00:00Clayton Kershaw does inevitably get to 3,000 strikeouts last night.
00:06And, I mean, he's a bona fide first ballot Hall of Famer.
00:09We just haven't seen that much of him over the last couple of years, which is natural.
00:13But, I mean, here we are with Max Scherzer at the end of his time and Verlander.
00:18And, I mean, the only one going strong right now is Kershaw.
00:20It's kind of crazy.
00:22Yeah, you know, what's really interesting about where he's at in his career is you look at last night,
00:27and it was not a very good start.
00:28It, for a while, didn't look like he was going to get his third strikeout.
00:32Honestly, it kind of didn't look like he might make it out of the first inning for a little bit.
00:36But he battled, and he got through six innings, and he got the 3Ks.
00:39We got the big moment for the 3,000th and all that good stuff.
00:43And, ultimately, the Dodgers wind up winning that game.
00:47What's amazing about him right now is they actually really need him,
00:50like giving the injuries to their rotation and all their pitchers and what they've dealt with.
00:55They need him to pitch well.
00:56And he certainly hasn't been his, you know, vintage self.
01:00No one would expect him to be.
01:01But he's been solid.
01:03He's been serviceable.
01:04And even last night when he was clearly fighting it from inning one and struggling,
01:09he did enough to, you know, get through those six innings and give them a chance later in the game.
01:16And so it's really – it's a weird juxtaposition.
01:18This isn't just a retirement tour where he's going out and the games don't really matter.
01:22Obviously, he's playing for one of the best teams in baseball, and he's in a position where they actually need him to do well.
01:28So it was actually kind of really fun watching the game for that reason last night on top of all the history
01:33and just celebrating his great career.
