Emil Riis Jakobsen excited by joint Bristol City

00:00Bristol City's new striker signing, Emile Rhys-Jacobsen, has said that he is excited by the prospect of joining the Robins,

00:09having played against them last season for Preston, and now he says he cannot wait to play in front of the supporters at Ashtongate

00:16and experience the atmosphere he has only currently experienced playing against them.

00:22I think towards the end of the season, I think the club knew I wasn't going to sign,

00:27and so I didn't play at the start of the game, but then obviously we got a bit into the relegation battle,

00:35so I was back in the team and helped the team out.

00:38So, yeah, hopefully ending the season with two goals was good for me.

00:44There's been a lot of talk about clubs wanting to sign you. Why have you chosen Bristol City?

00:49I think it's an exciting club. The young players in the squad have got a lot of potential,

00:54so it's definitely a club that's got the right ambitions for me.

01:00So, yeah, happy to be here, and hopefully I can be a part of the dream to go to the next level.

01:06And Bristol Rovers' new man, Josh McCreechin, has said that he is hoping for high standards in training and matches

01:13as he joins the club this summer.

01:15I think standards are massive, day-to-day, pushing each other.

01:22I think everyone needs to be going in the right direction.

01:26If there's one or two not pulling their weight, it's about everyone else getting around them,

01:30like pulling them in the right direction.

01:33So, yeah, off the pitch is massive, and obviously day-to-day what you do in training is huge.

01:38You can't just turn up on a game there and expect it to happen.

01:42I think, yeah, that day-to-day routine is massive.

01:44And what are your ambitions for this season?

01:47Obviously, everyone knows that we want to get promoted, so that's the main one.

01:52But it starts now, really.

01:54The lads have been back a week.

01:55This is my first day today, so I'm excited to get going now.

01:58But it's like what I said before, it's what you do day-to-day.

02:05How ready are you to meet your new teammates and make some new friendships?
