00:00It's Indian culture on display at the Modi Prasad dinner.
00:18Prime Minister Narendra Modi on a five nation tour.
00:21The second nation that he's chosen is Trinidad and Tobago.
00:24Dinner was served on a Sohari leaf, which means a traditional welcome.
00:28Remember, and for those who may not know, Trinidad and Tobago has a massive India influence.
00:35Generations of Indians, Indian origin, who have now been living in the nation
00:41and have, though still maintained, while assimilating with the Trinidad and Tobago culture,
00:47they have been able to also keep their Indian roots,
00:51many of them especially from the northern belt of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
00:55Look at that. On the table, sitting alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister of the Caribbean country.
01:01Dinner was served on the Sohari leaf.
01:04Bhoj Puri Chautal, Bihar Ki Beti message and then this traditional dinner.
01:11I want to quickly quote what the Prime Minister said.
01:12The dinner hosted by the Prime Minister Kamala Parasad Bissasar had food served on a Sohari leaf.
01:18It's a great cultural significance for the people of the country, especially those with the Indian roots.
01:23Food is often served on this leaf during festivals and other special events.
01:27Indian diaspora, meanwhile, to welcome Prime Minister Modi as well.
01:32The Caribbean influence, the Indian influence and the relationship between the two.
01:38Joining me now for the latest on that, Shivani Sharma.
01:41Shivani, it's very interesting.
01:43We would think this is a country far, far away and yet there is so much of commonality between the two.
01:49Tell me how Bihar has made a representation here.
01:54See Pooja, this is the beautiful preservation of Indian traditions and values in Trinidad and Tobago
01:59which was out of the 13 lakh population, 45% are of Indian origin.
02:04And this is very evident in the traditions they've been following and the kind of welcome gesture
02:09they've given to Prime Minister Narendra Modi with that traditional music, the Chautal, Dhol, Bajira
02:15sitting on the floor and the dinner that has been now served in a beautiful traditional style
02:21on those leaves, Pooja.
02:23And Prime Minister Narendra Modi has mentioned and reminded the people in Trinidad and Tobago
02:28that India is deeply connected to this nation because the ancestors, generations, they have been from India
02:35and they are preserving Indian values.
02:38They are also grateful to India for not only helping this nation in the time of COVID
02:43with the vaccinations that were delivered to this country
02:45and otherwise also the kind of relationship India montains with Trinidad and Tobago.
02:50Prime Minister Narendra Modi is carrying Jal from Saru River
02:53and also a replica of Nam Temple.
02:56He's called Prime Minister Kamala Prasad the predecessor Ihar Kibeti
03:00because her ancestors were from Bocsar.
03:02So this is how this whole beautiful connection of India and Trinidad and Tobago
03:08is very much evident in Prime Minister's visit
03:12when he's getting this welcome from the people in Trinidad and Tobago
03:15including the Prime Minister as well as the Indian diaspora.
03:18That it's a five nation tour.
03:20I want to just dip in.
03:21Let's go across to these visuals on our screen.
03:23The sounds, the dhol and of course the Indian connect.
03:45Trinidad and Tobago and traditional performances.
03:53You would think this is a country, a Caribbean country, but that's about it.
03:57Indian and its interactions, symbolic gifts were also presented.
04:01Here are some of the highlights about the connect.
04:03Trinidad and Tobago's Prime Minister and Cabinet wore traditional Indian attire
04:07to welcome Prime Minister Modi at the airport showcasing cultural respect,
04:11a strong historical bond and sharing that between the two nations.
04:15A traditional Bihari Chautal.
04:17So when Prime Minister Modi arrived at the first location,
04:29this, look at this.
04:30Traditional Bihari Chautal performance.
04:33Echoing through the air, Prime Minister Modi was welcomed in the country.
04:36Musicians playing manjeeras, dholaks as part of the official cultural reception.
04:41And that's not all, even the arrival that was met with the local artists,
04:58members of the Indian diaspora.
05:00So there was, remember what you can see, clearly the Caribbean influence of Trinidad and Tobago,
05:05but also the cultural heritage of folk music, rhythm choreography,
05:09Indian and the Caribbean nature here, putting for the compilers.
