00:00At crossover time, let's welcome in Mark Willard, Dan Dibley, and Free Agency is off to a rousing start.
00:12And the Warriors are, they've lost Kavon Looney so far, gentlemen.
00:16Thoughts?
00:17Did Looney sign while you guys were on the air yesterday?
00:19Yep, yep, absolutely.
00:21Leave, I should say.
00:21Agreed, and nothing can get signed until the 6th, but that one hit in seven different ways.
00:28At first, it was like, man, good for you, Kavon.
00:32You got more money than I think that they would get, and then every other level beyond that, we would talk about it,
00:37and it would hurt more and more and more and more, and I think I'm over it for now.
00:42But when he shows up in that Bull Schmidt purple, orange, and whatever green, when he's got that NOLA jersey on,
00:52and, you know, starting at center, Kavon Looney, it's going to hurt again.
00:57Because, you know, he is, he's a fan favorite, and, you know, Stiney, I was looking at the longest tenured players in the association currently,
01:08and he was in, like, the top eight.
01:11Well, it's got to be Curry and Draymond, they've got to be in the top eight, for sure.
01:15How about, is Udonis Houselm still under contract?
01:19In theory, he would be number one if he still is playing.
01:22Giannis is actually right behind Steph and Draymond.
01:24And then there's a group, and...
01:26Jokic, by now?
01:27Correct.
01:28Ten years of Jokic.
01:29That surprised me that he's been in the league for a decade.
01:31Mark was absolutely floored when I brought that out.
01:35Yep.
01:35Devin Booker.
01:36Oh, you're about to get paid.
01:38A guy who you famously called a jackass.
01:41Miles Turner.
01:42Miles Turner?
01:43Not anymore.
01:44He's a jackass.
01:46That's one of my favorite drops that I don't think made it from the old building to the new building.
01:50That and A.J. Ananobi.
01:53Yeah.
01:54What was the...
01:55I was about to ask, Mark.
01:56What was the background of that?
01:58Why was Miles Turner a jackass?
02:00I'll tell you why.
02:00Yeah, that's why I asked.
02:01I was on...
02:01We're going back five years.
02:02I was on...
02:03I was on one about all these people saying a guy's a good guy or a bad guy, when they
02:11don't know the guy.
02:12Got it.
02:12But they're just like, oh, Aiton, he's a bad guy.
02:16He's a...
02:16So I was just like, you know, you can just say anything you want on these days.
02:20Miles Turner, he's a jackass.
02:22And the way you delivered it was so perfect.
02:25That and the other one was A.J. Ananobi.
02:28And, of course, it's O.J. Ananobi.
02:30Correct.
02:30But every time I hear Miles Turner, I think about your drop.
02:34And Miles Turner is one of those guys, not anymore, who was 10 years with one team.
02:39And so Kavon was right alongside.
02:41What are the Pacers doing, like, to say night-night to that type of hybrid center that had you
02:47in the finals?
02:48Or is that a byproduct because your boy went down and he won't be playing next year?
02:52Like...
02:53And as John is saying, that is the move.
02:56I'll stay.
02:56I don't know about that.
02:57I don't know.
02:58But from the Pacer perspective, I feel like I absolutely think you can draw a line from Tyrese
03:04Halliburton's leg to Miles Turner's contract.
03:07And that sucks.
03:10So...
03:10That's a one-two punch.
03:11Like, if he doesn't get injured, he stays.
03:14No doubt.
03:15Yeah, I don't know about that.
03:17Yeah!
03:17Because we talked about teams who pay three guys 30 or more million, and Pascal Siakam's
03:23making 45.
03:24I understand.
03:25So, at the same time, and what was Turner's deal with Milwaukee?
03:29Four for 104.
03:31Okay, so, like, not even 30.
03:33Sure, 26, though.
03:35He's knocking on 30's door.
03:36If he doesn't get hurt, who knows?
03:38They may have just had a parade three weeks ago.
