00:00Now listen guys, I laid in bed last night in the hotel and I remembered a wise man once told me
00:05it's not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.
00:12And the reason I cite that is because that's how I feel about this series.
00:17We have not played. We are too uptight. And maybe that's my fault.
00:22We've been here before. Not all of us, but most of us in 16 against OKC.
00:30Just look at each other and trust each other. I'm tired of watching guys not be themselves.
00:37It's just a game. The chef is hurt. Do it for him.
00:41Now back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:46Of course, only three players are left over from that 2016 team.
00:51Some of them were like, I was in nursery school.
00:55Totally.
00:56Anyway, go ahead.
00:57The crossover. That's what this is. And it's brought to you by Abundant Life Weight Loss.
01:01They know the secret to losing up to one pound of fat every day.
01:04Go to AbundantLifeWeightLoss.com.
01:06Welcome Willard and Dips.
01:08The fellas.
01:09Hi, boys.
01:10I'm impressed at how much voice you have left.
01:13I am too.
01:14Yeah.
01:14Yeah.
01:14Usually it's just gone.
01:15Yeah.
01:16Yeah.
01:16So you were smart to do it at the end of the show and you still got a little left in the tank.
01:22Well, I'm starting to worry because tomorrow is Thursday.
01:27Right.
01:27Thursday.
01:28Which is a traditional day off for the goo.
01:31Family stuff happens, but it happens to fall.
01:34Yes.
01:34I'm just trying to let the listeners know what he was implying.
01:37I'm like, not deal.
01:38No, Stiney made the implication.
01:40And so me, as a good co-host, I want to let the people know who maybe don't know what Stiney was referring to.
01:46You got you.
01:47And that's a fire.
01:48I mean it.
01:48Valkyrie shirt.
01:49No, thank you.
01:50I got two.
01:50They start Friday, Willard.
01:52Yes, they do.
01:53Right here on 9570 Game.
01:54You got two?
01:55I went to the team store.
01:57Ah, gotcha.
01:57Gotcha.
01:58Yeah, this was a handout here outside in the green room.
02:01So, yeah.
02:02I'll take it.
02:03Yeah.
02:03That hurts.
02:03Oh, yeah.
02:04I'm jealous.
02:05Hang on.
02:05Where at Rocky?
02:07No, I'm kidding.
02:07Hey, how you feeling tonight?
02:09About tonight.
02:10Not great.
02:12Sorry.
02:13Not great.
02:14But, you know.
02:15When you don't have anything.
02:16No, I'm not.
02:17It's not nothing.
02:19Vince Willard can't come up with something.
02:20I mean, do you want me to come in and be like, we got this?
02:23Like, not great.
02:24Okay, I got a question for you, too.
02:25They're in a bad spot.
02:26That's okay to admit.
02:27Is it not?
02:27Would you say the last two games, even leading in half, I know the third quarter, and I felt
02:33like the Warriors were close in both of those games.
02:35Would you sign off on that, Stiney?
02:37He's like, well...
02:38No, I would sign off it in game three.
02:41Not...
02:41No.
02:42Leading in half, did?
02:43Yeah, I mean, that's...
02:44Yeah, leading in half, great.
02:45And then, you know, tied with, I guess that would be 20 minutes to go.
02:49Yeah.
02:49You're in there.
02:50But that's where, you know, you got to dig deep.
02:53And that's where Anthony Edwards kind of took the game over.
02:56And while he took it over, you could not score.
02:59And actually, Steve Kerr mentioned yesterday that he played a five in that stretch that
03:04he'd never played before.
03:05Great.
03:05With eight minutes to go.
03:07He went to Kaminga, TJD, Buddy, Jimmy, and Draymond.
03:12That's the first time that five, according to Steve, had ever played together.
03:17And he did it because that thing was slipping away.
03:19And then that five didn't work.
03:21And next thing you know, you're down 12.
03:23And then he makes a couple more subs.
03:25And Gary comes in.
03:26And Buddy goes out.
03:27And, you know, TJD, I think, went out.
03:29And Looney came in.
03:30And 12 turned into 20.
03:31And it was over.
03:32It was over.
03:33They didn't score.
03:35Like, Minnesota went on a 17-0 run, which, yeah, 17, Minnesota, good.
03:40That's nice.
03:41But if that 17-0 was 17-8 or 17-9 or 17-10, I do think that we have a different conversation
03:48in the fourth quarter.
03:49But it was 17-0.
03:51You're down 20, and it's over.
03:53Man.
03:53Yeah.
03:55That third quarter, obviously, was probably the best quarter that Timberwolves played
03:59in the series.
03:59I mean, obviously.
04:00I heard your interview yesterday with Kerr.
04:06I thought it was interesting.
04:08I don't know if defensive is the right word, but I did sense a little something-something
04:15when he talked about Pajemski, and then you circled back with him.
04:20And it almost felt like he was saying, well, can't you see all the things that he does?
04:27And the issue is that some people can't.
04:30A lot of people can't.
04:31A lot of people can't.
04:33A lot of people don't.
04:34It's why I asked him to elaborate on that, because I wanted to at least let him speak
04:40to what I think is the number one criticism of him right now.
04:44That's it.
04:45Like, just speak to it.
04:46And then everybody can do what they want with it.
04:48And you can go to bed and think Steve's wrong, or you can think Steve has a point.
04:52But as long as he's aware.