05:25PM Modi also interacted with members of Indian diaspora at the airport.
05:29They were chanting and greeting, shaking hands and acknowledging the crowd
05:32that had gathered to meet him.
05:33PM Modi also gifted the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago holy water from the Sangam and Saru rivers,
05:55along with a replica of the Ram Temple, symbolizing cultural ties,
05:59deep historic ties as well with the Caribbean nation.
06:03So this, remember, is part of the five-nation tour for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
06:13First official visit that happened to the Caribbean nation.
06:16First bilateral Prime Ministerial level visit since 1999.
06:20And therefore it was very interesting.
06:21Of course there were official business engagements, political engagements,
06:25but holy water of Sangam and Saru river from the Mahakomb,
06:28a replica of Ram Temple was presented by Prime Minister Modi to the PM of Trinidad and Tobago.
06:33This is also because of the historical ties with India.
06:37In fact, when the Ram Temple was being constructed,
06:39Trinidad and Tobago also had sent out gifts, best wishes and more.
06:44Prime Minister Modi expressed joy after witnessing this traditional Bhojpuri,
06:48Shautal performance that happened.
06:50So after the gifting that happened between the two leaders,
06:54there was literally a Bhojpuri, Shautal performance that happened.
06:59Calling it a priceless cultural connection,
07:01highlighting the deep-rooted ties between the two countries,
07:03especially this is eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
07:06Indian origin, families who have been living there for generations now in the nation.
07:11Prime Minister Modi said that Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago,
07:14Kamala Prasad Bissasar, is Bihar Ki Beti.
07:18He also spoke to those of Indian origin,
07:21especially ancestors from Baksar in Bihar,
07:24and that how even the Prime Minister has visited the place.
07:27Warmly received at the airport, ceremonial welcome,
07:30guard of honour and of course a cultural performance as well.
07:36You are not just connected by blood or surname.
07:42You are connected by belonging.
07:49India looks out you.
07:53India welcomes you.
07:56And India embraces you.
08:00Friends,
08:01I am sure you all welcome the return of Ram Lala to Ayodhya.
08:30After five hundred years with great joy.
08:39We remember,
08:41you had sent
08:45holy water
08:46and silas
08:49for building the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
08:53I have also brought something here
09:01with a similar sense of devotion.
09:06It is my honour to bring a replica of Ram Mandir and some water.
09:17and water
09:22from the river Sariu in Ayodhya.
09:26The journey of the Indian community
09:29in Trinidad
09:32and Tobago
09:35is about courage.
09:38The circumstances
09:42your ancestors face
09:46could have broken
09:49even the strongest spirits.
09:53but
09:55they face
09:57hardships
09:59with hope.
10:04They made problems
10:06with persistence.
10:09They left the Ganga
10:13and Yamuna behind
10:14but carried the Ramayana
10:18in their hearts.
10:20They were
10:21not just migrants.
10:25They were
10:27messengers
10:29of a timeless
10:32civilization.
10:33When I last visited

11:31and dominant
11:32global power.
11:35Under your leadership,
11:37India has extended

11:52brought the world
11:53to its knees
11:54while some other
11:56countries were
11:57hoarding medical
11:57supplies,
11:59you, sir,
12:00you ensured
12:00that vaccines
12:02and supplies
12:03reach even
12:03the smallest
12:04nations,
12:05including
12:06Trinidad and
12:07Tadej.
12:09This is possibly
12:10the longest
12:10overseas tour
12:11for the Prime
12:12Minister
12:12in a decade.
12:13The key focus
12:14is on strengthening
12:15ties with the
12:16Global South.
12:17This, remember,
12:17has been a massive
12:19project for Prime
12:20Minister Modi
12:20and the government
12:21to be able to
12:21reach out and
12:22make and become

15:44warmth,
15:44not only on
15:45the streets,
15:46but also within
15:47the parliament,
15:48where glimpses
15:49of Indian
15:49culture were
15:50seen.
15:51She is
15:53outdooring
15:54herself straight
15:55in front of

15:56So I thank
15:58honourable

16:43Modi is now
16:43in Trinidad
16:44and Tobago.
