00:00Stand on it.
00:01Stand on what you say.
00:02Stand on what you do.
00:04Bay Area is Draymond Green,
00:06and you're listening to Willard and Dibs on 95.7 The Game.
00:10Hey, hey.
00:12He's going to be on the team.
00:14Yeah.
00:14He's going to be on the team.
00:15And memo to fans out there, and I love you all,
00:18but stop trying to trade him.
00:21They're not shopping him.
00:23They're not looking to trade him.
00:25He's not on the move.
00:27Trade him!
00:27He's not Darren Ruff.
00:29Draymond is not on the move.
00:31He's going to be here, and you can lament and rue the contract
00:36like many of us do, but he's going to be here,
00:40and they are pot committed for two years with Steph, Jimmy, and Draymond.
00:44Got it.
00:46There are two Warriors who I think right now you can look at it and go,
00:51I don't know if they're on the team next year or not.
00:54Two.
00:54That's it.
00:55It's GP2 and Jonathan Kaminga.
00:57That's it.
00:58Everybody else is here.
01:00Yeah.
01:00And there'll probably be a couple of new names,
01:03and they will not be averaging 20 points a game next year or anything like that.
01:08The only other one that I would maybe throw in would be Moses Moody or Buddy Heald.
01:13Those are both tradable.
01:15Right.
01:17I mean, Butters, we don't want to see you go.
01:19You're talking about a pretty significant blockbuster trade.
01:24I feel.
01:24Perhaps.
01:25I know it's not Giannis, but if you're talking Jonathan Kaminga and Buddy Heald and Moses Moody
01:33are going to Miami in exchange for, you know, Wiggy, Wiggy, Wiggy, or whatever,
01:39you're talking about blockbuster light.
01:42You know what I mean?
01:43Right.
01:43Like, that's, I just, I don't see it.
01:46I think that on the surface you are correct,
01:48and I don't think that the Warriors are going to be big players and big deals,
01:51but if I am another team, and I'm looking at the Warriors,
01:56and I'm looking at a possible sign and trade with an aggregation of a contract,
02:01I look at Buddy Heald and his deal, the dude makes peanuts.
02:04So, if I'm another team out there, that is somewhat attractive to me.
02:09Okay.
02:0995.7 The Game.
02:11Breaking news.
02:14We got a little something here that could, could provide some sort of light
02:20at the end of the tunnel on a Kaminga conversation.
02:25Oh.
02:25This is not Kaminga, but this is Kaminga adjacent.
02:28Okay.
02:28All right.
02:29Free agent shooter Duncan Robinson has agreed to a new three-year,
02:34$48 million deal with the Detroit Pistons.
02:38Now, the fact that Duncan opted out of his contract with the Miami Heat
02:42did give the Heat some more space,
02:44and they are absolutely one of two teams we've been told to keep an eye on
02:49with regard to Jonathan Kaminga.
02:52So, the fact that he both opted out and then left to go to a different team,
02:57does this leave Miami in a spot where they might be interested in a three-year,
03:05$60 million deal for Kaminga, which could lead to some sort of a sign and trade?
03:11By the way, this does not mean Wiggins is coming back unless, again,
03:15it's the deal that you were just talking about, which is more players getting added in.
03:19Right.
03:19Again, I'm just spitballing here.
03:22This opens up that possibility, not likelihood,
03:26but that is an interesting maneuver that Duncan Robinson's no longer on the Heat.
03:30By the way, really quick, just to add on,
03:32Shams has added that Detroit is trading Simone Fontecchio to Miami
03:36to acquire Duncan Robinson in what is going to officially be a sign and trade.
03:40Sign and trade.
03:41Between Detroit and Miami.
03:42All right.
03:43So, they're getting a player back for 50% on the dollar in that whole deal,
03:47and okay, so not as much money opened up, but some money opened up.
03:52Right, and Duncan was making 10, so I don't know what Fontecchio makes,
03:56but it's probably not that significant, and so it looks like Miami might still have some room,
04:01and again, if it's Wiggins who's making 28, then you would need to come close to 28 going out,
04:07which would be if Kaminga gets 25, that's 12 and a half, and then you throw in Moses Moody,
04:12and that gets you to 24, that would be enough,
04:15but I don't know if Miami would look for that as the package that they would want.
04:19Yeah, I don't know.
04:20I just know that we've all heard that Miami is one of the potentially interested teams,
04:25and they have not taken on any money, and they've had some go out the door.
04:28So, I would keep even more of an eye on the Miami Heat,
04:33and I'd also say, just as an NBA fan, three teams who I feel have won this summer so far,
04:40and again, this is all on paper, but the three teams...
04:42It's one day in, yeah.
04:43Yeah, but there was stuff happening before free agency.
04:46There were trades as well.
04:48Oh, yeah.
04:48The three teams that I think so far have won the offseason,
04:51Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons.
04:54Yeah, no doubt.
04:55Those are the ones.
04:56Yeah, and for me, it's Denver lesser than the other two, because...
05:00Yeah, I mean, you just went...
05:02Nice offseason.
05:02And you love Cam Johnson, so...
05:04You love Cam Johnson.
05:05And Hardaway.
05:06They got Hardaway today.
05:07Right, and so, you know, you get Porter Jr. out,
05:10and you bring in Hardaway Jr., and you bring in Cam Johnson,
05:13so, yeah, you get younger with Johnson, and Hardaway's a veteran,
05:16so I do like the fact that Denver gets a little bit deeper,
05:19and the biggest problem that Denver had this past year was a lack of depth.