03:41I don't know.
03:42Right?
03:42And so, that does usually get you to move a little bit more.
03:46And I think that they would have kept it together, and they would have felt comfortable maybe bleeding
03:50into the tacks a little bit, and thinking that they were contenders.
03:54But with Halliburton not playing next year, they're not going to the tacks in Indianapolis.
03:58And they've never been in the tacks before.
04:01Never done it.
04:01And it's a terrible time to do it for the first time.
04:03Exactly.
04:04I think even if they lose Game 7, but Halliburton doesn't get hurt, I think they probably then
04:10go into the tacks.
04:12Because then they will have made, then two years in a row, Eastern Conference Finals,
04:15NBA Finals.
04:16It's like, you're legitimately knocking on the doors as hard as anybody else.
04:22I mean, with the Tatum injury, they could have come back as the favorite.
04:25They could have come back as the favorite in the East.
04:27Easy.
04:27Hey, I got a question for all of you.
04:29Yeah.
04:29What did you say?
04:31Free agency's off to a rip-roaring start.
04:33Browsing.
04:34Browsing.
04:34It was dripping with sarcasm.
04:36Oh, yeah.
04:36Shout out, Rhonda.
04:38That's a five.
04:40What did you all expect?
04:42Well, I've been trying to...
04:43What did you think was going to happen?
04:45I'm going to lay out here.
04:47Wow.
04:48Honestly, what did you think the Warriors were going to do?
04:52I told you what I thought.
04:54They'd be a day three and beyond player.
04:57And here we are in day two.
04:58So, I'm not at all baffled or flummoxed or confused because you're not a day one or a
05:05day two player.
05:06You don't have the money.
05:07You don't have the assets.
05:10You need to sit there and wait.
05:12Now, before you walked in, I'm being honest, our gift was Jimmy Butler and that came before
05:19free agency.
05:20So, when I look at it from that, when I take a step back, it's got a nuance of Willard
05:24Dibs.
05:25I feel better like, we just got our gift earlier.
05:28But as far as the frustration I'm feeling, I thought, and maybe I'm wrong.
05:33You tell me what you think.
05:34I thought this Kaminga enigma or puzzle would be solved one way or the other.
05:40And if Dibs is right and they're a day three player, they could bring somebody in and it's
05:45still not be solved.
05:46That's the one thing I don't, I'm just like, I want this, I want to hit the piñata and
05:51know what's going to come out, if anything, and then move forward with our team, with
05:55them or without.
05:56I would answer that as, that's a Kaminga and Kaminga's agent thing.
06:01That's not a Warriors thing.
06:03The Kaminga thing has not been figured out.
06:05My read is because Kaminga's agent is not finding anything on the open market that
06:10he likes.
06:11Don't tell Tim and Raleigh that.
06:13He just called.
06:14Nobody's offering any money.
06:16It doesn't look like it.
06:17Nobody's offering him any money.
06:18Nobody even has any money.
06:21Brooklyn has some.
06:22They just use most of it.
06:23Yes, they did.
06:24Like, nobody has any.
06:26Like, Jonathan wants 25 or 30.
06:29It's literally not available.
06:30So what would Willer do if your last name was Kaminga and dibs you two?
06:34What would you do?
06:35I guess.
06:35What would you, would you show up and play for seven, whatever it is, and be on the
06:39first thing smoking when this season's over?
06:42I would sign some sort of a deal, but he's right.
06:44That's why he's waiting.
06:46He's waiting for somebody to miss out on who their target A and target B are, and
06:51then maybe come to him.
06:53Double back.
06:53I still think a sign and trade is possible.
06:56It's possible.
06:57It's possible, but if not, I'd probably try to get the Warriors to go, I don't
07:04know.
07:04One and 15?
07:05Two and 30?
07:08If you're Kaminga, you want one.
07:09If you have to come back to this, you want one.
07:13That's a lot of money you're turning down.