16:46Modi's
16:46five-nation
16:47tour is not
16:48just about
16:48strengthening
16:49bilateral ties.
16:50It reflects
16:51India's
16:52broader ambition
16:53to lead
16:54and unify
16:55the global
16:56south in a
16:57rapidly evolving
16:58global order.
16:59Bureau report,
17:01India Today.
17:02Air India has
17:10denied allegations
17:11of forcing
17:12families
17:12allegedly to
17:13disclose
17:14financial
17:14details.
17:15In an
17:16exclusive
17:16statement to
17:17India Today,
17:17Air India has
17:18spoken up and
17:19said that,
17:20and I quote it
17:20here from the
17:21statement,
17:21compensation process
17:23is being handled
17:23with flexibility
17:24and support.
17:26Air India,
17:26in fact,
17:27is claiming that
17:27interim compensation
17:28has already been
17:29paid to 47.
17:30families more
17:31are in process.
17:32Basically,
17:33this emerged
17:34when the family
17:35members started
17:35to say that
17:36Air India is
17:37putting a
17:38pressure on them
17:39over compensation
17:40claims.
17:41One of the
17:42lawyers has
17:42said that
17:43victims' kin
17:43are being
17:44threatened into
17:45signing a
17:45certain form.
17:47What form?
17:48The kin have
17:49been asked to
17:49show dependency
17:51for the
17:51compensation.
17:53So this is
17:53what has
17:53happened and
17:54this is huge,
17:55remember?
17:56Air India's
17:56statement as the
17:57matter is being
17:57now taken up,
17:58whether it's
17:59legally,
18:00the threat
18:01to sue
18:01Air India
18:02for the
18:03Ahmedabad crash
18:04but also at
18:06the juncture
18:06because of the
18:07compensation,
18:08that's another
18:08level of
18:09torture for
18:11the family
18:11members.
18:12This should
18:12have been an
18:12easy process
18:13but is there
18:14some forms
18:15that they're
18:16expected to
18:16sign?
18:16Air India,
18:17however,
18:17has very
18:18categorically
18:18denied allegations
18:20that they're
18:20not forcing,
18:22since they've
18:22said they're
18:22not forcing
18:23any family
18:23to disclose
18:24financial details
18:25and have
18:26said compensation
18:27process is in
18:28fact being
18:28handled with
18:29flexibility and
18:30support and
18:31that interim
18:32compensation
18:32already has
18:33been paid to
18:34about 47
18:34families.
18:36More are in
18:36process.
18:37A lawyer had
18:38said victim's
18:39kin is being
18:39threatened into
18:40signing forms.
18:41Air India,
18:42according to
18:43families,
18:44was pressurizing
18:45them over
18:46compensation
18:47claims that
18:48the kin were
18:48asked to show
18:49dependency for
18:50the compensation.
18:51so we'll try
18:52and analyze
18:52this further
18:53but remember
18:54that at this
18:55point compensation
18:56it's more of a
18:57formality.
18:59Lives that have
18:59been lost are
19:00gone forever.
19:01The least that
19:02can be done is
19:03that the
19:04compensation that
19:04goes to the
19:05right kit and
19:06kin and goes
19:08in a manner
19:09which is
19:09empathetic to
19:11say the least.
19:11legal editor
19:18Nalani Sharma
19:19joins me on
19:19the phone line
19:20for the latest
19:20on that.
19:21Nalani just
19:21put this in
19:22perspective.
19:23What are the
19:23lawyers alleging
19:25and what is
19:26Air India
19:26saying in
19:27return?
19:29Well,
19:29Pooja,
19:29we've got an
19:30exclusive
19:30statement from
19:31Air India
19:31regarding the
19:32allegations that
19:33were raised by
19:34the lawyers
19:34and essentially
19:35Air India has
19:36denied the
19:37allegations outrightly.
