Super League. They've beaten the

00:13tabletopping Robins coming from 8-0 down at halftime to win 14 points to 8. The

00:18second half performance was as good as anything I've seen from Leeds for a very

00:22very long time. Packed with spirit and enthusiasm and the hunger and desire and

00:28skill. Really superb performance. Possibly a little bit fortunate to only be eight

00:32points down at halftime after Hull KR had butchered three chances. They got up the

00:37line three times from forward passes and there were forward passes. It was poor

00:41execution by the hosts but I 8-0 I probably expected to go on with the game

00:45but Leeds stepped up a gear after halftime and was superb. Sam Lissome scored the

00:50first try. That was converted by Jake Connor. Jake Connor kicked a penalty to

00:55level matters and then Leeds won it with one of the tries of the season. I said

01:00last week that I thought Calum Watkins' try against Lee would be Leeds' try of the season.

01:04But a different sort of try this one but it was quite superb and it'll take a lot of beating

01:10else. Probably Super League's try of the season I thought. Scored by Bucky Miller in

01:14the end after he handled three times. R.P. Edge had some great involvement and Connor and

01:18Ash Hanley. A terrific try and a thoroughly deserved win for Leeds who were

01:23excellent across the board really but particularly big games from Miller.

01:27Watkins, Calum Watkins again was excellent. I thought Sam Lissome made a real

01:32difference after halftime and Jared O'Connor a big game at acting half. He's

01:40keeping Andy Ackers out of the team at the moment. Andy Ackers is playing in the

01:44reserve game right now and that's a big call by the coach Brad Arthur but

01:51certainly justified on the form that Jared's showing at the moment. Sets up a

01:56really huge game now for Leeds against St Helens on Friday. Leeds have a poor

02:01record against Saints. The last time they played them they fell flat after a good

02:06performance the week before. They need to go out and beat Saints and do it in good

02:10style but if they play like they did in the second half today they're going to be a

02:14tough team to beat themselves. Excellent performance, great result, fantastic sport for

02:19Leeds for Leeds from the travelling fans who had a terrific party in that second

02:23half. A really good day for Leeds this.