04:54I mean, just speak to it.
04:55Like, explain.
04:58I'm not going to ask it this way.
04:59Why do you put him in the game?
05:00Like, I'm not going to be, you know, like I'm texting a radio show.
05:06But speak to it.
05:07What is it that you see, even when he's not scoring the ball?
05:11And he went into a lengthy answer.
05:13Well, he did.
05:13And he went into a very short answer when Dibbs asked him if Kaminga needs to have the ball in his hands.
05:20And his answer was basically, yeah.
05:23Yep.
05:24And that was the end of that.
05:25Yeah, he's better with the ball in his hands.
05:27Right.
05:27And I'm with you.
05:29I don't think defensive.
05:30I do think tired.
05:31Yeah.
05:32And I mean that in a couple of ways.
05:33Like, they're all very tired.
05:36And they've got a lot of bullet holes in their vests.
05:41Wow.
05:41You know, like, I bet he's pretty tired of the way his words about Jonathan Kaminga get sent out to the public.
05:49And they don't want to do that anymore.
05:52That's kind of the way I read it.
05:54Yeah.
05:54I just don't know what Maury can do on a night like tonight other than, yeah, he'll play.
06:03I mean, Kaminga's going to play.
06:04Clearly he's going to play.
06:06But, you know, I just think when we're talking about Post and Santos and Spencer, what are we really talking about?
06:17We're talking about desperation.
06:19Right.
06:20And I also think that if you look at, you know, Pods, for example, if he is your right now fourth best player, you're in trouble.
06:28You're talking about a second year guy who is still working on his game as he should be.
06:33He's a guy who went from Illinois to Santa Clara.
06:36No disrespect to Santa Clara, but, you know, he played one year in Santa Clara.
06:40Nice college player.
06:42He got drafted, but he's in his second year.
06:44And this is his first playoff ever.
06:46And now you're asking him to be a guy who plays 33 minutes.
06:50And you're going to look for him to shoot it 14 times.
06:53But to be fair, Debs, we're not asking him to elevate his game times 10.
06:58I just think it's fair to criticize him for going far left of what he's shown throughout the season.
07:08The season is not the postseason.
07:11I get that.
07:12And if you want to go back to Kobe Bryant, and this will be the only time I ever compare Pods to Kobe Bryant.
07:17Look at Kobe Bryant in his first playoff.
07:19And he was awful.
07:22And Kobe's one of the 7, 5, 11, whatever best players in the history of the association.
07:28And his first playoff involved him basically having issues.
07:33And I'll put it gently and say that.
07:36Pods is not Kobe.
07:38Pods is not Kobe.
07:39So Pods in year two, we're expecting him to be regular season Pods.
07:43That's not fair.
07:44And the bigger issue for me is, and that's why I look at tonight, and Lucas's question is good.
07:49Is it more likely they lose by 20 or that they actually win the game?
07:53I think it's more likely they lose by 20 because you're asking these guys, TJD and Pods and Buddy,
08:00who's not ever really been in a playoff series before this year, and now you're going to go deeper.
08:05And, you know, Kaminga has never had this role.
08:07But you haven't mentioned Jimmy and Dre.
08:10Okay, great.
08:11Jimmy and Dre, you play great.
08:12They've got Anthony Edwards, and they've got Gobert, and they've got Randall,
08:17and they've got, like, DiVincenzo, and they've got the best defensive player in the series.
08:21Apologies to Dre, Draymond Green.
08:24But Minnesota's better.
08:25So if you're going to beat Minnesota, you need your eight to be better than their eight.
08:30And so now if you want to look at the Warriors' eight, you're looking at TJD and Pods.
08:35You're looking at Kaminga and Buddy and GP2.
08:37And you need three of those five to be awesome.
08:40And they haven't been.
08:41I've been running crazy today.
08:45Did I hear through the grapevine that the two of you feel like Jimmy Butler has been a disappointment in the postseason?
08:53Is that accurate?
08:55No, I said he's not been playoff Jimmy.
08:59He's not been playoff Jimmy.
09:01And I looked at some of the numbers in the past, and they're off the charts.
09:06And the caveat is he's still Herb Willard.
09:08I believe he is.
09:09He might be.
09:09There's no doubt.
09:10I don't believe he's still Herb.
09:12Oh, you really don't?
09:12Game three, he took 26 shots.
09:14And what was nine shots?
09:16Well, I think he had the flu.
09:17And Steve said that to us yesterday.
09:18And you know what?
09:19No, he did.
09:20If you're under the weather, and if you look at this series, they've had somebody sick every game.
09:24So if Jimmy's over the flu, maybe he will get 30 shots tonight.
09:28Willard, what would you give him?
09:30I mean, he's definitely in some discomfort.
09:32So you can use whatever word you want.
09:34I think he is trying his best to play through it.
09:38And just like any injury or discomfort, there are good days.
09:42There are bad days.
09:43And I think he's probably had some bad days.
09:46And he's trying like hell to take on a role that is not the role he was brought here to do.
09:51He was not brought here to be a hero.
09:54He was brought here to be Robin.
09:56And now he needs to be Batman.
09:58And if we want to talk about playoff Jimmy, here's what I think is the really uncomfortable thing for a Warrior fan.
10:06Because what is the sentence that everyone has always said about Jimmy Butler?
10:10Oh, playoff Jimmy.
10:11He can do it.
10:12He brought a bunch of scrubs to the finals.