19:38They've said
19:39that they are
19:39unsubstantiated
19:40and don't have
19:41any valid
19:41basis but
19:42what the
19:43families in
19:43this case
19:44through their
19:44lawyers in
19:45a law firm
19:46based in UK
19:46called Stuart's
19:47Law have
19:48alleged is that
19:49Air India
19:50forced some
19:51of these
19:51families to
19:52sign certain
19:53forms disclosing
19:55their financial
19:56dependency on
19:57the deceased
19:58family member
19:59and what the
20:00lawyers allege
20:01is that this
20:01is likely to
20:02impact the
20:03amount of
20:03compensation
20:04these families
20:05will get
20:05because it's
20:06directly related
20:07to the amount
20:08of financial
20:08dependency that
20:09they actually
20:10had on the
20:10deceased family
20:12member.
20:13But Air India
20:13again has
20:14categorically denied
20:16these allegations.
20:17They've also
20:17given us details
20:18saying that 47
20:19of these families
20:20who were part of
20:21this air crash
20:22have already
20:22received their
20:23advance compensation
20:24in accordance with
20:25the Montreal
20:26Convention and
20:2755 other families
20:29their documents
20:29have been processed
20:30and they are in
20:31the process of
20:32receiving their
20:33compensation as well.
20:34But at the same
20:35time these allegations
20:36have been raised
20:36through the lawyers
20:37who say that
20:38they are advising
20:39at least 40
20:40plus families
20:41related to the
20:42AI-171 crash.
20:44There are no
20:44official lawsuits
20:45that have been
20:46filed in the
20:46case yet but
20:47that is something
20:48that is expected
20:48in the coming
20:49days and in
20:50the run-up to
20:51this fight that
20:52is going to
20:53be initiated
20:55before the courts
20:56either in the
20:56US or the UK
20:57over enhanced
20:58compensation for
21:00the families of
21:01the victims of
21:01the AI-171 crash.
21:03So primarily
21:04remember that
21:05in other countries
21:06where this threat
21:07to sue that has
21:07come in but
21:09imagine the
21:09family members
21:10the survivors
21:11left behind
21:12where the spouse
21:12parents children
21:13do now go around
21:15trying to get
21:16compensation done.
21:17Thank you very
21:17much for now.
21:18Nalini will be
21:19tracking the latest
21:19on that.
21:20Air India denies
21:21allegations of
21:21forcing families
21:22to disclose
21:22financial details
21:23while there are
21:24kit and kin
21:25via their lawyers
21:26who have said
21:27they are being
21:27forced to sign
21:28certain forms
21:29there is a
21:29dependency
21:30compensation
21:30they are being
21:31forced to show.
21:33TVK has filed
21:40a petition in
21:41the Madras
21:41High Court.
21:42They are seeking
21:42a directive to
21:43the police to
21:43grant permission
21:44for the protest
21:45against Thiru
21:47Bhuvanam custodial
21:48death.
21:49Remember recently
21:49the death and
21:50the video before
21:51that that came
21:52in showing very
21:53categorically the
21:54meetings that are
21:55happening.
21:56TVK had permission
21:57to protest on
21:586th July in
21:597th and July
22:00later the
22:01permission was
22:01revoked.
22:02TVK has filed
22:02between the
22:03Madras High
22:03Court seeking
22:04directive to
22:05Kamilad police
22:05to grant
22:06permission for
22:07the protest.
22:08Political
22:08showdown has
22:09erupted.
22:09Pressure is
22:10building on
22:10the DMK
22:11government but
22:12what a terribly
22:12tragic video.
22:13And remember
22:14one of the
22:14reasons that
22:15this case has
22:15been picked
22:16up is because
22:17of the video
22:17or visual
22:18evidence that
22:19has come in.
22:20Otherwise the
22:21police would have
22:21been able to
22:22easily deny,
22:24reject any
22:24claims of the
22:25death.
22:28Anagar Keshav
22:29joins me for
22:29the latest on
22:30that.
22:31Anagar good
22:31morning.
22:32Tell me how
22:32TVK is
22:33building this
22:33up.
22:34Why are they
22:34now reaching
22:35out for a
22:36permission to
22:36protest?
22:37A lot of
22:37political showdown
22:38on this
22:38tragic case.
22:40Well good
22:41morning to you
22:41as well Puja.
22:42In fact the
22:43TVK had obtained
22:44initial permission
22:44on the July
22:456th to protest
22:46against the
22:47custodial torture.