07:15That's a lot of money.
07:16Right, but if you're 22, you feel like with the ha-ha and the skeet-skeet and all the
07:22rest of it, you feel like you can go somewhere else.
07:24And next year, you know this, Mark, next year, with the cap going up, more teams are
07:29going to have more money.
07:30I also know that people's Achilles tendons are firing out of their body at an alarming
07:34rate.
07:35Not a lot of 22-year-olds.
07:36He got hurt in his 30 games.
07:3731 games.
07:38I challenge any human being to be like, no.
07:40Let's look at the Achilles tendon injuries, though.
07:43How many of them were 22-year-olds?
07:44No, but that's not the point.
07:45That is the point.
07:46No, it's not, because they use that as an example of a larger issue that we all know to be
07:50omnipresent, which is the risk of injury, and if somebody's offering you $15 million
07:54or $20 million, that is very hard, guaranteed, to walk away from and just trust that everything
08:02will be better next year, because maybe it won't be, and maybe you won't get any minutes
08:07between now and then.
08:08Then what's your value?
08:10Well, your value still, I think, is relatively high to the point where you've shown enough
08:15to where, you know, if this team is not playing you, it doesn't mean that you're not a good
08:19player.
08:20We're watching it right now.
08:22What has he proven?
08:23This was said on national...
08:24Right, and you're doing this in a year where nobody has any money, so that's an unfair
08:27way to look at Jonathan Kaminga.
08:29Nobody has the money he's looking for.
08:31I wouldn't say nobody has any money.
08:32We've watched a lot of people get money the last 24 hours.
08:35People have money, they just don't have 30.
08:38But if he were what everybody seemingly in this fan base knows he is, then there would be at
08:44least one GM that wants to give him 3-65, but it hasn't happened.
08:51Not yet.
08:51It hasn't happened yet.
08:52So, like, that would worry me.
08:55That would worry me if I were Jonathan, more than the financial side of it is, okay, if I
09:01stay, what does it look like?
09:03I think if they sign and trade Kaminga, I think Kaminga will be on his new team saying,
09:10they never made me an offer.
09:12I'm not sure the Warriors have an offer out there to Jonathan Kaminga.
09:17No, they've got the qualifying offer.
09:18Well, that's what I'm saying.
09:20Right.
09:20And they don't have to do anything else.
09:23Exactly.
09:24You're probably right.
09:25You're probably right.
09:26They just sit there and they wait to see if anybody else offers, and then they can match
09:30or not match.
09:30And they probably won't, because they don't have money.
09:32Or they'll try to build something off a mid-level, let's say.
09:36Maybe get three, like three for 48 or something is what you could build off the mid-level.
09:42And then, you're the Warriors.
09:44You just match it, if you like the number.
09:47And we'll get back to you at the trade deadline.
09:50Exactly.
09:50But to Willard's point, when is that coming?
09:52I wouldn't think so.
09:53When is somebody else coming to ask him to dance?
09:55Like, I am a bit shocked.
09:57And then we had a call that offended him.
09:59I wasn't trying to steal a stunder.
10:00Like, you don't know things are going.
10:02Like, in the era of information, stuff being leaked, we would know if somebody would like,
10:06I heard Sacramento was interested, but that's kind of gone away.
10:10But I'm like, man, I am a bit shocked.
10:11Like, nobody's knocking on that door.
10:13I mean, again, he wants 30.
10:18So, yeah, or even 25.
10:20Like, I just, I mean, he's not out there.
10:23Look at Miles Turner.
10:24Miles Turner?
10:25Just made 25 million.
10:27Miles Turner.
10:28Jonathan, thank you.
10:30Take your 25.
10:31Take your 20 and build, like, you know, have a great three years.
10:36Right.
10:36And if it's great, you'll make 35 or 40 at 25.
10:39And yesterday, Santee Aldama took Kamingas better than Santee Aldama.