10:16That roster was better than this roster.
10:22And it had multiple shooters.
10:22That's the problem.
10:24And that's a really hard pill to swallow.
10:26Think about what he had around him in Miami that we've referred to for two years as scrubs.
10:34Tyler Hero, not a scrub.
10:36Bam Adebayo, not a scrub.
10:38Gabe Vincent, a knockdown shooter.
10:40Nikola Jovic, a nice player.
10:43Like these guys can score the basketball.
10:45Especially when the focus is not on them.
10:49And my problem with what's happened the last three games is I'm seeing all kinds of Warriors get criticized for not being able to do what we already know they can't do.
10:59That's my problem.
11:01Brandon Pajemski, go score 20.
11:03What?
11:04Without staff.
11:05Yeah, that has to be something that happens here and there.
11:08Almost by accident.
11:10That's not a game plan.
11:12That's never been a game plan.
11:14Nobody thought he could do that every night.
11:16And now he's being asked to do it every night.
11:18When he doesn't, we rip him.
11:21You're listening to 95.7 The Game.
11:23KGM, ZFM, and HD1 San Francisco.
11:25Always live on the free Odyssey app.
11:27And now broadcasting from the Laughing Monk Studios.
11:30Laughing Monk righteously brewed in San Francisco.
11:33You know, the other thing, and this happened during the Houston series.
11:38And I know what people are going to say, but if you look, and it's just be, this is what I mean about there's a price to a dynasty.
11:48And the price is that Houston wasn't very good, and they got to play their young players, and their young players developed, and they went to the playoffs this year.
12:00And they had young players who were instrumental.
12:03Like, their young players are little more than role players.
12:07And if you look at Minnesota, they were in the Western Conference Finals last year.
12:11It's like, Gobert's not a, I mean, he's not a role player.
12:15He's a hell of a player.
12:17Edwards is a hell of a player.
12:18Actually, forget Gobert, because I'm using younger guys.
12:21But like, Jaden McDaniels and even Nas Reed.
12:24Those guys had pretty big roles for their teams this year.
12:28The Warriors young players, they're bona fide role players that play off Curry and play off Butler.
12:34And now, because Steph's not there, you're asking role players to be more like stars in the postseason.
12:45Yep.
12:46And that's really hard.
12:47Their first postseason for some reason.
12:49Exactly.
12:50Exactly.
12:50Yep.
12:51Boy, if they wouldn't have missed on that pick when they had James Wiseman.
12:54They might have had somebody who could be five years into being a rotational guy.
13:00And somebody who could actually be another piece that would help them.
13:03Because you look at what they've done in the draft since.
13:06Oh, go ahead.
13:06Yeah, Wiseman.
13:07No, I was just, who would you have wanted to take?
13:09Anybody who could actually play basketball.
13:11No, but who was?
13:12Like, that was available.
13:13Tyrese Halliburton is always the easy one to say.
13:16But there's a reason why he went number, what, 12?
13:19That would have been a weird pick if they had done it at number two.
13:21So Sacramento takes him at 12, and then they trade him.
13:24So it's not like there was a consensus that he was going to be this.
13:28And he's now in the Eastern Finals.
13:29But he would have just been getting help.
13:31I mean, that guy's a ghost.
13:33You got nothing with him.
13:34Let's go with Onyeka Okonwu.
13:37Okay.
13:38Because he was drafted about, you know, like, how much better would the Warriors be if they had drafted Okonwu rather than Wiseman?
13:46I would think somewhat better because you're getting contributions as to a goosehead.
13:50Well, you would have – I love his skill set as something that would be nice on the Warriors.
13:56No doubt.
13:57Is this series not 3-1 if they've got Okonwu?
14:01I mean –
14:02I mean, it's he –
14:02You know what I'm saying?
14:03Right, right.
14:04Yes.
14:04Four years later, he'd be a good fit on this team.
14:06Yeah, exactly.
14:07Exactly.
14:08But I hear where you're coming from.
14:10So I'm all in for tonight.
14:12But I just got to get you guys' opinion because I asked Stiney.
14:15So if this is just all about there's nothing to see here, and I'm not saying you guys are saying that, the chef is out, what can the Warriors do moving forward, hopefully they get this, to better themselves if Steph is out again?
14:31Or are you guys under the impression there's nothing to see here, our young guys will be fine a year older, but if Steph were to get hurt, we got it.
14:40Because that's what's shocking me is I thought we had it with Jimmy and the youngsters.
14:46Are you talking about game six or are you talking about next year?
14:50Well, see, next year, and I'm trying not to go there.
14:53I know.
14:53I just want to know how much weight you guys are putting into what we're seeing in Warrior World.
14:59Well, I'm sort of of the mind that I'm okay with it.
15:02Like, that's kind of what I said yesterday.
15:04Like, this is where the Warriors are.
15:07This is the card you play.
15:08You understand the risks.
15:10I know he's 37, and next year he'll be 38 at a certain point in the season.
15:14And Jimmy, too.
15:15Jimmy will be 36.
15:17But, like, the bottom line is I don't really see a different way to play this where you've got a better shot.
15:22You're top-heavy.
15:23You're top-heavy.
15:24You're very top-heavy.
15:25You will be very top-heavy again next year.
15:28I don't really see a way to change that.
15:31And so, like, the idea of being prepared to move through the playoffs without Steph Curry, I just don't think it exists.
