00:00French President Emmanuel Macron has hailed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's
00:07visit to France as a success, marking a renewed effort to strengthen ties across various sectors.
00:13Speaking at the Élysée Palace, Macron highlighted Anwar's high-level engagements during his visit,
00:19including meetings with key French officials, a speech at the prestigious Sorbonne University,
00:25and interactions with civil society and business leaders.
00:29Macron also called the visit meaningful, as it had been 15 years since the last official visit
00:34by a high-ranking Malaysian official.
00:37The approach between our economies, the diversification strategy that is ours is essential.
00:43I think the project that was signed in the sector of critical mining,
00:47in the rare lands, with the Carrester company, which opened a lake factory,
00:50in the transports, with a historical cooperation between the airlines, Malaysian companies and Airbus,
00:55but also in the energy transition.
00:58And I can remember, in the South-East, our support to the electric connectivity in the region,
01:03going to support civil nuclear.
01:06Meanwhile, Anwar expressed hope that the French President would visit Malaysia
01:10after attending the 20th Francophonie Summit in Cambodia next year.
01:15He noted that bilateral ties between Malaysia and France are growing stronger,
01:20thanks to the commitment shown by the French government under Macron's leadership.
01:24France remains one of Malaysia's top five trading partners within the European Union.
01:30In 2024, bilateral trade reached 15.95 billion ringgit, with 6.26 billion ringgit recorded between January and May this year alone.
01:43Following his visit to France, Anwar now heads to Brazil for the 17th BRICS Leaders Summit in Rio de Janeiro,
01:50held from July 5th to 7th, the final stop of his three-nation tour.
