00:00All right, this is the crossover, Evan in for Goose, Diney here with us, Willard and Dibbs.
00:05What's going on, fellas? Appreciate you hopping in on a, yeah, role reversal. Happy hump day, what's up?
00:11Well, it's our job, but you're welcome.
00:14No, how are we doing? Was this fun today?
00:17Yeah, it was a good change of pace, I felt.
00:20Yeah, a little mix-up.
00:22By the way, Dibbs, you want to sit over here today?
00:24No, not really.
00:25You know, I like where we are, you know, even when, like before it was Grandy, and I think there were times when I was over there, I'm just more comfortable over here.
00:33I've always been much more of a counter-puncher. I can dictate the tempo, but I'm just better at this.
00:39I'm not Stiney who has the two-way versatility now.
00:42Have you done that, Willard?
00:44What's that?
00:45Giving up the H here.
00:47Of course. Well, I mean, hmm.
00:49Recently.
00:51Or, you know, would you? It was like a Freaky Friday situation.
00:54Of course I would.
00:56Yeah.
00:56You'd have trouble in that role.
00:58No, I wouldn't.
00:59You're like Kaminga.
01:00Off the ball.
01:00You know, you want to be an all-star, you want to score 25 a game, and that's what it's going to come down to.
01:08I mean, I let you do the formatics in this segment every single day.
01:12Speaking of which.
01:12I have no problem with it at all.
01:15Speaking of which, you guys have a big-time guest today at 2.15.
01:19And who was the happiest person on earth when we found out about that?
01:24Well, Sam Lubman.
01:27Okay.
01:28I did the pod today.
01:28I mean, that's one answer.
01:30Garlic fries and baseball, guys.
01:32How did it go?
01:33It went great.
01:34Good, good.
01:35And at the very end, I mentioned, yeah, Bob Melvin today.
01:37He's like, really?
01:38That's awesome, guys.
01:40I'm excited.
01:40Yeah, super excited.
01:42And the thing about doing the pod, if you guys haven't done it already, it makes you look like a guy who doesn't talk very much, Mark.
01:49I'll just say that.
01:51I mean, Sam, he's like the Iverson, you know?
01:53He's working it, and there's two left on the clock, and it's like, where's Eric Snow?
01:58Where's Matt Geiger?
01:59Sam, you know, it's like when you haven't eaten all day, and then it's suddenly dinner time.
02:06You're going to eat a little faster.
02:08Yeah.
02:08Yeah.
02:09And I love it.
02:09I get that.
02:10I mean, I enjoy watching him work.
02:12He was cooking.
02:13Just so you know, Stiney, the Giants were like, would you want Bob Melvin at 2.30?
02:17And I was like, no, 2.15, because Stiney will be happy if it's 2.15.
02:25Saves you a couple minutes.
02:26Two minutes.
02:26It's because Bo Mel was like, then we're doing it.
02:29Bo Mel doing a solid for Stiney?
02:31No doubt.
02:32I knew I liked that guy.
02:33Something like that.
02:34Yeah.
02:34A couple East Bay guys, for sure.
02:36Yeah, it'll be 2.10.
02:38It's just a minute or two.
02:40But it'll allow me to catch that, of all important, Antioch bar train.
02:44It's exciting.
02:45It's been talking about 2.10 ever since.
02:49Giants last night.
02:50I was out there.
02:53Oh, were you?
02:53Yeah.
02:54And you're on the Valkyries tonight?
02:55Yeah.
02:55We're having one of those weeks.
02:57Yeah, it's cool.
02:57We're getting out of the bout.
02:58Double dipping.
02:59And we're going to hit Cash Creek on Friday.
03:01That's right.
03:01It's an out-of-the-house week.
03:03It's summertime.
03:05Why are you pointing the dibs?
03:06Yeah.
03:06It's you guys.
03:07That's right.
03:08I forgot to talk about that.
03:10Yeah.
03:10So you guys are...
03:11You guys are...
03:12You don't have to talk about it.
03:13It's going to happen either way.
03:14Friday through Saturday.
03:15When are you guys golfing?
03:16Saturday.