15:38Wow.
15:39I mean, I agree.
15:42Well, you're going to say you saw it coming.
15:44No.
15:44Because of his age.
15:45Well, I was concerned about that.
15:49And history would show you that no team with a core this old has ever won the title.
15:55The closest thing to it was when the Bulls won No. 6, and Rodman was 37.
16:00And I went through this a couple weeks ago.
16:02Jordan was 35.
16:03And I think Ron Harper was also close to there.
16:06But Pippen was only 32.
16:07And so, when you look at even that core, Rodman, the oldest, was not the most important player.
16:14Jordan was 35.
16:15And if you remember that finals and that entire run, it took everything they had to be able to get over a Utah team.
16:24And it took contributions from everyone.
16:26And also, one thing we said yesterday about, yeah, there we go, blaming the refs again.
16:32And you can aim that for Mark Willard.
16:34Love it.
16:35But when you look at Michael Jordan and all of his playoff runs, the dude never missed a game in the playoffs.
16:42And now here we are with Steph for the second time in his career with a prolonged absence.
16:47And this one's going to actually hurt.
16:49I mean, and maybe we need to talk about it like this.
16:53I mean, Curry's Jordan.
16:55Oh, no doubt.
16:56Curry's Jordan.
16:57Well, guess what happened to the Bulls when Jordan didn't play for two years?
17:01Yep.
17:01They won a series.
17:03And then I think they lost a series.
17:05They got cheated.
17:05They should have went to the Eastern Conference Finals.
17:09What do you mean?
17:10They got cheated.
17:10They had the Knicks beat.
17:12They called a foul on Pippen on a shot that wasn't a foul that would enable the Bulls to go to the Eastern Conference Finals.
17:19The stupid refs.
17:20Are you talking about the Knicks?
17:21The stupid refs.
17:22I'm talking about three times without Michael.
17:24The year without Michael, the Bulls had action to go to the Eastern Conference Finals.
17:28We're going 30 years back, and we're still going to complain about a call that didn't go the Bulls' way.
17:33I'm just saying that, yeah.
17:34Didn't Phil Jackson have a challenge?
17:35It's so great.
17:36Right.
17:36Well, there was no challenge.
17:38I know.
17:39Anyway.
17:40Hello.
17:41I'm checking the tape on that one.
17:43Check it out.
17:45The Bulls almost, I believe they won 50 without Mike the first year he was gone.
17:49Okay.
17:51All right.
17:52But I think if you take it.
17:54They weren't as scary.
17:55No doubt.
17:56That's what I mean.
17:57If you try to do the impossible for us, Warrior fans, Warrior flagship station, sorry, Stanny, and you too.
18:03But, like, if you take the emotion out of it, if you can, how would you view another team that loses their generational stock?
18:12No, it's over.
18:13I got you.
18:13Right.
18:14But I was drinking the Jimmy Kool-Aid.
18:16Can you give me that, Will, or can you meet me halfway to the way this thing was going?
18:19Well, sure.
18:20Like, okay, no Steph for a little while.
18:23Miami, and that's where I went wrong in my formula, is Miami Jimmy, it was going to be Miami Jimmy with these guys.
18:32Right, but even if he was, I don't know that that would have moved on to round three because, again, those guys were better than these guys.
18:40Well, maybe not round three, game six.
18:42I mean, we have used the narrative for two years that Jimmy packed his bag with scrubs and dragged them to the finals.
18:53Two guys got paid on his team.
18:54And my take is, this group's worse than that group.
19:00Jimmy's two years older, and if you don't want to use the word hurt, is in some general discomfort around the clock.
19:08This would be more impressive than what he did two years ago if he can grab this group and take them up against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who I respect greatly, and take them into round three.
19:21The other thing is that that was Miami's team with Jimmy Butler on it.
19:27So they, even though Jimmy didn't play 82 regular season games, he was a part of that team, he knew their personnel, and he knew how to play with them.
19:35Totally.
19:35He just got here three months ago.
19:38And did zero, almost zero of this.
19:40Exactly.
19:41Which is play without Steph.
19:42Exactly.
19:43This group has played together probably six times.
19:45Right.
19:45So he's being asked to do what he did in Miami, but he doesn't have the familiarity or probably the confidence that he did back then, because at least he'd had years to figure out who these guys were and what he exactly had to do to will them.
20:04I don't think he knows with this team, but I think he's finding out they can't score enough, and he's got to do it all.
20:11He's got to score 30 and get 10 assists.
20:13Would you two be, if I hooked you up to a lie detector test, you and Dibs, Willard, answer the question, going into this series, even without Steph, having the two best players be both on Minnesota, I would have said no.
20:28And I'm disappointed in Draymond, because I know it's a big ask, but he's got nothing because of what he's going up against.
20:35But to me, without Steph, the two best players, and the problem is I didn't see Randall going ahead of Jimmy.
20:41I thought it would be Edwards, Jimmy, Jimmy, Edwards, but now if I'm wrong, you tell me if you think I'm wrong, it is Randall and Ant-Man.
20:50It was in game four.
20:51It was in game four.
20:53I don't think Randall was phenomenal until game four.
20:56He was good, but so was Jimmy.
20:59I think that's a game four take.
21:01We liked what Jimmy was doing until game four.
21:04And the other reason we like, or, you know, what Randall's doing is big is because he's playing with Ant.
21:09Well, so, you know what?