10:43Aldama, I'm not going to pretend that they're the same player, but he took 17.6 to stay.
10:50He got, you know, 52 and a half to stay over three years.
10:54And so, if you're Kamingas and you want 30, are you almost twice the player of Aldama?
10:59No, of course not.
11:00And the market's telling you that.
11:02Yeah, I, it's, I don't, I don't, hey, does this do anything for anyone?
11:10I don't know.
11:10What about this?
11:11Um, I know everybody's worried about if you do this sign and trade, you can only take
11:16back half the money, right?
11:18So, let's say somebody's like, all right, we'll do 20 for Jonathan Kaminga.
11:21You get a $10 million player back and everybody's like, ugh, $10 million player for Jonathan
11:26Kaminga.
11:27I think that the money that they would save on that deal would kick them from the non-taxpayer
11:34mid-level exception.
11:37I'm sorry, from the taxpayer mid-level exception to the non-taxpaying mid-level exception.
11:41In other words, they would be able, instead of going out to get a $5.7 million player, then
11:46go get a $14.1 million player.
11:48So, in a way, you are getting that $10 million back and able to go shop.
11:55And who is that player?
11:56I don't know.
11:56Oh, okay.
11:57I thought you had somebody in mind.
11:58But does that make you feel better about the idea of if they dump Jonathan for what feels
12:02like a worse player?
12:04Right now, it doesn't.
12:05Because I feel like, unlike you, Willard, I feel like Duke can play.
12:10And...
12:10Don't say unlike me.
12:11He can play.
12:11I don't feel like he can't play.
12:12And I just hate that, you know, I told Stani, I'm frustrated real quick here, just from
12:17the vantage point, okay, let's say they get past the X's and O's, or even he plays for
12:217.9, comes back, he's...
12:23How are you going to make it fit, Dibs?
12:25That's what bothers me.
12:26There's nothing better than talent, but more talent.
12:29And for whatever reason, that's not been able to manifest here.
12:32Yep.
12:32And Steve Kerr told us in his exit interview on Willard and Dibs right here on 95.7 The Game
12:38that, you know, if they had a full camp of Jimmy and Draymond and Steph and Jonathan, you
12:42know, it would be priority number one to figure out how to make that work, and those are great
12:48words, and I ultimately look at, you know, who those players are and what each player does
12:54and does well, and Mark said this a lot about Kaminga and what he wants to be.
12:59He wants to be a guy with the ball who can score the ball and make things happen, and
13:03as Mark has said, that job is taken here, and it's taken by Steph, and then the runner-up
13:08is Jimmy.
13:09And so, if you can't do that, and then if Draymond's out there with you, and you need
13:14with Draymond, you need somebody who can space the floor and shoot, well, that's not Jonathan
13:18either.
13:19Okay, Jonathan, we need you to hustle, rebound, defend, and take charges, and well, he doesn't
13:24do that either.
13:25So, where are we with his ability to fit with this team?
13:28So, you're listening to 95.7 The Game, KGMZ-FM at HD1 San Francisco and Odyssey Sports Station,
13:35always live on the free Odyssey app, and now broadcasting from the Laughing Monk Studios.
13:42Kaminga, oh, I don't know who the player is, but I think there's a player out there that
13:49would help the Warriors more than Kaminga has helped the Warriors.
13:52And it could be a role player, because they want a player who, they just, they want a
14:04guy who's a better all-around player.
14:06And I think they want a guy who's got more experience, but not too much.
14:10What do you think about Horford?
14:11Oh, he fits, but he's 39, which in another way means he really fits.
14:18You know what I mean?
14:19Yeah, I get it.
14:21It's so, and this is going to be the way that we define the Warriors offseason.
14:27It's not going to be sexy.
14:28And he is very not sexy.
14:30But I will say, if they sign Al Horford, they got better, I think.
14:36I agree.
14:37They got a little bit better.
14:39Lost Looney, brought in Horford.