03:16Saturday morning.
03:17Yeah.
03:18It's...
03:19You do a show Friday.
03:20How much does a room cost you?
03:22I'll have to look, but I know some people.
03:24I might be able to get you a decent rate.
03:25Now, you asked me if I wanted to stay with you, Tom.
03:27Maybe I want to come up to Cash Creek Friday.
03:29You're welcome to tomorrow.
03:30Come on out.
03:30Yeah.
03:31It...
03:31Who are you playing with?
03:33Two listeners?
03:33Listeners.
03:34One of whom called in yesterday.
03:35Yeah.
03:35He sounds like a delightful guy.
03:36Absolutely.
03:37Listener and their guest.
03:39Oh.
03:40And the one who called in yesterday, I think, said his brother...
03:43Right.
03:43Flying in.
03:43...was flying in for this event.
03:45Well, this is...
03:46Which was like...
03:47Now, let me...
03:47That's pressure.
03:48Let me be honest about this.
03:50Okay.
03:50Mark, so you're going to be golfing with two strangers?
03:54Well, we've talked to one of them on the phone.
03:58Well, the other one we know very well.
04:00Yeah, exactly.
04:01Zucci.
04:01Zucci won the other spot.
04:03Zucci May won the other spot.
04:03Oh, okay.
04:04I mean, I wouldn't know him, but...
04:05I was just going to say, like, Mark, you'll handle yourself fine.
04:10Sometimes dibs with an unknown...
04:12Wait, what?
04:13...in a foursome.
04:15When he...
04:17An unknown comes into the foursome,
04:19it opens...
04:21Where are you going?
04:23You know where I'm going.
04:24I know where I'm going.
04:26You know where I'm going with this.
04:27It's unsettling for you?
04:28This...
04:28We've done this before.
04:30Not unsettling, but it can, at times, be triggering.
04:33Yes.
04:34Depending on a couple of individual, unique behaviors.
04:38One of which is don't talk to my ball.
04:41Okay?
04:42Get your mouth...
04:43Oh.
04:43...off my ball.
04:44Okay?
04:45That's normally Willard's Lane.
04:46Here's the...
04:47Simmer.
04:47If I hit a putt from 37 feet, you know...
04:51Oh, hit a house!
04:52Or 37 yards.
04:53Whatever is appropriate.
04:55And if my playing partner says, hit a house, and my putt winds up two feet short, you're
04:59getting the look.
05:00It's like, nobody asked you to opine on the relative force with which I hit that putt.
05:06So, if you swing big berth, then go straight down the fairway, and I'm screaming, go ball,
05:11go ball, you don't like that?
05:13As long as you have a perfect game, go ahead.
05:15But inevitably, you're going to make a mistake.
05:17And I'm trying to encourage you.
05:18I'm not doing it out of any...
05:19Yeah, do you not like people rooting for you?
05:21Well, that's different.
05:22Nice drive, Tibbs.
05:23Yeah.
05:23That's what we're talking about.
05:24That's not rooting for you.
05:25That's commenting on something that's already happened.
05:27Yeah, ball's mid-flight.
05:29Rooting involves something that's about to happen.
05:31I'm rooting for the Giants to get a hit sometime when people are on base.
05:36It hasn't happened yet.
05:37That would be different if someone got a hit, and then I used my press pass to go down to
05:42the dugout and went, nice job, Elliot.
05:45Way to get a hit.
05:46You don't want people rooting for you?
05:48It's not that important to me, but I'd rather have people stay out of my business.
05:54Okay?
05:54Okay.
05:55And if you say, get up, and I wind up in a divot, it's like, dude, no, not get up.
06:00No, no, no.
06:01It's after you hit the ball.
06:02Obviously, I'm not talking in your backswing, but if you crack...
06:06You crack one, and I'm screaming, there we go, great shit, right down the lane.
06:10And it, I don't know, God forbid, it fades a little bit.
06:12Like, that's my fault, because mid-flight, I thought you hit it well.
06:15It's not your fault, but it just becomes an annoying personality trait where, you know...
06:20Did I do it when we played together?
06:21Because I talked to the ball.