05:24What's up, Granny?
05:25I agree with you, and Rockets and Nuggets,
05:26I think the Hawks have had an amazing offseason.
05:28Well, the Hawks have had a...
05:29The heel Alexander Walker and Kristaps Porzingis.
05:32They've had a splashy offseason.
05:34I'm not the hugest Kristaps Porzingis means you're about to win,
05:39and I also, the reason I bring up the Pistons more so than the Hawks,
05:43I'm a much bigger fan of their franchise player being someone you build around.
05:48I'd build around Cade Cunningham before Trey Young any day of the week.
05:51So, part of it is not fair, because I'm not just talking about the offseason,
05:55I'm sort of talking about the puzzle piece that was already in place around which you build.
06:00But I hear you.
06:01Hawks have, you know, Hawks are on the board.
06:05Hawks are doing things, and people love it when you do things.
06:08Well, yeah.
06:09And they don't like it when you don't do things.
06:10And here we are an hour, I'm sorry, a day and eight minutes into it,
06:14and all the Warriors have done is watch Kavon Looney go to New Orleans.
06:18So, right now, a day and eight minutes into it, the Warriors are worse off than they were a day ago.
06:24The Warriors are worse off than they were a day ago?
06:27I don't know if I...
06:28I call it even.
06:30Like, so you're saying Kavon was nothing?
06:32No, I'm not saying he was...
06:33Kavon's nothing.
06:33No, Kavon was, my gosh, he's an icon in this town.
06:38But if you're asking me if in the current Warriors situation it made sense to give him $8 million a year,
06:45no, it did not.
06:46Well, I'm not talking about salary versus other salary.
06:49I'm just talking about the team a day ago versus the team today.
06:52There will be.
06:53Like, to me, that's a...
06:54Right, but where are we sitting right now?
06:55They're not going to replace him with no one.
06:57I don't think that this team has room in this form because of Draymond Green.
07:03I don't think they've got a whole lot of room for centers who don't shoot.
07:07I think that's the way they've got to play this.
07:09It's like Draymond has to play the four, but you sort of have to pretend he's still your five.
07:14In other words, like, if your four don't shoot, then your five's got to shoot.
07:19And so that's why there's Quentin Post.
07:21That's why there's always been interest in Vucevic.
07:24That's why there's reported interest in Al Horford.
07:27They want a seven-footer to be able to shoot so that they can keep using Draymond Green as their four.
07:32So that's my read.
07:34And I don't know what other shooting five is out there other than Al Horford.
07:37And, you know, reports are that L.A. is going to be interested in Horford as well.
07:41So if you're Al and you have your pick of the two different spots, if you choose L.A.,
07:47then what do the Warriors do for that other shooting big?
07:51Because Quentin Post is an intriguing, nice, young, you know, seven-foot-one guy who can shoot,
07:57but he's not a very good defender.
07:59Not yet.
08:00Definitely not yet.
08:01Rich in Fremont.
08:02Hi, Rich.
08:03Thanks for the call.
08:05Hey, guys.
08:06Thanks.
08:06Listen, I'm just calling in.
08:08And what's up, Dibs?
08:10You know, I'm just calling in because I want to defend Camino.
08:14I've been listening to people call in saying we should trade him, and, you know, he hasn't worked out.
08:20You know, it's like nobody's really looking at the full scale of what's going on with this guy.
08:25You know, if I'm the front office, you know, trading him is something I probably would have did in the first two seasons
08:30if I didn't like him.
08:31No.
08:32We let him stay here for four seasons.
08:33So now it's like, okay, the trade deadline's come, all these teams are making all these moves,
08:39and we got a piece right now who's acclimated to the system, and when he's on the floor, physically, he balls out.
08:47The only time he didn't ball out was when he got hurt.
08:50And it's like when he was able to play, what did we do?
08:54We sparingly played him.
08:56So it's like we didn't really get the most out of the guy, and he couldn't be a star because we didn't give him enough time to do it.
09:01So what are we going to do now?
09:02Are we going to punish Kaminga because we made the decision not to put him out there as much as he wanted to?
09:07I don't think that's fair.
09:08I think Jonathan Kaminga's a great –
09:10It's not a punishment, Rich.
09:12Why would it be – and trading him earlier, the only reason the Warriors, like, understand that until now,
09:19Jonathan Kaminga's been making about $7 million a year.
09:22If you had traded him two years ago, you wouldn't have gotten Bob Kiss back.
09:26Like, that's – it's the contract that, to me, wasn't – it didn't make any sense to trade him before.
09:32And you also mentioned he's acclimated to the system.
09:35I think the Warriors might disagree with you there.
09:37I think that's kind of the problem is they don't feel he's acclimated to the system.
09:42So everyone loves to say when he gets a chance, he balls out.
09:45I keep reminding people – I know it's unfair, but I do like this thought process.
09:50Like, remind yourself.
09:52Oh, he came in against Minnesota, and he balled out, and their record was?
09:56No, he 0-4.
09:57Yeah.
09:58The Warriors are concerned about whether or not him balling out has anything to do with winning.
10:04Winning.
10:05Jordan Poole balls out.
10:06Does it win in the NBA?
10:10When Jimmy Butler came over, it started to win.
10:13To me, that's our rub.
10:16That's our rub.
10:17And I'm well aware that we're never going to get to the end of the –
10:19we're never going to get to the center of the Tootsie Roll pop on this one.
10:23How many licks does it take?
10:26Infinity.
10:26Thousands, yeah.
10:27Yeah.
10:27Yeah.