22:48But later that
22:49permission was
22:50revoked.
22:51And against that
22:52the TVK party
22:53has now appealed
22:54to the Madras
22:54High Court seeking
22:55a directive to the
22:57Tamil Nadu police
22:57to give them
22:58permission to
22:59protest in
23:00Sivananda Salai
23:01against the
23:01custodial torture.
23:02In fact earlier
23:03Vijay had also
23:04met with the
23:05family of
23:05deceased Ajit
23:06Kumar and he
23:07also believed
23:07that he paid
23:08them 2 lakh
23:09rupees in cash
23:10as compensation
23:11and he also
23:12assured the
23:13family of all
23:14possible support.
23:15But now the
23:15party has decided
23:17to protest against
23:18the custodial
23:19death in
23:20Chennai Sivaganga
23:21Salai and
23:21therefore they
23:23have appealed
23:24to the Madras
23:25High Court to
23:26give permission
23:26for their
23:27protest on
23:28July 6th.
23:29Anagar will
23:30be tracking
23:31this more.
23:31Eventually remember
23:32it is to
23:33ensure that
23:34such custodial
23:35deaths do
23:36not happen and
23:36that's where
23:37perhaps the
23:37political pressure
23:38also needs to
23:39be stepped up.
23:43All eyes on
23:44who will be
23:45the next BJP
23:46president.
23:47JP Nadda's
23:48term as the
23:48BJP chief ended
23:49in January 2023
23:50but the party
23:51extended the
23:51tenure at
23:52least about
23:52June 2024
23:53because there
23:54were Lok Sabai
23:54elections as
23:55well.
23:56But now amid
23:56the deadlock
23:57over the new
23:57party chief the
23:58BJP's likely
23:59as sources are
24:00telling us may
24:01appoint a woman
24:02as the next
24:03national president.
24:05The move
24:05backed by the
24:06RSS could
24:07mark a historic
24:08first for the
24:09party.
24:10Over recent
24:10election cycles
24:11women voters
24:12have played a
24:12pivotal role in
24:13securing BJP
24:14victory especially
24:15for example in
24:15Maharashtra,
24:16Hariana,
24:16Delhi.
24:17So this is
24:17something that the
24:18BJP is
24:19considering now if
24:20the party will
24:21be led by a
24:22woman president
24:22this time.
24:23Who are the
24:23names?
24:24Union Finance
24:25Minister Nirmala
24:25Sitaraman recently
24:26held a high-level
24:27meeting with
24:27current BJP
24:28president JP
24:29Nadda.
24:29Another name is
24:30Deepur Andeshwari,
24:31the BJP's former
24:32Andhra Pradesh
24:32state president.
24:34Vanati Srinivasan
24:35currently represents
24:36Coimbatore South in
24:37the state assembly.
24:38The move will be
24:39discussed though during
24:40the three-day RSS
24:41meeting in Delhi as
24:42well.
24:42Sources reveal RSS
24:43has endorsed the
24:44idea of appointing a
24:46woman this time to
24:47the party's top
24:48position.
24:48It's symbolic,
24:49it's strategic and
24:51a female leadership
24:52may cater to the
24:53female vote base as
24:54well.
24:57Ishwara Paliwal joins
24:58me for the latest on
24:59that.
24:59Ishwara, this is very
25:00interesting.
25:01What are you picking
25:02up and I wonder if
25:03this is a speculation,
25:05could this really
25:05happen and then who
25:07would it be?
25:09Well, you know,
25:10Puja, one thing is
25:11very, very clear that
25:11the Bharti Janata
25:12Party is now making
25:13sure that they cater to
25:14all the sectors.
25:15That's something that
25:16they now really need to
25:17look at, if you look
25:17at the elections that
25:18are upcoming in the
25:19state of West
25:20Bengal, these are
25:21very crucial states
25:22for the Bharti
25:23Janata Party.
25:24So keeping all these
25:24things in mind from
25:25what we are
25:26understanding at the
25:27moment, it will be
25:28very, very important
25:28for BGP to make
25:29sure that someone who
25:30understands RSA,
25:31someone who understands
25:32BGP and someone
25:33who has that kind of
25:34charisma to take the
25:35party forward, that's
25:36something that the RSS
25:37and the BGP are
25:38looking at.