06:23Right, not really.
06:24Okay.
06:24Not really, and I think it was...
06:25I tell the ball to go.
06:26It was you and I and two listeners, right?
06:27That's right.
06:28But, you know, we had other things going on where they were not necessarily the most
06:32adept golfers, and so...
06:33They were delightful.
06:34They were wonderful people.
06:36Well...
06:36Yeah, I don't care where the ball goes.
06:38So what can we talk about?
06:40Oh, you can...
06:40Yeah, wow.
06:41No, no, no.
06:42Talk about anything.
06:44But, let me tell you what, and Zucci's, he's probably listening, right?
06:49I would imagine that both of them are listening.
06:52Let me give you one...
06:52P1, Stiney.
06:53Let me give you one tip.
06:54Maybe they're waiting for 2 o'clock, I don't know.
06:56One, golfing with Dan Dibley tip.
06:59If he happens to lose a ball, and he's looking for it, help him out.
07:06Well, yeah.
07:06Get some more eyes on it.
07:08That's the way it's supposed to be.
07:09That's the way it's supposed to be.
07:11It's a small courtesy.
07:12Sometimes, you know, you drove a ball on the other side of the fairway, he's on the opposite,
07:18you can't really get there.
07:19What if you're looking for your own ball?
07:21Then all bets are off.
07:23Okay.
07:23But if you're in the fairway, and I'm clearly waist deep in thistle bushes, and I'm having
07:28a hard time, and already, you know, I'm a big fan of getting things moving on the golf
07:33course, and so the fastest way to do that would be to have four people looking, it's
07:37like, the three minutes are up, I'm going to drop.
07:39Now, do we have to get waist deep with you?
07:41Because I don't like when them little thistle things get into your socks.
07:44That's uncomfortable.
07:45You know, you don't.
07:46Oh, yeah.
07:47It's also just a courtesy look.
07:48It's the effort.
07:49It's the effort.
07:50It's the thought that counts.
07:51Go over, look around, act concerned.
07:56It's a tough one, Dibs.
07:57Okay.
07:57I will try to pull his playing partners aside ahead of time and coach him up.
08:04We're not playing together.
08:05Well, I'll give you the book.
08:06Well, that's...
08:07To just read it to him.
08:08Which volume?
08:08They need to...
08:09Right.
08:10I'll coach him up because we're not...
08:12In fact, we're not even...
08:14Like, I'm not even...
08:15I was hoping that what we would...
08:17One of us would get to hit into the other one.
08:20To mess with each other.
08:21Gotcha.
08:22Yeah, because that's always fun.
08:23Yeah.
08:24You just give him a little buzz the tower.
08:26You know, I know Dibs loves that.
08:29But we're not even in back-to-back groups.
08:31I was able to move my tee time earlier.
08:33I've got a graduation party that I'd like to get to in quicker order.
08:38It's a celebration sensation is what it is.
08:39You guys aren't even playing together.
08:41No.
08:41We need any back-to-back foursomes.
08:43And now I'm playing with listeners.
08:44You get your own listener.
08:46Yeah.
08:46I've got my listener.
08:47Okay.
08:48And I don't know which one it is.
08:49Yep.
08:50But that's how it's going to go down.
08:51Don't talk to me.
08:51Is it Demetrius?
08:54Demetrius?
08:54Yeah.
08:55Yeah.
08:55He just texted.
08:56Yeah.
08:56Oh, he did?
08:57Yeah.
08:57I'm not a stranger.
08:58I'm not a stranger.
08:59Mark and Dan are my buds.
09:02Best four hours on the radio every day.
09:04We're about to find out.
09:05Hey.
09:05Starts in four minutes.
09:06Get the pike.
09:06And based on that little back-and-forth, he probably wants to play with Willard now.
09:10And I get that.
09:10I don't know.
09:11I don't know.
09:12Maybe he likes the feeling of thistles in his socks.
09:14Well, I don't know.
09:15Maybe he's got a graduation to get to.
09:16I actually hit the ball in the fairway a lot more often than I used to because I no
09:20longer try to crush it.
09:21You're playing better than you played before you took this little time off.
