As the great Oasis reunion is upon us, take a walk down memory lane when beer cost under £2, a shirt would only cost you £14 and a ticket to see the band? A mere £22.50.

Here's a look at how inflation has affected those who saw the band in 1996 compared to those seeing them on their 2025 reunion tour.

00:00It's almost here, the great reunion of not just 2025, but one of those in music history.
00:07I'm talking of course about the great three days breaks, wait, no, sorry, I meant Oasis,
00:15who kick off their tour at Cardiff's Principality Stadium in early July.
00:19And with the saga of ticket prices, dynamic pricing and the continued cost of living,
00:24let's pop our rose-tinted glasses on, hop into our time machine, I couldn't afford the DeLorean on this occasion,
00:31and take a look at how much the cost of going to an Oasis gig has changed since their hallowed 1996 Nebworth shows.
00:40For a start, there is the ticket price.
00:42Now they ranged this year from 73 quid to upwards of over 300 on some websites,
00:49but back in 1996, believe it or not, tickets to see Oasis at Nebworth were a mere £22.50.
00:59Cheaper than a bundle meal on Just Eat, right?
01:01Those wanting to pick up some merchandise could have grabbed the now iconic Sky Blue Oasis logo shirt
01:08for a mere £14, but in 2025 that price has increased to £30, according to research by Spring.
01:15And now, it's thirsty work going to see a band play live, and you might want to feel supersonic,
01:22drinking gin and tonic. Had to be done.
01:26In 1996, such a beverage would have cost you £2, but in 2025 that price has increased to just over £7.
01:34Meanwhile, memories of getting a pint for only £1.75 are nearly that,
01:39with the price expected to cost you around £4.83.
01:43After a glass of shard or a red wine, well, it used to be £1.30,
01:47but estimates say that it's going to cost you around £5.17 in 2025.
01:55But it's not just the fans that have seen an increase in costs of things,
01:59the band too have to contend with inflation. And before you go,
02:03please, oh please, someone think of the millionaires, let's put it this way.
02:07A Vespers scooter, which formed part of a well-known series of photos of Liam Gallagher,
02:12shot by photographers such as Michael Spencer Jones, will now cost him £5,665
02:20compared to the 1996 price of a mere £2.9,000. And even Noel Gallagher has to contend with
02:30inflation when it comes to his gear. His iconic Epiphone Casino, which once cost £387 has now
02:38risen to £549, while a detached house in Camden Borough, similar to Supernova Heights where Noel
02:45once lived, will now cost buyers £3.3 million, compared to the £513,000 back in 1996.
02:59Now, fortunately, owing to just how monumental an occasion this is set to be, we know that many of
03:05you, including myself, will dig deep into our pockets ahead of the shows. I mean, it's one of
03:10those moments in pop culture history, right? But I do have to ask this question, if you're getting
03:16peckish, will you be paying £1.10 for a packet of crisps when at Nebworth the snack only costs 30p?
03:22The jury is out, for now at least.
