00:00in one name that's very hot on the potential trade list could be the Pittsburgh Pirates

00:05starting pitcher George in Mitch Keller who certainly is not the ace anymore of the Pirates

00:11used to be that's now Paul Skeens another really good start for him seven innings pitch no one runs

00:16seven strikeouts against the Cardinals and one walk the Pirates are really playing a little

00:22spoiler lately seem to be getting some good pitching performances they got Bednar he's

00:26turned it around they're closing out games too little too late on the year George that's for

00:30sure but Keller is going to be an interesting and I think hot name come trade deadline time in a few

00:37weeks agreed and I think teams should be looking at him he's got 46 million left on his contract that

00:43might shy some teams away but a 15.4 million that's fine for an AAV right you'll take that as a good

00:50SP3 on a good team right so I think he will have value there as well I went the high end here all

00:55right that's exact real of the Philadelphia Phillies uh mainly because you know I always feel bad for

01:01Zach all right I also find it interesting he announced he's going to retire in two years right

01:04he's not going that's it this year next year he's done uh maybe before the uh the CBA problems I don't

01:09know certainly to come there but uh you know he's always second fiddle you know you know he always one

01:15of the best but then you know Striders comes along and Skeens comes along so he never he never really

01:19gets that Cy Young award pitch in a band box there in Philadelphia so he can't really make

01:23afford to make mistakes had a great start this week uh for the Phillies there but you know I just

01:29think that the Philadelphia Phillies the pitching staff as a whole sort of gets underrated here

01:32all right I mean you got Sanchez Suarez uh guys who I you know we don't talk about enough of those

01:38guys either but a really good starting pitch for Philadelphia it's why I think you know they they

01:42can be very dangerous I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that the Dodgers are going to the

01:46World Series especially with all the injuries they have Wheeler's healthy Sanchez Suarez could be a fun

01:51October so Wheeler you know is is going to be if not the starter in the all-star game he's going to

01:57be on the team George can you make the case that the Phillies could have four starting pitchers making

02:03the all-star team take a look at some of the stats here between Wheeler and uh Christopher Sanchez and

02:09Ranger Suarez and Jesus Lozardo had two bad starts this season and the rest of them I mean pretty darn good

02:16I mean I have have we ever seen four pitchers make it I can make the case maybe the Braves back in

02:23the 90s Glavin Smoltz Avery am I missing somebody they have a fourth Maddox Maddox so maybe I don't

02:33know offhand I didn't do the research there but I can see those four guys possibly making it

02:38so uh only that's the only team I can really think of that would have you think they'll get three

02:41I think they'll get that's okay we're a gambling show what would you set the number at two and a

02:47half I would take the two and a half two and a half yeah I would I'll take I'll take the I'm not

02:52taking the under I'll take the over then I mean uh and by the way will account for the pitch who drop

02:57out because we know there's going to be three four that drop out so that helps out as well plus was

03:01who's pitching on Sunday they're not going to play in the game right right so I'll definitely take the

03:06over I think I think if I was if I was gonna set a line as much we hate to do it it's gonna have to be a

03:10flat three there's gonna be a flat three here and you'll uh we'll take a push if we had to there

03:15but yeah you could make that argument Lozano did get beat up again yesterday by the way so uh

03:19well I said I think this is one bad start he was tipping his pitches in the others right they fixed

03:24that he came back here uh one bad start there I'm not all that worried about Jesus Lozano there but

03:29yeah I think you got I don't think they will have four but it wouldn't shock me if they do either

03:34yeah that's a good point guys drop out and in name only sometimes these guys are all-stars right

03:39they don't play but they're there and they take the cap off and then they go home right and that's

03:44you know a big part of you know some of these guys salaries too like they get bonuses and you know

03:48arbitration is just so wonky that these guys sit in the arbitration room sometimes and they make the

03:54case and say this guy was an all-star and then they're like oh okay you know that really means

03:57something because remember the uh people who do arbitration sometimes have no business whoever in that

04:03room they don't know what baseball is they just basically are you know your average person who doesn't

04:09follow the game and then they're like wow you know they're ruling on money it's kind of crazy

04:12uh okay so uh other good pitching performances George uh this week you know we certainly have had

04:18uh our fair share of a lot of these guys uh Yuri Perez on Miami probably had his best start of the

04:24season um anyone else that comes to mind uh to you before we take a break here I can go hunt the

04:30Brown uh Lucas Giolito wait what seven and two-thirds this is unbelievable that this is what this guy's

04:36doing here for him and Valdez been great all season long here Zach Gallin finally had a good start I'm

04:42not buying in by the way I don't think he's gonna be that guy guy we we want him to be here but he had

04:46a good start this week as well