09:25No doubt.
09:25Let Zucci and Demetrius know that if you play with Dibs, you do get done a half hour earlier.
09:30Yeah.
09:31That's true.
09:31Some people may want to stay for the entire day.
09:33It's going to be a thousand degrees.
09:35It might be warm.
09:36Maybe that will factor into their thinking.
09:39That's true.
09:39I don't know.
09:39I looked yesterday and the high is slated to be 97 in Brooks, California.
09:45It's going to be a thousand degrees.
09:45It might be a little warm.
09:47We're playing right through the early afternoon hours.
09:51It's going to be hot.
09:51Yeah.
09:51Right in the heat of the day.
09:52It's going to be hot.
09:53Just bring sunscreen.
09:54You'll be fine.
09:54It's not that humid.
09:56No, it's going to be great.
09:57It's going to be a delightful weekend.
10:00I'm playing Friday, too, guys.
10:02Why don't you come out?
10:04I'm actually not going to be here this weekend.
10:07All right.
10:07It's going to be back east, right?
10:08I just remembered.
10:09Yeah.
10:09Yeah.
10:09Oh, okay.
10:11So that's too bad.
10:12Let's see.
10:14Want me to do the legal now?
10:15Yeah, it's up to you.
10:16Let me get to your question.
10:17Okay.
10:17Sure.
10:18Take the lead, Evan.
10:19What's the rule on the legal?
10:20Jesus, take the wheel.
10:21It's been tough today.
10:23It's been tough for the legal.
10:24You get five minutes on either side of the top.
10:26You know, the boss said 10 minutes.
10:28He's probably right.
10:28Well, 10-minute window, maybe.
10:29No, no, no.
10:30No, he said any time within 10 minutes of either side.
10:32I wasn't aware of that.
10:33Oh, really?
10:33I thought it was five.
10:34I'm going to start doing it just whenever the hell it happens then.
10:37That's 49.55.
10:38That's pretty much the whole hour.
10:39Know what?
10:40Grandy, keep an eye out.
10:41Yeah, Grandy.
10:42He's a stickler.
10:43You're listening to 95.7 The Game, KGM, ZFM, and HD1, San Francisco, and Odyssey Sports Station,
10:48home of the Golden State Warriors and Valkyries.
10:50It's always live in the free Odyssey app, coming to you live from the Laughing Monk Studios.
10:54Laughing Monk righteously brewed in San Francisco.
10:57Did you want to dig deeper into the Giants, or did you want to switch over to a...
11:01I missed your thing.
11:03You guys teased it, and then I got out of the car.
11:06What was your big observation about the Giants?
11:08Oh, it was about the baby.
11:09Oh, it was about the baby.
11:10What baby?
11:13Verlander's baby, right?
11:14A woman.
11:14No.
11:14Could have been.
11:15A woman had a baby.
11:16She was holding a baby.
11:17This was on TV?
11:18Yeah.
11:19Yeah, I was there, so I didn't see this one.
11:20Okay, what happened?
11:21A dude in back of her caught a foul ball.
11:24Okay.
11:25And he walks up, and he puts the ball, like, into the baby's midsection.
11:30Like, he gave a ball to a three-month-old.
11:33A three-month-old?
11:34Yeah.
11:34What's the problem?
11:35He didn't like it.
11:37So dumb.
11:38What was...
11:38The baby had no comprehension of what was going on.
11:42Did you...
11:43I knew.
11:44Did you throw your kids a one-year-old birthday party?
11:47I can't remember that.
11:49Yes, you can.
11:50And yes, you did.
11:50And they have no idea what the hell happened.
11:52That was an adult party.
11:54Exactly.
11:54My first two were, and boy, woke up with quite a hangover.
11:59And the second one, my one-year-old didn't even show up.
12:02He napped through the whole thing.
12:04Good, good.
12:04So, kid number three...
12:06That's perfect.
12:07We did not do a one-year-old birthday.
12:08Same thing.
12:09Same thing.
12:09We didn't do a two-year-old birthday, and we're debating the three-year-old birthday.