21:12He's been killing, man.
21:12Using the glass like fast domino.
21:15If Anthony Edwards went out.
21:1731 in game four, he had 24, 10, and 12 in game three, and he had 24, and 11, and 7 in game two.
21:25I think he's been pretty spectacular.
21:26I don't think spectacular.
21:28I think he's been good.
21:28He's a very good player.
21:29Three straight wins.
21:30He had a triple-double.
21:31He had 31, and he had a double-double.
21:33Let me ask you this.
21:34That's what he does.
21:35That's what he averages.
21:36If Anthony Edwards weren't playing for Minnesota, do you think Randall would be playing at the level he is now?
21:43Nope.
21:45Depends on who he's playing with.
21:46Well, he's not playing with Anthony Edwards.
21:48If he's playing with Shea in Oklahoma City, then yeah.
21:51You know, I mean, on this team, he's doing what Jimmy's doing with Lesser.
21:55Probably Lesser.
21:56He probably wouldn't be doing as much.
21:58He'd be more of a volume guy.
22:00Hey, who's going to the game on Friday night?
22:04Oh, if it's here, I'll go.
22:06Absolutely.
22:07It is here.
22:08No, the Valkyries game he's talking about.
22:09Friday night.
22:10I'll be in North Carolina.
22:11Oh.
22:11Yeah.
22:12See?
22:12I got caught up in every other game.
22:15Yeah.
22:16No, there's no Warrior game Friday night.
22:18For sure.
22:19Lock it in.
22:20Kukush.
22:21Kukush.
22:21You want to go?
22:22Well, for the umpteenth time, I'll be in North Carolina.
22:25Who's going to be in North Carolina?
22:28Nice faith you guys had in this team.
22:30We talked about it this morning.
22:32I know.
22:32In what team?
22:33The Warriors.
22:34They won't play Friday, period.
22:36They can't play Friday.
22:39But what I'm saying.
22:40You understand it, right?
22:41We're good.
22:41We're good.
22:42You want to get away?
22:43Are you here Monday?
22:44It's busy.
22:45Oh.
22:46I am.
22:46Oh, boy.
22:47I'll be back on Sunday.
22:49I make the second half of game six.
22:51But don't try to get out of what mess you're in right.
22:54You got it wrong in a minute.
22:55I got nothing wrong.
22:57No, I'm like, I actually wish.
23:00I would, if I were in town, I would be at that game on Friday night.
23:04And I'll be in a bunch of them.
23:04I'm excited about the partnership that was announced earlier this morning.
23:10My daughter asks me every day, when can we go to a game?
23:13She literally asked me if we could go Friday night, knowing that I'm not even going to be in the country.
23:18And so I told her no.
23:19Oh, Will, where are you going?
23:20I'm going out of the country.
23:21You got to give us a name.
23:23It rhymes with Texaco.
23:25Anyway.
23:26I got it.
23:26So, good job.
23:28You nailed it.
23:28Rhymes with Wabo.
23:30I got it.
23:31Anyway.
23:32Anyway.
23:33Yeah.
23:33Like, I'm excited to go as soon as we get back.
23:38And I told him, Dems, tell me what you think.
23:39I told my great Stiney, there's no off-season in the Bay when it comes to hoops.
23:44Yep.
23:44Yep.
23:45Another thing to, you know, toss into the summer mix.
23:50Exactly.
23:50Any NFL schedule talk coming up on your show?
23:53As more stuff breaks.
23:54Okay.
23:55I'm waiting on what is the home opener.
23:58Because for a bunch of years in a row, that's been a prime time game.
24:01What?
24:02Thursday night against the Giants two years ago.
24:04Last year, New York Jets.
24:06Woo!
24:06Christian McCaffrey's out.
24:07Wait, what?
24:08Remember that night?
24:09And we have not, I have not seen that leak yet on what the home opener is.
24:14I know the opener is in Seattle, reportedly.
24:17Give us Rams-Niners here.
24:19No, I think I already saw the Rams-Niners games.
24:22I think are week five, week ten, maybe, something like that.
24:25Yeah.
24:26But I don't care who it is.
24:28I'd love for it to be a prime time game.
24:30The problem is, the Niners don't have anybody on their schedule that's, like, worthy of a
24:34We don't know that yet.
24:35Only division opponents.
24:37But based on the look.
24:38Based on the look.
24:40Like, they have a Sunday night game, apparently, at some point, against the Falcons.
24:45That's the sexiest thing they've got.
24:47At the Rams, October 2nd, Thursday night, week five.
24:51And then the Falcons would be week seven.
24:55That's prime time.
24:56And then the Panthers, you mentioned it.
24:58Right before Thanksgiving.
24:59That's also prime time.
25:01And it's now being confirmed, according to Niner's web zone, week 17, Bears, Sunday night football.
25:08Okay.
25:08So that's four prime times right there.
25:10Remember, though, the Sunday nighters in the second half of the season are flexible.
25:13Wow.
25:14They're flexible.
25:15If everybody's...
25:15Bears got a whole...
25:16Well, Niners, too.
25:17If everybody's five and nine, you're not on Sunday night football anymore.
25:21So we'll see.
25:22But, yeah, I want to know what that home opener is.
25:24So when we get it, yes, we will.
25:26And the whole thing comes out at five.
25:28And then Warriors Live starts at 5.30.
25:30According to this, the home opener looks like it's going to be week three against the Cardinals.