14:41But this ain't Boston.
14:42You ain't got shooters everywhere around you to where, I mean, the pressure on him to shoot
14:47threes and make them now, because all we really have is Steph to do that and everybody else.
14:52Sometimey, it ain't Boston.
14:53I mean, he shoots those threes freely like I missed.
14:56We got six other guys that can make them up good.
14:59But you come here and the fans getting on him if it didn't go right.
15:02But, Dibs, I wouldn't be mad, but that don't excite.
15:05Don't me either.
15:05And if you look at his last two years, he has really dropped off in his ability to shoot.
15:11I mean, he's still playing 25, 26 minutes, but his percentages have gone down and then
15:18even further down.
15:19So now you're expecting him to come in here.
15:20And I know the gravity of Steph and all that, but you're looking for a 39-year-old to have
15:25a renaissance.
15:26Feels to me a little Chris Paul-ish.
15:28He's available.
15:30He is.
15:31Yeah.
15:31I think so.
15:32Perhaps.
15:32Shocker.
15:33I mean, pretty close to his career average from three last year.
15:37Well, if you look at his two years prior, he was actually really good.
15:40Yeah, he was really good.
15:40And then the year before that, he was worse than he was last year.
15:43Right.
15:43And, you know, last year, if you look at what he played, like 60 games and about 25 minutes
15:47per.
15:48And so, I don't know.
15:50Almost 28.
15:51Oh, okay.
15:51Yeah.
15:52I mean, bring him in.
15:53You're old and you want to get older.
15:55No, I get it.
15:56It's not.
15:56Again, like they don't.
15:58They don't.
15:59They don't have room to go make a lot of moves.
16:02So, yeah, if you want to compare who the – if they got Al Horford, if you'd like
16:07to compare that to Miles Turner, then that's not going to feel great.
16:11But not a bad writer.
16:14I compare him to Looney.
16:15Yeah.
16:15Okay.
16:15And that's an upgrade.
16:16All right.
16:17And a space – like a floor spacer.
16:21What?
16:21Ask these guys.
16:23We've got to get to the baseball, too.
16:25Because you've been going.
16:26Okay.
16:27The guys won one game while he was out.
16:28Last.
16:29Yeah.
16:30Dude, we've got to get to it.
16:31So, I can't even.
16:32How do you – that should be a home run because it was your fan.
16:36And I forget his history, but it's real.
16:38Like, that's a homer.
16:39What if he had a Giants jersey on and you wouldn't think it was a homer?
16:43Just where the game's being played at, the home team should be penalized.
16:47And they got rewarded.
16:48I just think that that ball – like, first of all, we've completely lost sight of what
16:52replay is.
16:53You can't come out of replay and be like – sort of feel like it probably wasn't going
16:57to go out.
16:57Well, no, replay doesn't work that way, especially when your call on the field was
17:00that the outfielder caught it when he never even touched it.
17:03Like, that was ridiculous.
17:04The ball's in the stands.
17:05Yeah.
17:05That is a home run.
17:07Unless you can unequivocally tell me that it wasn't a home run, then that is a home run.
17:12And if you've won one game over the last week and a half, and the umpires go into their
17:19little booth and come out with that answer, if I'm Bob Melvin, I'm coming out to the mound
17:23and taking my pants off.
17:24No doubt.
17:25That is absolutely unacceptable.
17:28And for him to get thrown out during the commercial break because a pitch was two inches
17:34outside, what are you waiting for, dude?
17:37You've got to lose your mind and make sure that this becomes –
17:40Lloyd McClendon, go take first base.
17:42Pull it out.
17:43First of all, wake your team up, but secondly, make sure it's a national story.
17:47No doubt.
17:48I felt like he left that off the hook, man.
17:50There was a national story today.
17:52He's been extant.
17:53They picked up his option.
17:54That's a local story.
17:55Oh, man.
17:55Yeah.
