Transcript
00:00This is not the only thing that we're watching. Of course, we're watching what is now Tropical
00:04Depression 3 off the coast here, spinning in the Atlantic. It will be making its way to the
00:09southeast coast. So let's give you an idea of exactly what to expect here with our latest
00:14iPath. Now, you'll notice landfall. We do have this as a tropical storm by the time it makes
00:20landfall in South Carolina. This is set to happen 4 a.m. Sunday, so Saturday overnight into Sunday.
00:25Then this will continue to make its way through South Carolina up into North Carolina. By the time
00:30we get to Tuesday afternoon, we are no longer a tropical storm. I mean, even as we get to Sunday
00:36afternoon, no longer a tropical storm. But by Tuesday afternoon, that's when we see impacts
00:41into Virginia. Now, what kind of impacts are we talking about? Well, let's break it down step by
00:45step here. Overall, overall tropical impacts, they're lower. Accuweather, a real impact scale
00:51is less than one. But we are going to see flooding. We are going to see storm surge. And we are going
00:55to see stronger wind gusts that can bring power outages and some damage here. So as far as
01:01rainfall, we're looking at two to four inches with your Accuweather local storm max of 10 inches of
01:05rainfall. When we look at storm surge, though, this is Friday night through Sunday, we're talking one
01:10to three feet of storm surge. That is going to bring some flooding. And that's not the only thing
01:15we're watching. Of course, I mentioned the wind as well. Here's a look at what to expect. Kind of the
01:19locations going to see the worst of it. We're talking 40, 50, 60 mile per hour wind gusts, which yes,
01:24is at kind of the lower end here. But that's enough to do some damage. That's enough to knock
01:29out power. And we've been talking about it is going to be hot in these areas as well. So we're
01:33talking about dangerous situations for some people when you're without power. You want to keep in mind
01:39some of those things and be making preparations now to prepare for the storm in general, but also to
01:43know what to do if you lose power and how you're going to stay cool, how you're going to stay safe.
01:48So we're going to keep in mind some of those things. We're going to keep in mind some of those things.