25:35Prime time?
25:36Or just Sunday?
25:37No, 125.
25:38Oh, wow.
25:38Weeks one and two on the road.
25:40And we're awaiting.
25:42There are six more road dates that need to get slotted in, including the one that would
25:47be before the New York game in week nine.
25:49I would bet that's going to either be Tampa or perhaps New Orleans or Cleveland, somewhere
25:55out in the east.
25:56That way, the Niners can get a two-game road trip.
25:59Who's the best quarterback on the 49ers schedule this year?
26:03Maybe C.J. Stroud.
26:05C.J. Stroud?
26:06Sure.
26:07Make your name feel him.
26:08Matt Stafford.
26:09Gino.
26:09No, he's in L.A.
26:10Gino's not on the table.
26:13Wow.
26:14But Gino Smith.
26:15No, he's on the Raiders.
26:16Sam Darnold.
26:17Guys, we got to let these guys get their show started.
26:19Okay, got you.
26:19The show already started.
26:20Great interview with Curro.
26:22Oh, thank you.
26:22Thank you, girl.
26:23Great, great speech.
26:24A little prickly?
26:26He's down 3-1.
26:28Yeah, he's tired.
26:29He's so amazing.
26:30I think so, too.
26:31Yeah, he's tired.
26:31All right, 1-2-3, Cancun on 95-7.
26:35Wow.
26:36Wow.
26:36That was for Curro.
26:37He needs a rest.
26:38What?
26:39You got to fix that, Stoney.
26:41He did break a little news yesterday, because I asked him, safe to say that your closing
26:45five is going to be your starting five in game five?
26:48Yeah, I heard that.
26:49He locked it in.
26:50Locked it in.
26:50He said, absolutely.
26:51So, Guy Santos is in.
26:54Lace him up, Knoxie.
26:54Fix that, Cancun, Stoney.
26:56Fix it.
26:57Goo.
26:59Do you believe, I would prefer the Warriors win tonight.
27:02We have to.
27:03That makes it 3-2.
27:05That means I'll get to see my buddy again.
27:08And if the Warriors.
27:09Now he's your buddy.
27:10Wow.
27:10He ain't even been on the show.
27:11He's 3-1.
27:12Now he's your buddy.
27:13He ain't been on the show.
27:14This is so great.
27:14You know what?
27:15You want to be honest?
27:16I was going to have him on today.
27:18What happened?
27:18I was like, nah, I'm not having him on today.
27:20I get it.
27:21They're up.
27:21You win tonight, and your lead story is, I get to see them.
27:26My friend again?
27:27My buddy.
27:28Look at how great he's looking at you.
27:30My name is Buddy.
27:30My second is then, good for the station.
27:33Huh.
27:34Good for the station.
27:35Damn us all, my buddy.
27:36I can't lose.
27:36Don't you get it?
27:38Oh, I get it.
27:39Music Soulchild, B-U-D-E-Y.
27:41I got it.
27:41Look at it.
27:42Yeah.
27:42What you got?
27:43Loud and clear.
27:44If the Timberwolves lose tonight.
27:46Okay.
27:47I'll get Finch on tomorrow.
27:48That'll be dope.
27:49How about that?
27:50Let's go.
27:50You won't.
27:51Goo won't be here.
27:53No, Friday.
27:54He didn't want to come on because they were up 3-1.
27:57If they lose a game, he'll come on.
27:58Oh, you asked him and he didn't want to come on?
28:00We both agreed that it wasn't.
28:02That was a mutual decision.
28:04That was a mutual decision.
28:06No chance.
28:07I swear to God.
28:08Why?
28:08Why would you not want him on?
28:10That wasn't live.
28:11Because people would think.
28:12I told him.
28:13I was thinking about having you on today, but I think a lot of Warrior fans would think
28:17like, I'm trying to stick it to them.
28:19Oh, wow.
28:19You are.
28:20That's what you do all day, every day.
28:22He said, yeah, not great timing.
28:24Okay.
28:24So, he agreed with you, but you actually led the way to not having him on.
28:28Pretty much.
28:29Uh-huh.
28:30Yeah.
28:30Okay.
28:30Wow.
28:31Yeah.
28:31Wow.
28:32Because you were worried about yourself.
28:33Of course.
28:34And you're, because all you do, to be honest, as a Warrior fan, all you do is stick it to
28:39us.
28:39There is an I in Stiney.
28:41Yeah.
28:42And there's also a T.
28:43And sometimes why?
28:44An S-T-I, because he tries to stick it to us.
28:47No, I, I gotta go.
28:50I mean, you don't, but you will.
28:52Goo.
28:53You, I'm tired of you all.
28:55Go get him.
28:56Yeah.
28:56Go get him.
28:57Stand up to him.
28:58Come on.
28:59Quit looking.
28:59Come on.
29:00What am I standing up for?
29:03That's a four wheel.
29:04You're standing up for the fact that you don't actually try to stick it to us.
29:07There it is.
29:08I'm not going to do that.
29:09You're not going to tell us?
29:10And here's the other thing.
29:11If the, you guys have no idea that if the Warriors win tonight, all of a sudden, everything
29:19changes.
29:20Because then Curry's back in the picture.
29:23How many people have given up on this series?
29:25Who doesn't realize that?
29:27Who doesn't realize that?
29:28Who doesn't realize that the callers who have given up on this team?