25:38Let me tell you, the
25:39RSS team, Rwan
25:40Bangor, is in the
25:41national capital till
25:42the 10th of July.
25:43So we should expect
25:44some kind of talks
25:45taking place with BGP
25:46and the RSS.
25:47Let me also tell you,
25:48Pooja, RSS at the
25:49moment is saying that
25:50they want to make
25:50sure that the future
25:51of the BGP is
25:52secure.
25:53That's what the
25:53conversation between
25:54the BGP and the
25:55RSS has been taking
25:56place.
25:56They also want to
25:57now make sure that
25:58the party is thinking
25:5930 years ahead, 40
26:00years ahead.
26:01So that's the kind
26:01of thinking that's
26:03taking place in RSS
26:04and BGP.
26:05So with the Bharti
26:05Janata Party, they
26:06may have a president
26:07who's a woman, but
26:09Aishwara, like you
26:09and I know, sometimes
26:11the front runners are
26:12not the eventual names
26:13that are chosen for
26:14the BJP.
26:15So we'll see finally
26:16what is the decision
26:17that would be taken
26:18and will that help
26:19BJP steer for further
26:21victories of elections.
26:23Thank you very much.
26:23The state of war
26:25Bihar heats up.
26:26Political parties have
26:27begun strategizing
26:28election prospects.
26:29OVC's AIMIM has
26:31expressed intent to
26:33join the opposition's
26:34Mahagat Bandhan.
26:35RJD has said Lalu
26:36Prasad Yadav will
26:36eventually decide if
26:37there is going to be
26:38an alliance on this.
26:39BJP has slammed the
26:40opposition.
26:41But it's interesting.
26:42AIMIM has expressed
26:43intent to join the
26:44Mahagat Bandhan to
26:45fight elections together
26:46as one entity.
26:48AIMIM has urged
26:49Lalu Prasad Yadav to
26:50include the party in the
26:51upcoming elections as
26:52secular votes should
26:54not be divided.
26:55RJD meanwhile has
26:56said that OVC's
26:57AIMIM is BJP's
26:59B-team.
27:00Final decision on
27:01the alliance will be
27:02taken by the
27:02Supremo, Lalu Prasad
27:03Yadav and possibly
27:04Tijashvi Yadav as well.
27:06Now the BJP has
27:06jumped in on this.
27:07They are saying that
27:08AIMIM was being
27:10roped into the alliance
27:10to only create a
27:12communal divide ahead
27:13of elections.
27:37
27:46
28:04AIMIM, which wants to be informed, but AIMIM, which has recorded track record,
28:12has been being made by B-Team, and has been doing a job.
28:15BJP has been working on the job for the work of the Jadav Gijay,
28:18and has worked on the Jadav Gijay for the Jadav Gijay.
28:26But this Jadav Gijay is making this Jadav Gijay,
28:30and this Jadav Gijay is making this Jadav Gijay.
29:50So this is going to be interesting, remember till now there's been this charge allegation against the AIMIM if it's a BJPB team, even though of course the AIMIM has denied it.
30:02Could there be a Mahagatbandhan and if AIMIM primarily catering to the Muslim votes does join the Mahagatbandhan, the Muslim Yadav alliance that is being seen as a core vote when it comes to the Mahagatbandhan, will that get support, addition or could there be distrust?
30:20This remember is a very crucial election, I'm talking about 243 assembly seat, a massive state, huge political significance as well and a political survival of the double engine Sarkar of the NDA but also for the Mahagatbandhan to return this time.
30:36Interestingly you should know in Bihar there has always been a coalition at least in the past few decades and therefore can this point, this will add on to that coalition and make it easy.
30:48Rohit Singh joins me for the latest on that. Rohit, interesting isn't it, usually the AIMIM contests alone, this time expressing vocal willingness that we want to be a part of the Mahagatbandhan.
31:00What do you think will possibly be the decision of the RJD, how will they decide over it?
