00:00Hello, folks. How y'all doing?
00:07I'm showing y'all what's been happening in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
00:13The blood splat led to a arrest of a 21-year-old in the mall of Louisiana.
00:22A quadruple shooting police scene.
00:25They called this clown here.
00:27Just one day after Baton Rouge was shooken by a gruesome quadruple drive-by shooting
00:34that killed two people and hard-fired dozens of onlookers outside of the mall of Louisiana,
00:39DNA evidence collected at the scene pointed police towards their likely suspect.
00:45However, it would be nearly too much before a 21-year-old, I can't even say that name,
00:51Demetrius, I don't even know, Graham was finally arrested
00:57and then connected with the broad daylight assault that took the lives of 18-year-old
01:04Dante Dorsey and 19-year-old Clifford Lindsey.
01:09The road that led cops to Graham started with a splatter of blood inside a Honda court abandoned at the scene.
01:17February 25th, authorities responded to reports of shooting shots fired in a 6300 block of Blue Bonnet Avenue
01:31near the mall of Louisiana shortly after 1.30 p.m.
01:37When they arrived, officers discovered four young men laid in the busy intersection,
01:44all suffering from several gunshot wounds.
01:48Two of the victims were transferred to a hospital.
01:50The other, Dorsey and Lizzie, died at the scene.
01:54Dorsey's uncle later identified his nephew as papa local rapper True Bleed,
01:59whose music has started to gain a strong firing on streaming platforms like YouTube and Spotify.
02:08After the shooting, the Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman for Lieutenant Gene McKinley
02:15said police believed that the victims and the purpose were known to one another,
02:22describing them as part of a rival group but declined to give any more details.
02:27Based on a witness statement and video surveillance taken from businesses in the area,
02:34an advocate for Grimes stated that detectives determined the shooter fired at the other car
02:40a tan Chevrolet Malibu from a white 2005 Honda car,
02:45which the aspects quickly ditched near the scene before making their escape in another vehicle.
02:52According to the affidavit, crime scenes investigators took blood samples from the abandoned car.
02:59A day later, police was notified that the preliminary analyzations of the samples matched a DNA profile
03:08consistent with Demetri Grimm.
03:10I can't say that name.
03:12The document stated,
03:13why Grimm was bleeding wasn't immediately known.
03:17The name was already familiar to law enforcement.
03:20It could say,
03:21East Baton Rouge Perry records show Grimm was previously arrested for carrying illegal weapons.
03:26It wasn't enough for an arrest,
03:30but it gave authorities what they needed to secure a search warrant,
03:34filing them to collect Grimm's DNA using a cheek swab.
03:40While Baton Rouge police work in their homicide investigate,
03:42the U.S. Marshal Middle Louisiana Fugitive Attack Team carried out Operation Washout Spring Cleaning,
03:50which targets violent fugitives in the Great Baton Rouge area during the month of March.
03:56At that time of the killing,
03:57Grimm was already wanted by the Chamber County, Texas Sheriff's Office
04:03for unrelated money laundering charges in the Great Houston area,
04:08according to an April 5th press release for the Marshal Service.
04:15As part of the task force efforts,
04:16he was eventually located on Lock Haven Avenue in Baton Rouge, Louisiana,
04:26March 28th in arrest for money laundering by Baton Rouge Department's SWAT team.
04:31The press release said,
04:33during the raid authorities reportedly seized more than $37,000 in cash,
04:38seven doses of excess marijuana, and a handgun.
04:41Following his arrest, police submitted the SWAT with Grimm's DNA to Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for comparison.
04:51The results came back weeks later.
04:53It was imagined.
04:53Addition to the money laundering charges.
04:56Grimm was rebooked into a parish prison on two counts of first-degree murder,
05:04two counts of attempt first-degree murder,
05:07and one count a leader using a weapon.
05:09More arrests are expected, and the investigation is ongoing, McClain said.
05:14The department declined to give any more details.
05:18East Baton Rouge area saw 149 homicides last year,
05:22breaking its previous set record of 114 in 2020.
05:27To date, the department has seen 31 within city limits in 2022.
05:32According to the number proven by Baton Rouge Police Department,
05:38the number does not include uncorporated areas or other cities within the parish.
05:45During a press conference at Louisiana State Police Headquarters Thursday,
05:50Police Chief Murphy Paul pointed to social media arguments and socioeconomic stress
05:58as major competitors to the surge in gun violence.
06:01He also noted that the city is struggling to keep its most vulnerable youth in school,
06:08leading many teens to be sucked into dangerous lifestyles.
06:11One of the things we talk about is the culture in the city of Baton Rouge, Paul said.
06:16We have got young black men in our city who doesn't like themselves,
06:21who don't love themselves, who kills someone who looks like them,
06:25who acts like them, who dress like them because they don't like what they see in the mirror.
06:31We no longer have a village, he adds, and we have to bring the village back.
06:37But, damn, this is, um, man, you know what I'm saying?
