00:00Hi I'm health reporter Sarah McCann. Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in the UK
00:06affecting one in seven women. Here are six signs of breast cancer that you shouldn't ignore.
00:13Every year across the UK 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer. That equates to
00:21one woman being diagnosed every 10 minutes according to breast cancer now. Around 11,500
00:28women and 85 men will die from breast cancer every year. That equates to nearly a thousand deaths a
00:36month and the cases of breast cancer are rising with one in seven women expected to be diagnosed
00:42with breast cancer in their lifetime. This is why it's so important to know the signs and symptoms
00:47of breast cancer. Breast cancer doesn't always start with a lump with Dr. Pallav Bradshaw.
00:53The deputy chief medical officer at AXA Health Insurance outlines six symptoms of breast cancer
00:58that you shouldn't ignore. Dr. Bradshaw explains these six symptoms can include a change in the
01:04size or shape of one or both of your breasts, discharge from either of your nipples which may
01:10be bloody, a lump or swelling under one or both of your armpits, a rash around your nipple or a change
01:17in the appearance of either of your nipples. If you're worried about breast cancer, spot any signs
01:23and symptoms or have a family history of breast cancer, it's really important that you reach out
01:27to your GP for any additional tests that may be needed. You can find out more information