12:13What we did for the third kid was just stick him in the high chair, put a cake in front
12:16of him so he can get all the pictures, and let's go home.
12:18Right.
12:19That's it.
12:20Yeah, they don't know what the hell's going on.
12:21He doesn't remember it.
12:23With their pictures, it happened.
12:25It's fine.
12:25How do you know it wasn't a significant other?
12:27Yeah, why does it bother you?
12:28Because it was in...
12:28The guy was sitting in a different row.
12:30But why did it, like...
12:32I was at, like, who got hurt?
12:35I used to do this with Michael Thompson when he would get mad when baseball teams would
12:39celebrate the prior rounds to the World Series.
12:42Oh, my God.
12:43I'm with him.
12:44He hates it.
12:45Oh, I think it's a joke.
12:46He hates it.
12:46I kind of get it.
12:47Okay.
12:48And he hates it.
12:49And I'm always calling him the fun police, and that would be my question.
12:53Who got hurt?
12:54Nobody.
12:55Okay.
12:55Just having fun.
12:56Well, actually, Doug Minkiewicz did break an arm in a celebration.
13:00Look at that.
13:01Tech 2001.
13:02Okay.
13:02It happens.
13:03Doug Minkiewicz.
13:04There's your answer.
13:04That's what I heard.
13:05It is kind of funny, because I remember when the Giants...
13:08When did they win the division?
13:11Never.
13:11Oh, no.
13:11When did they not win the division?
13:12Not only 21.
13:13No, no, no.
13:14You're talking about in the World Series?
13:15In the World Series.
13:16They won it in 10.
13:17Okay.
13:17I remember watching in 10.
13:19They win the World Series...
13:21They win the division.
13:23And Susan goes, oh, wow.
13:24They just win the World Series?
13:25And I said, no.
13:27She said, what'd they do?
13:29I said, they just proved they were better than four other teams.
13:33So, you would suggest...
13:35Just four other teams they were better than.
13:38162 baseball games, and trailing by, I don't even remember, but a healthy number going into
13:45the final month of the season.
13:47On the final day of the season, while you are playing the team that you are trying to finish
13:52ahead of, you win that game...
13:54Yeah.
13:54...in order to secure a postseason berth with home field advantage and all of those things,
13:59you would suggest they head out there and shake one another's hands?
14:02A pumped fist.
14:03Clenched fist.
14:04Like hockey?
14:04You want to just go down the line?
14:06All 500 executives?
14:07Like, clenched fist.
14:08Yeah.
14:08Work?
14:09Yeah.
14:10Is the job finished?
14:10Job's not finished.
14:12Well, one job was.
14:13Is the job finished?
14:13Job's not finished.
14:14Actually, that job...
14:15Job's not finished?
14:15That job was finished.
14:17That's the job of the regular season.
14:19Isn't it?
14:20And with 162, it is such a grind that you get there and you win it, and they also won
14:25it in 2012, the division.
14:26Yeah.
14:27And winning is hard.
14:28So, I used to be more of the Michael and Stiney curmudgeon mode, but the more you go through
14:33it, you realize that 162 and you win the division, that's not easy.
14:39It doesn't happen all the time, so be happy about it.
14:41If we do a good segment, I go down during the break and run a lap around the entire
14:46building.
14:46Like, what the hell?
14:47How fun?
14:48Let me be clear.
14:49All right.
14:49I don't have a strong opinion on teams that celebrate four times in baseball on their way
14:55to the World Series.
14:56You put your arms up in the air and you waved them like you just don't care.
15:00Well, I like that somebody had my opinion.
15:04The baby doesn't bother me.
15:05All right.
15:06I was just looking for something.
15:06What did the baby do?
15:08Did the ball just roll away?
15:09The baby was asleep.
15:11Right.
15:11It's a baby.
15:11No, the ball got pinched between the baby and the woman.
15:15Oh.
15:15So, as long as I'm not going to be here Friday, so I don't know what's bugging you.
15:22Okay.
15:22I have one that's bugging me.
15:24Okay.
15:25Go ahead.
15:25I do, too.
15:25Yeah.