29:32We didn't have many that were doubtful.
29:34Some are still hanging in there.
29:35Of course people are down.
29:37They're down 3-1.
29:38Yeah.
29:38You thought Steve Kerr sounded down.
29:41He sounded angry at you guys.
29:42No, that's not.
29:43That's impossible.
29:44Only three teams have ever come back from 3-1 down to win two on the road in those final
29:50three games.
29:51Oh, wow.
29:51Only three teams have ever done it.
29:53Rockets.
29:5595 Rockets.
29:56That is correct with Mario Alley.
29:59I'm done here.
29:59The Cavaliers over the Warriors in the NBA Finals.
30:03And who's the other one?
30:04The other one, the 1968 Boston Celtics.
30:07Oh, good.
30:07Bill Russell over Wilt Chamberlain.
30:09And how many of them?
30:11What was Wilt doing?
30:12Everything.
30:13How many of them did it without their best player?
30:15Now that, that's the bar.
30:17Yeah.
30:17That's, yeah.
30:19Yeah.
30:19So that's all this is about if somehow we don't get it done.
30:22It is for me.
30:22The chef went down.
30:23It is for me.
30:25I'm not saying you're wrong.
30:27The chef went down.
30:28Nothing to see here.
30:29I think there's something with Jimmy.
30:31I thought we were getting a little more.
30:33Yeah.
30:34You thought he was 27?
30:36And you thought, and you really, and you thought the rest of these players could be a two or
30:39a three.
30:40It was game three.
30:42If they would have won game three, which was winnable, we'd get two, two, and everyone
30:46would be one, two, two.
30:47Everyone would be feeling differently about where we were.
30:50It would be, hey, can you steal one in game five?
30:53If not, you know.
30:54I might as well stay now, Grandy.
30:55Just stay.
30:55Five more minutes.
30:56I'm sorry.
30:56Let's do it.
30:57If only we had Onyeka Okongwu, man.
31:00Damn it.
31:01Who I like, by the way.
31:02I like him, too.
31:03We all do, yeah.
31:04I mean.
31:04I play him on Underdog sometimes.
31:05They'd probably get a board.
31:06Get a board.
31:0611 teams passed on Halliburton, so.
31:08I do him all price.
31:09Right.
31:09And then the team that drafted Halliburton then traded Halliburton, so it's not like,
31:13you know.
31:13What are they doing?
31:14Damn you, Bob Myers.
31:15Call your guy right now and tell him, where were you on Halliburton, Bob?
31:18I hope they don't.
31:19I don't care if they don't get this.
31:20They have problems with his father.
31:21Ah, okay.
31:22That's why they didn't hit Halliburton.
31:25Hashtag random.
31:25It's a father issue.
31:26Daddy issues.
31:27Yeah.
31:27What's up?
31:29The Kings could have got Cooper flagged.
31:31That's just how bad things are going down.
31:33I know.
31:33Al Qaeda Lightweight was rooting for.
31:35Dude, they are just Halliburton.
31:37You want to hashtag random?
31:40This series has turned the two of you fancy.
31:44You're fancy.
31:46You're over here texting with the coach.
31:48You're over here driving to the ESPN studios to hang out with Perk and Bob Myers.
31:54I was going to a basketball tournament.
31:56The two of you are fancy all of a sudden.
31:58We're big deals.
31:59Oh, yeah.
32:01No doubt.
32:02My God.
32:03Where are you going tonight?
32:05Yeah.
32:05What kind of rooftop club superstar bottle service thing you got happening for this one?
32:12If Minnesota does advance, and we've gone through the numbers, 96% of the teams up 3-1.
32:19They go on to win.
32:20Only 13 teams have ever recovered.
32:22Two of those were Denver in the bubble.
32:24So, it's very, very, very unlikely.
32:26So, if Minnesota does advance, Stiney, which game are you going to go to to go hang out with Finchie?
32:33Because you've done it before.
32:35Atlanta and Milwaukee when they played in the playoffs.
32:37Yeah, facts.
32:37The deal is where he did the show in the hotel room.
32:39No doubt.
32:40I got all the memories.
32:41Shut up, Guru.
32:42Are you hoping for Denver or OKC?
32:45Which is your preferred destination?
32:47I'm not going to.
32:47SFO can get you there.
32:49I'm not.
32:50Coming up at 5.30 today.
32:52Warriors Live with Willard and Dibbs today at 5.30.
32:55Maybe the final Warriors Live of the year.
32:57Hopefully not.
32:57Maybe.
32:58Yeah.
32:59And do you get Kerr on an exit interview?
33:01Next week.
33:02He actually entered.
33:03It was a good question.
33:04I didn't know.
33:05He ended the.
33:06He's like, I'll talk to you next week.
33:08I'm like, oh, good.
33:09Yeah.
33:10Pretty awesome.
33:11There he is.
33:11And it's, you know, you can agree or disagree with his decisions and his rotations and all
33:16the rest of it, but one thing that I will always clap back at is his level of candor and honesty
33:23as a professional coach.
33:26He doesn't.
33:27I don't think that he often, like, completely tells bold-faced lies.
33:31I don't know.
33:32Oh, no.
33:33I don't know.
33:33It's better.
33:34That's why it's so good.
33:35You know what that just made me think of when you said that was, I wanted to bring this
33:39up.
33:39Your scientist caller?
33:41Oh, yeah.