31:05Poojasi, it's not that OVSI has always wanted to contest alone in Bihar in 2019, I beg your pardon, in 2020 assembly elections, that's the last assembly elections and then in 2024 general elections that took place.
31:25OVSI had approached Mahagatbandhan and he had, in fact he had spoken to a lot of leaders asking them to be part of the Mahagatbandhan, he wanted to be part of the Mahagatbandhan but Mahagatbandhan did not entertain him because of the track record that OVSI has, always being called as the B team of the BJP.
31:47So that is what happened. And now this time also OVSI's party has now written a letter to Lalu Prasad and all the other alliance partners, their leaders also, again expressing their interest in being part of the Mahagatbandhan.
32:00And what I see is that this step that has been taken by OVSI is more of a publicity stunt, I can say, to shed the image of that OVSI is a B team of the BJP.
32:14Because what I think is that by writing this letter, now OVSI has made it very clear of his intentions.
32:19He will, if he is not entertaining the Mahagatbandhan, at least he can go out to the voters in the upcoming elections, he can campaign and he can say that I wanted to be part of the Mahagatbandhan, I wanted that the secular votes should remain intact, there should be no fragmentation of the secular votes.
32:33But it's Lalu Prasad, Tejasvi Adha, the Congress who did not entertain him.
32:37So that's the narrative that OVSI wants to set as far as the assembly elections in the state is concerned.
32:42So that is why this step has been taken.
32:45But you never know, because it's OVSI who dented Tejasvi Adha the most in the last assembly elections.
32:52So if Lalu Prasad thinks, maybe hypothetically also, that okay, let's entertain OVSI, let's bring him into the Mahagatbandhan, then obviously that would augur well for Tejasvi Adha, because the Muslim vote will not get fragmented.
33:07But as I have been covering Bihar for a long time, I feel that this is more of a stunt by the AIMIM to shed its image that it's a B-team of the BJP.
33:20So now all eyes will be on whether the RJD decides to go ahead with it and the Mahagatbandhan will have another alliance partner and that would be the AIMIM.
33:27Thank you very much Rohit, we'll be tracking more on that.
33:30So stay tuned about what unfolds in Bihar elections are expected October, November by the end of this year.
33:37Team India is unlikely to travel to Bangladesh to the white ball city.
33:46A top source in the know of the development has told India today that since the political situation of Bangladesh is not okay right now, in the light of diplomatic standoff as well with the Indian government,
33:58we are told that they have been advised that they have advised BCCI not to go ahead with the tour.
34:03Official confirmation though is awaited from BCCI's end, they'll have to decide what happens.
34:09But for now, we are told that it does appear that for the white ball series coming up, Team India is unlikely to travel.
34:17Let's get that clarity from my colleague Nitin Srivastav joining me now.
34:21Nitin, tell me first, when is the series and why is there this uncertainty about the Team India?
34:27Well, Pooja, a series is scheduled for next month and the day this series was announced, it was almost, almost clear that it is going to be a very unlikely thing that India will travel to Bangladesh to participate in this, you know, white ball series.
34:42India is actually, as per the schedule, is, you know, they'll play three TTT and three ODIs.
34:49But what my sources are telling me that almost, almost this series has been cancelled.
34:56Why?
34:57Because the political situation in Bangladesh is not currently okay and the safety and security of Indian players are paramount for BCCI.
35:05Secondly, BCCI had, you know, asked the government to, you know, go ahead with this series or not to go ahead with this series.
35:13So, apparently, government has said that, you know, the situation is not okay there and they have advised, you know, the government had advised BCCI to not to proceed with the, you know, this series.
35:25So, as of now, when we speak, there is no official confirmation from BCCI.
35:29But what my sources are telling you that, yes, this white ball series is not going to happen anymore.
35:35It may be rescheduled for later time, but at present, at present, this has been cancelled.
35:42So, you know, it was already, you know, somewhere in the...
35:47News, Nitin, that you're telling us and whether the BCCI will, of course, officially go with this, could there be a change, we'll be tracking that for now.
35:54But next month, the scheduled series, Team India, in all likelihood, is not travelling to Bangladesh for the ODI series.
36:12Maharashtra's minister hits out at the MNS over the assaults.