15:25And you guys always do this to me, and I just want to tell you that nothing could be
15:32further from the truth.
15:33You guys always seem to say, Osteini's not in a good mood.
15:38He must not have played well in golf.
15:41Okay.
15:41I don't get mad about golf.
15:45Ever.
15:46Under no circumstances do I get mad about golf.
15:50It's been a long time.
15:51It never affects my show.
15:54It never affects my mood.
15:56Yeah, I don't know about this one.
15:58What emotions does it bring?
16:00Because you think about it a lot.
16:02About what?
16:02Golf.
16:03I love thinking about it.
16:05You talk about it a lot.
16:06I love it.
16:07And this is not a criticism.
16:09Yeah.
16:09It comes up a lot.
16:10Sure.
16:11So, it's clearly, and you do it a lot.
16:13Yes.
16:14So, it's something you very much enjoy.
16:16Every single time I do it.
16:17And it is what you do if left to your own devices.
16:22Yes.
16:22Right.
16:23Right.
16:23So, what emotions does it bring when it doesn't go well?
16:26Oh, just acceptance.
16:29Okay.
16:29It makes me more patient.
16:31No disappointment.
16:33I've seen you when, like, Dibs is like, what did you shoot?
16:36And your face is like, wow.
16:37Disappointment's different than anger.
16:38I was in 92.
16:39Disappointment's different than anger.
16:40I don't know if it hurts your mood, but when you play well, you can tell that you have
16:45played a good round of golf because you come in, like, tomorrow, if you shoot a 78 today,
16:49which you won't, but if you shoot a 78 today, you can't tell me that tomorrow you're not
16:56going to be more excited to come to golf and tell everyone else that you've shot a 78.
17:00I'll tell you what.
17:00Why don't we do this?
17:01I'll come in and do my show tomorrow.
17:03You tell me what I shot because apparently you'll be able to tell.
17:07Oh, I like this game.
17:09I actually like this game.
17:10I nail it almost every single time.
17:12But you'll know that that's how you have to know that, like, that only works if you
17:16don't, if you're not in on the bit.
17:16He's going to forget this conversation, by the way.
17:18You have to not be in on the bit or else you'll be faking it.
17:21No, I'm going to do what I do.
17:23He is the bit.
17:24Like Meg Ryan at the table.
17:26You'll be faking it.
17:27No, no, no, I won't.
17:29Because there's nothing to fake.
17:30There's nothing to fake.
17:32I'm telling you right now, it's going to be 30 mile an hour wins out of Carica.
17:36We're playing a course I've only played twice.
17:38I got a high number coming.
17:39I'm okay with it.
17:40You're under-promising in the hopes of over-delivering.
17:46Well, since we only have a little bit of time here, Stiney, you might have to take over
17:50real fast.
17:50Because I do have to get their opinions on, you think Kaming is faking it?
17:54Faking what?
17:54No.
17:56Faking the fact that he wants to be this person and this player and all the rest of it?
18:00Yeah, that he wants to be a multi-all-star.
18:02Multi-time all-star.
18:03Well, I did a deep dive and unfortunately we don't have time for the dive right now because
18:07we do have Bob Melvin coming up.
18:09But there is one fascinating commonality in the five other players I looked at, all of
18:16whom took a long time to make their first all-star team.
18:20One commonality.
18:22And I'll get to that down the road.
18:24But I'll just give you the commonality now and the deep dive comes later.
18:27The one thing that they have in common is they all had to go to a different team.
18:31Every last one of them.
18:33And it's Jermaine O'Neal, Chauncey Billups, Kyle Lowry, Detlef Schrempf for the old school,
18:39and the record holder for most seasons until the debut, Kyle Korver with 12.
18:46And he only made one all-star game.
18:47And it's because Atlanta that year won 60 games.
18:50And their whole team made the all-star team.
18:52I missed, so those five players represent what?
18:55All of them had to go to a new team before they made that first all-star team.
19:00There has to be more than that, right?
19:02More players whose first all-star appearance was their second team.
19:06Oh, of course.
19:07But I was looking at the players who had to wait the longest to get their first all-star
19:11berth.