17:56Can I – I know this is five days old, but the bird song plunking of that guy.
18:05What was your take?
18:06Oh, boy.
18:07I got to tell you, I think it's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen in my life,
18:12and the reason is because they asked Birdsong to do it with two outs
18:19and nobody on in the first inning.
18:21He's your young pitcher.
18:22He's just trying to survive.
18:24He's struggling a little bit in recent weeks, and it's like,
18:28why ask him to just give up – like, why ask him to plunk the guy?
18:35Why don't Ryan Walker come in?
18:38Like, and this is what I said.
18:40If he gets shellacked today, Birdsong, I'm not going to draw A to B.
18:45I just think it was not him.
18:49Well, not Hayden Bird.
18:51Like, is he technically a rookie?
18:54I know he pitched last year.
18:55Oh, I think so.
18:56Let's say he's a rookie.
18:57So now you're asking a rookie.
18:58Get in the middle of this crap that we're not even sure about,
19:01but let's go ahead and hit the guy.
19:03Now you give up a three-run homer.
19:06Why Birdsong?
19:07Why the Marlins?
19:09Why did you tell them about it the night before?
19:12That was my big question.
19:13Yeah, that's the thing.
19:14How did you tell everybody the night before that you were going to do this?
19:17They woke – I mean, the Marlins played that game
19:20like it was game three of the World Series.
19:22Having looked back.
19:22I don't think they've lost a game since.
19:26The whole thing.
19:28The whole thing.
19:29But I thought Melvin Dibs real quick should have –
19:31when they just went ballistic on –
19:34that was the form to do it.
19:35You did it, but I ain't going to rob you.
19:37I mean, you got your contract extension.
19:38But Dibs, I just thought, I'm old school.
19:41Man, that was a time for you to just go.
19:43And you almost would have got a license to do it from everybody.
19:46Like, this is some BS.
19:47And I actually shared on our thread, or maybe I put it on Twitter,
19:50I think it was the thread, where it was happening in real time,
19:53and the umps huddle, and it's like, there's only two things you can say.
19:56Either a fan interference, it's a double, or it's a home run.
20:00And they come out, and they go, he's out.
20:02It's like, how are you out when the fielder doesn't catch the ball?
20:08It was a Savannah Bananas game.
20:09Totally.
20:10If the fans catch the ball, you're out.
20:12So now you're helping the home Savannah Bananas.
20:15He's out because, like, the fan interfered and made the play.
20:19And then when you look at the replay, it's like, oh, my God,
20:21that is either on or above the O-line.
20:24And I even shared this with the group because this has been one of my,
20:27what's bugging me for probably 10 or 15 years.
20:31Make the fence the fence again.
20:34You remember Candlestick where the left field fence was about 80 feet
20:39from the bleachers?
20:40I'll never forget.
20:41And there'd be a home run, and people would jump out of the bleachers
20:43and run and scurry and get it.
20:44Not safe.
20:45Not allowable now.
20:46I was there to doublehead against the Dodgers.
20:47I was there, too, that same night.
20:49100 fights.
20:49That was the last time it was open.
20:51It was bananas.
20:51Fly balled a shortstop, and people were jumping off and running
20:54and jumping on the fence.
20:56But a home run was a home run.
20:58And all these parks, including Oracle Park, where you get up there.
21:02It's not as bad.
21:03It's not.
21:04There's space there.
21:05There are spots where a home run is either it might be a home run.
21:09Make the fence a fence again.
21:11You're 1,000% right.
21:12It's offensive.
21:13Go ahead.
21:14It's a four.
21:15No, it's a four.
21:16But, like, a three from Grady, which means it's really a four.
21:19Take this to any other sport.
21:21Why on earth are we letting people reach out onto the field?
21:26Can you imagine this in a football game?
21:28Like, this is the – I've got Leo DiCaprio seats, and I can just trip LeBron,
21:34and all you're going to do is be like, oh, come back tomorrow and do it again.