33:41Oh, my God.
33:42Oh, I missed it.
33:43What happened?
33:43He was.
33:44If Grandy had to butt, I'd let him hear.
33:47This dude.
33:47This.
33:48That guy.
33:49And I believe he was the scientist.
33:50Oh, he brought the heat.
33:52He has tenure at Cal.
33:53He was tremendous.
33:54No doubt.
33:55Oppenheimer.
33:55Yeah.
33:56And he was right.
33:57He was all kinds of right, too.
34:00I'm a scientist.
34:01And you guys aren't.
34:03Okay?
34:03So good.
34:04That's all I have.
34:05He was sending your best players out.
34:07You're overthinking it.
34:08Well, he's like Steve Kerr has a PhD in basketball.
34:14And then everybody just.
34:14What about the graders?
34:15Right.
34:16And he said, you guys are like, have a third grade understanding of basketball.
34:20And he said, he called himself a first grade.
34:22So he wasn't peacocking.
34:25I mean, he was.
34:25Is he not aware of the fact that we got a buck 43 in the room?
34:29Oh, yeah.
34:29Stoddy brought that up.
34:30I remind you.
34:31I hope so.
34:32Yeah.
34:32I reminded him.
34:33He reminded him.
34:34Still waiting on those test results, by the way.
34:35Oh, they're coming.
34:36And also.
34:37And Bob's going to give me.
34:38I guess we're going to.
34:39They don't trust him.
34:40So I'm going to just take one off to.
34:41Don't trust them or you?
34:43Me.
34:43Basically.
34:43And also, I know you're not big on weight room videos, but I do want to see you press
34:48it up 325 or whatever the number was.
34:50And I'll just leave this.
34:51Will wasn't there.
34:52I hit the ball 300 yards.
34:53You saw that.
34:54Threaded feet.
34:54Oh, no, no.
34:55Yeah.
34:55Okay.
34:569 yards.
34:56And just real quick.
34:57I showed up right after it happened and I got the full rendition.
34:59And this man says I throw a bowling ball, which is not light, harder than anybody's ever
35:04seen.
35:05So I'm going to do the video.
35:06It's nothing, dibs.
35:07Yet, when we bowled against each other, I did beat you with my 10-pound ball.
35:11I didn't say I was good.
35:13No, you do throw it very, very hard.
35:15He throws it very hard into the alley.
35:18And occasionally at the pins.
35:20I mean.
35:21Oh, no.
35:21I hit the pins.
35:22He drops it really hard.
35:24Yeah.
35:25There he goes.
35:25Oh, yeah.
35:25Really hard.
35:26He drops it like it's hot.
35:26What do you want, Mahegan?
35:27Yeah.
35:28You're going to need to put your headset on.
35:29Yeah, I'm here.
35:29I'm still here.
35:30You have to put your headphones on.
35:31Yeah.
35:32Yeah.
35:33No, but they have something to tell you.
35:36Something's coming.
35:36Yeah.
35:37All right.
35:37He's the boss.
35:38He's got a ball packed up here.
35:40Ball mine.
35:41All right.
35:41There we go.
35:44Steinmetz is going to the Willards.
35:45Steinmetz, good news and bad news.
35:47The good news is you're only a couple minutes away from getting out of here.
35:50All right.
35:50The bad news is the boss says he has to also talk to you.
35:53Oh, no.
35:55I hate to see it.
35:56We'll see.
35:57Wow.
35:57We'll see.
35:58Straight to the office.
35:59We'll see.
35:59Yeah.
36:00That would be very unusual considering we have our meeting tomorrow.
36:03I feel good about this one.
36:04He said what he said.
36:05I just think Minnesota, they're going to eat something.
36:08I think this thing gets extended.
36:11You sound convinced, too.
36:12No, I do.
36:13I'm telling you.
36:14Yeah.
36:15Okay.
36:15Yeah.
36:16All right.
36:16I mean, you know what?
36:18If I were you, I would bet it on the money line.
36:21Take the Warriors' money line.
36:22Plus $5.50 or whatever it is.
36:24This would be the first time in the Kerr era they would have lost four playoff games in a row.
36:29Well, sure.
36:29They don't lose a lot of playoff series.
36:32No team has ever lost four straight playoff games and advanced.
36:38Deep dive dibs.
36:40I did this yesterday.
36:41No, it's not possible.
36:42It's not possible.
36:43It's not possible.
36:44I did the same thing yesterday.
36:46I was like, wait, there was that.
36:48No, wait.
36:48It's impossible.
36:49Because every series that you win ends with a win.
36:53Anyway.
36:54All right, guys.
36:55Thanks for saying.
36:57That was awesome.
36:57I got a gift for you.
36:59What?
36:59I got a gift for you.
37:00Give him a gift card.
37:01I'll take it from here.
37:02Thank you, buddy.
37:03You can leave.
37:04And he's going to take it from me.
37:0795 said.
37:08Yeah, no.
37:09Valkyrie.
37:09Home of the Valkyries.
37:10Me taking it from you means you don't need to do that.
37:13You can just go.
37:14Night-night.
37:15Yeah.
37:15You can just go.
37:16As you heard today on the morning roast, we are obviously excited to announce that 95.7 The Game and Odyssey have partnered with the Golden State Valkyries on a multi-year deal to broadcast their game starting this Friday as the Valkyries take on LA Sparks Chase Center 7 o'clock.