19:12And for example, Chauncey Billups was in year nine.
19:15And Kyle Lowry, year nine.
19:17Jermaine O'Neal, year six, who many people compare Kaminga to in a number of different ways.
19:22Korver, year 12.
19:23Detlef Schrempf, year eight.
19:25Look, we've probably arrived at a time where it's just not, this is not nefarious.
19:32This doesn't need to be angry anymore.
19:33He's got to go.
19:35They got to get him out of here.
19:37For him.
19:38For him.
19:40Like, he's got to go.
19:42Like, if you haven't read the article, go read the article.
19:45I don't care what business you're in.
19:47If you've got an employee that doesn't want to be there, you've got to get that employee
19:51out of there.
19:51Whether it's for you, whether it's for them, it's just for the greater good.
19:56I don't know how difficult it's going to be.
19:59Me neither.
19:59They got to get him out of here.
20:01I don't disagree with that.
20:02It does remind me a little of the Jermaine O'Neal situation where he could not crack that
20:06starting lineup in Portland.
20:07So they traded him and Joe Klein to Indiana for Dale Davis.
20:14Clemson.
20:15Future warrior, which I had forgotten.
20:17That's right.
20:17It's just kind of, it's a byproduct of one of the all-time greats who's ever lived is
20:23on your team.
20:24And the job he wants is not available.
20:27And if that's the job he wants, then they should try to help him go find it.
20:31Let me ask you this.
20:32If any of it's reparable, would you have any problem with the Warriors trying to trade
20:39Draymond Green, trading Draymond Green for somebody that helps you in another area to
20:46clear room for Kaminga?
20:48And then, you know, try to come to terms with Kaminga?
20:50I don't have any issue with anything if they think it makes them better.
20:53Yeah.
20:54But then I asked the question, like, what's his real relationship with Steve Kerr?
20:59Yeah, like, are you doing that to clear space for Kaminga, or are you doing that because
21:02you think it makes you a better basketball team?
21:04Exactly.
21:05That'd be my only question.
21:06Yeah, no.
21:06And if it makes you a better basketball team, go for it.
21:08Yeah, I don't know that, I mean, I can't imagine Kaminga would be excited coming back
21:15here under any circumstances because of Steve Kerr.
21:18I don't think he dislikes him, but I think Kerr will go away from him if he feels like he
21:23has to.
21:24Even if Draymond's gone, doesn't the presence of Steph Curry still get in the way of what
21:29Jonathan wants to do?
21:30That's a good point.
21:31I don't know.
21:31He wants to cook, and all they let him do is be the busboy and be the waiter on occasion,
21:36and you're in the front of the house.
21:37He wants to cook, and this restaurant's not giving him an apron.
21:41No, unless...
21:42Let alone a second apron.
21:42You know, and especially, it'd be different if you didn't put any pressure on next year,
21:46but you're trying to win.
21:48You know, if you said, hey, J.K., we'll pay you, you wait a season or two, Kerr's not
21:51going to be the head coach, like, maybe there's a needle you could thread, but the team obviously
21:55wants to compete at the highest level possible next year.
21:58So the only logical conclusion I can come to is you're going to have to sell low on him
22:03and try and get someone who can actually help you.
22:05Fascinating one-two punch from you guys to talk as long as you did about the value of
22:10the team and Steph Curry's effect on that value, and then go right into, for instance,
22:17calls like Priest, who are sitting here essentially ripping the Warriors for making it all about
22:24Steph.
22:24Well, if in theory he's worth $5 billion, I'd make it all about him, too.
22:30That's why I say there's nothing nefarious here.
22:33The Warriors have...
22:34There's no choice but to make this all about Steph.
22:36Steph, everything is about Steph, and it always will be until he leaves.
22:41Well, in about five minutes, we're going to make it all about Bob Melvin.
22:43Yeah.
22:44He's coming up on Willard and Dibs.
22:45And let me...
22:46Yeah, I want to get out now so you guys can set it up.
22:48Oh.
22:49Just give you five minutes to set it up.
22:50No, get going.
22:51And you're going to set it up on 95.7, the game.
22:53That's where we work.