21:37Like, this is the stupidest thing ever.
21:40You don't need 80 feet of space.
21:43You need, like, Dodger Stadium.
21:45Just a four-foot gap.
21:47Do not let people –
21:49Look at you.
21:49Admire Dodger Stadium.
21:50I hate that place.
21:52But, like –
21:52Beautiful.
21:53Do that.
21:54This is not difficult.
21:55You are not allowed to – if you're an actual outfielder,
21:59you've got to fight fans in order to catch a ball that's in play.
22:02They called him out after the dude hit the missile.
22:06The Giants are so frustrating right now,
22:10but somehow this game last night made me more frustrated with baseball
22:13than it did with the Giants.
22:14But real quick, and Stadia brought this up about the rotation.
22:17They've been so immaculate.
22:18It's a step back before the break.
22:19I can kind of see it.
22:21But I'm worried about their best hitters getting fastballs high.
22:25They're throwing them by him.
22:26Is that just fatigue?
22:28Nothing to see here.
22:29Even in Rafi's part of it.
22:31Just right now it seems like if you throw high and tight,
22:33you can get them to swing and miss.
22:35Crystal Gale.
22:37Blue by you.
22:38Gooh comes in.
22:39God love him.
22:40Yep.
22:41He says to me, it's a compliment.
22:44He comes in today and he goes, Stiney,
22:47I think you've got a victory lap coming.
22:49And I'm like, for what?
22:50He goes, remember what you wrote about Devers?
22:52The first at bat for Devers.
22:53His first at bat.
22:54Remember he struck out?
22:55He struck out.
22:56So I texted the group and said, his bat looks slow.
22:58And it was a joke.
23:00Nobody responded right.
23:02But are you seeing that?
23:04Here we are.
23:05I'm just like, and Wilmer Flores, God bless him.
23:07He's been rock-a-roo for the whole.
23:10Like, remember Devers when the controversy started in the offseason, right?
23:15Spring training for the Boston Red Sox.
23:17He came out for three weeks to start this year.
23:20And he could not hit a baseball.
23:21Yeah.
23:22Couldn't hit a baseball.
23:23And then he settled down.
23:25And then he became a star for a good solid month and a half.
23:30And so, look, with the players, if you're going to have a concern meter or whatever,
23:36I'm going to give Devers, to a degree, it's been much longer, Adamus.
23:41But Jung-Hoo Lee is a problem.
23:42That one's starting to scare me.
23:44He's swinging for the fence every time.
23:46Adamus and Devers have resumes in Major League Baseball.
23:50Like, long resumes in Major League Baseball.
23:53I'm going to play the long game with both of them.
23:56Jung-Hoo Lee.
23:57I'm getting worried about just, now you've got him playing the field.
23:59Well, you've got no choice.
24:01And here's my take.
24:02You've got no choice.
24:02Not for long.
24:03When you see Chris Koss get hurt and you realize that's a devastating loss,
24:09that to me is the biggest problem right now.
24:11Who's playing third base tonight?
24:12I mean, who knows, right?
24:14It should be Devers.
24:15Like, get a glove, my man.
24:17Why would you run him there if you're going to run him at third?
24:19He's played third for eight years.
24:21Like, play third, bro.
24:23And his press conference, well, you know what?
24:25I'm here to do anything they ask me to do.
24:27No, I think he would do it.
24:30I don't think they want to do it.
24:31Don't get it twisted.
24:32He's played third base for a long time.
24:34He's never played it well.
24:36Ever.
24:37He's let the league in the air every single year of his career.
24:43All of them.
24:45Not once did he have a year off.
24:46So, who's playing third?
24:48I don't know.
24:48Exactly.
24:49I have no idea.
24:51Willie Adamas.
24:52I thought.
24:53Probably Tyler Fitzgerald.
24:54Marco Luciano.
24:55Did he wisely play there?
24:56Oh, I saw your tweet on that.