36:16That viral video of a shopkeeper being slapped repeatedly for not speaking in Marathi.
36:22Maharashtra's minister has said, no courage to impose Marathi on Muslims.
36:27That's Rani speaking.
36:29Nitish Rani says, MNS can only attack innocent Hindus.
36:32So now this has turned political as well.
36:34And remember the question that many have been asking, MNS isn't even in the government, not associated with the ruling party.
36:41How are its goons going around slapping people because they are unable to speak Marathi?
36:46Let's listen in to Nitish Rani.
37:15foreign
37:18foreign
37:29foreign
37:34foreign
37:39foreign
37:42So our government will open up so much.
37:46You are so f***ing.
37:47You are so f***ing.
37:48You are so f***ing.
37:50You are so f***ing.
37:51You are so f***ing.
37:53You are so f***ing.
37:55MNF Neta also has added meanwhile, their youngsters made a mistake.
38:02So that's also a part of his elaborate statement, though he has said, you go around targeting
38:06Hindus because it's easier to slap Hindus and Hindu shopkeepers.
38:11He wouldn't dare do it to those residing in the Muslim dominant areas.
38:17Let's listen in to more reactions.
38:41They have added them all and then the ratcha was released.
38:45So the ratcha was not the ratcha.
38:47The ratcha was not the ratcha.
38:48The ratcha was the ratcha.
38:49The ratcha was the ratcha.
38:50The ratcha was the ratcha.
38:52My colleague Vidya joins me for the latest on that.
38:57Vidya, so a huge political showdown.
38:59So what is the government doing about this, this behaviour rather than just statements?
39:03How do you look at how the netas are reacting?
39:05Well, of course there's an entire political slugfest that has really started on this, especially
39:12in the backdrop of the entire Vidhan Mavan assembly session that is really a budget session
39:17that is going on.
39:18But of course, you know, the government has taken its clear stand that there is an F.I.R.
39:25registered, there is a crime that has happened and the legal, you know, the investigation
39:28will happen and the legal course will ensue.
39:30But at the moment, yes, the opposition not letting it down, you know, they are making it
39:37mature.
39:38You know, in fact, we do have, you know, former MP Sanjay Nirupam now going and, you know,
39:45meeting these people and then going and speaking to the investigators as well as to what they
39:51are really doing.
39:52So, of course, you know, and we have seen as to how MNS has also dug its feet and said
39:58that they will not budge and that what they have done is not wrong, that the people who
40:03are aware is in Maharashtra have to speak Marathi.
40:06So, obviously, you know, this has become of a more slugfest that we are seeing political
40:11in the view that everyone wants to speak on this issue and put their mind forward.
40:17Any details now that you said that traders have been protesting, but it's not just one
40:22incident, right?
40:23More and more people we see, especially from the MNS, are coming forward to indulge in this
40:28behavior.
40:29I wonder if this has a connect to the upcoming, the Briand Mumbai Municipal Corporation elections
40:33to show that we are more connected to the Marathi ethos.
40:38Well, I remember there was a GR for the implementation of Hindi as a third language in schools, which was
40:45opposed severely by the MNS and the Shirsen of the UBT as well.
40:49But of course, you know, the MNS very sure that they did not want to get a third language.
40:56Hindi as imposed as a third language.
40:59And that's the reason they had protested much more.
41:02And it is, you know, in this backdrop itself, we see that, you know, this entire protest has
41:09also happened.
41:10Remember, there's a victory rally for the GR scrapping that is going to happen tomorrow.
41:15So, all these issues are there.
41:17And of course, as you mentioned, that the election is going to be happening in the next couple
41:21of months, that we will see.
41:22So, you know, all the parties have already started preparing and putting force there,
41:27how everyone's representing the Marathi Manus of Mumbai.
41:32One of the reasons also is, of course, because of the upcoming elections in this.
41:38Vidya, stay on with me.
41:39I want the viewer to first watch what happened.
41:42The video that's been going viral.
41:43I'm sure most of us have seen it already on social media.
41:46But then there appears to be a clarification, an apology.
41:50What happened?
41:51Let's take a look at both these videos.
