Greater Noida – A shocking video has gone viral showing BJP leader Ateeq Pathan allegedly thrashing a woman and her son with a slipper and stick in the middle of the road in Bilaspur town of Dankaur area. The incident took place on June 30 and has triggered massive outrage on social media.
The woman, Sakina from Assam, has been living in Bilaspur for 15 years and works as a daily wage labourer. The dispute reportedly began over the installation of electric wires. When Sakina's son, Safikurrahman, tried to intervene during an argument with a neighbour, BJP’s Kasna Mandal Minister Ateeq Pathan allegedly beat him. When Sakina stepped in to protect her son, she too was assaulted.
The entire incident was captured on video by a bystander. After the video went viral, police arrested Pathan under breach of peace charges but have not filed an FIR for assault. Public criticism has intensified, with political parties like the Aazad Samaj Party calling out the BJP for double standards on women’s safety.
BJP local leadership claims the matter has been "settled" between both parties. Meanwhile, the demand for stricter legal action and justice for Sakina continues to grow.