24:58No, that didn't even.
24:59Like, what are we doing?
25:00He can't even hit.
25:01What are we doing?
25:02Well, who can hit?
25:03None of these guys can hit.
25:04Are we surprised by the Schmidt?
25:06Was that a misdiagnosis or miss hope?
25:08Like, I'm thinking, okay, he'll be back.
25:10I know.
25:10And then he's like, well, he's going to be in a 50.
25:12He thought he was going to miss one game.
25:14Yeah.
25:15And now it's been, what, four?
25:16Four games?
25:17He was on the I.L.
25:17Yeah.
25:18Exactly.
25:19So, yeah, I, I, look, some of these guys, to me, get a little bit more patience than
25:24others, but the, the, for me, the overall thing is, and I, I didn't get bothered by Melvin
25:29getting his option, but this is not a, I don't.
25:32I heard you guys.
25:33It's not a ball mail or a Pat Bowler thing.
25:35But, damn, how do you judge those dudes, though?
25:38I hear you.
25:38Saturday, Sunday against Chicago, runner on second, your two best hitters strike.
25:43How about, bro?
25:44Was that last night?
25:46How about, you, you play baseball.
25:48Yeah.
25:48What on earth?
25:49Oh, you said it.
25:50What on earth is someone even attempting to do when they leave third base?
25:54Who would have got cut, man?
25:55With nobody out of them.
25:56Where are you going, bro?
25:57Where are you, what do you think you're, what's going to happen?
26:00And you're hemorrhaging your offense.
26:01You're going to get a head start in case there's a wild pitch?
26:04Yeah.
26:04As if you need one?
26:05Yeah, that was whore.
26:06Well, and for me, the Buster, Melvin gets an extension.
26:10That, to me, is Buster saying, hey, all you guys in the clubhouse, this is not Bob, it's
26:15you.
26:15Oh, that's why, man.
26:16That's my takeaway.
26:17It's like, Bob gets an extension because they all know it's not Bob.
26:22And like you said, who's playing third?
26:23What's Bob supposed to do tonight at third base?
26:27Whatever he does is not good enough because these guys are all playing terribly.
26:32So, it's not Bob.
26:33Bob gets an extension.
26:34It's frustrating right now, isn't it?
26:36Frustrating.
26:37Who, the Giants or the Warriors?
26:38Everything.
26:38It's funny you say that because I asked that of our show thread.
26:41Like, what's more frustrating to you right now, the Warriors, like, not being a player
26:46in free agency or the Giants?
26:48No, it's the Giants.
26:48That's what Mark said.
26:49The Warriors aren't losing any games there.
26:51But it sounds like we might have a show idea for tomorrow.
26:53I said it's actually starting to build for me because...
26:56Is it?
26:57The Warriors thing doesn't surprise me at all.
26:58I'm with you.
26:59No, but it's still frustrating.
27:01Is it?
27:01It is because, you know, here we go and everyone else is getting better and you are, all you are
27:07is getting older.
27:07You already got better.
27:09How?
27:10By getting Jimmy Butler and winning a little fall of you.
27:13Then they won most of their games.
27:15Close your eyes and imagine in a parallel universe, the Warriors actually went out and got the
27:21first big free agent.
27:24It just happened to be Butler.
27:25Yeah.
27:26Get it?
27:27Think of it as they got the first free agent.
27:29I like that.
27:29I like that.
27:30Stiney's meditation.
27:32We should do that.
27:32That was so disingenuous.
27:34They got a verdict in the ditty farm.
27:36All righty.
27:37What happened?
27:38I don't know.
27:38No, no, no.
27:39No, no, no.
27:40I'm going to...
27:41I have no interest and I'm walking.
27:42You're lying.
27:43The defense only, the defense, 15 minute defense.
27:50I'm fascinated.
27:52That was terrible.
27:54They called no witnesses and they did it.
27:56Not here, but...
27:58195.
27:5970K!
